Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce maintenance processing of a collector of fine dust in exhaust gas by providing a dust collector electrode facing a discharge electrode and by making the collector electrode partially carry an oxide catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Engine exhaust gas comes through an intake port 2 and into a dust collector in a case 1 and it is purified and exhausted to the atmosphere through a back exit port 3. The carbon particles in the exhaust gas charged by the discharge electrode 5 for corona discharge provided in the center of the dust collector, collect at the dust collector electrode 4 provided on the inside wall of the casing 1. The collected particles are burned again by the reaction with the catalyst carried by a part of the dust collector electrode and constantly regenerate the dust electrode. The function of the electrode does not deteriorate because the catalyst is carried only by a part of the dust collector electrode.
