Abstract

Un proceso hidrometalúrgico de lixiviación con ácido sulfúrico para la extracción de níquel y cobalto de mena de óxido de laterita niquelífera, que comprende:a. proporcionar una pasta acuosa de mena de óxido niquelífera con un contenido de bajo magnesio;b. lixiviar la pasta acuosa a una temperatura elevada (mínimo 200°C) y presión con una adición de ácido sulfúrico suficiente al menos estequiométricamente para efectuar la lixiviación del níquel y cobalto contenidos y suministrar de ese modo una solución cargada de sulfato de níquel, sulfato de cobalto y un residuo de lixiviado; yc. lixiviar atmosféricamente a presión mena de óxido niquelífera con contenido de alto magnesio con la solución cargada del paso (b), añadiendo cantidades controladas de mena en bruto, no tratada, de alto magnesio a la solución cargada a temperaturas de desde 80°C hasta el punto de ebullición normal de la solución y disponiendo agitación y tiempo suficientes para efectuar la extracción de níquel y cobalto de la mena de alto magnesio y formar un lodo de lixiviado final.<EMI FILE="00083211_1" ID="1" IMF=JPEG >
