Abstract

La presente invención proporciona pares de anticuerpos coincidentes para la detección específica de uno o más de los cuatro serotipos del virus del dengue en una muestra biológica que puede contener uno o más de tales serotipos del virus del dengue. Cada par de anticuerpos coincidentes es capaz de detectar no más de un serotipo de la proteína NS1 del virus del dengue que puede estar presente en la muestra y no tendrá reacción cruzada con otros serotipos que puedan estar presentes en la muestra. Se pueden usar múltiples pares coincidentes para detectar uno o más serotipos del virus del dengue que pueden estar presentes en una muestra. Dichos anticuerpos de pares coincidentes facilitan el desarrollo de pruebas diagnósticas confirmatorias in vitro tales como inmunoensayos intercalados, que detectan y distinguen la presencia de uno o más serotipos del virus del dengue en una muestra biológica, preferiblemente una muestra derivada de un sujeto humano. La invención también proporciona kits que comprenden los pares de anticuerpos coincidentes de la invención y métodos para usar los kits para inmunoensayos para la detección específica de uno o más serotipos del virus del dengue en una población de pacientes. La presente invención también proporciona anticuerpos monoclonales específicos para la proteína NS1 del virus del dengue y composiciones terapéuticas y métodos para tratar la infección por el virus del dengue.
