背景技术
有机发光器件(OLED)对显示应用有用,并且尤其是移动手持显示应用有用。通常,OLED包括阳极、阴机和在阳极和阴极之间的发光区域。发光区域能够含有一层或多层并且通常在那些层中至少之一包括至少一电致发光材料。OLED通常制造为包括空穴传输材料和发射电子传输材料的分开的层。在许多公知的OLED显示中,为了提高效率或者增加OLED的稳定性,空穴传输和电子传输层掺杂有机染料。
简单OLED可以包括导电地夹有阳极和阴极之间的有机发光材料层,该阳极通常包括诸如氧化铟锡的透明导体,而该阴极通常为低功函金属,诸如镁、钙、铝、或者与其它的合金。OLED的工作原理是在电场作用下正电荷(空穴)和负电荷(电子)分别从阳极和阴极注入发光层,并且复合以形成随后发光的激子状态。许多现有技术的OLED是由有机发光材料和相对极性的电极的层迭构成的,该器件包括单晶材料,诸如单晶蒽作为发光物质,诸如在美国专利No.3,530,329中所述。然而,这种器件可以需要100V或者更大数量级的激发电压。
OLED还可以形成为双层结构,包括与支持空穴传输的阳极相邻的一有机层以及与支持电子传输的阴极相邻的另一有机层,并且该发光区域用作器件的电致发光区域。另一器件构造包括三个单独的层:空穴传输层、发光层和电子传输层,这些层按顺序层迭并且夹在阳极和阴极之间,从而电荷的复合产生对荧光材料的激发。
在小分子OLED中,三(8-羟基喹啉)铝(AlQ3)是适用的电子传输材料并且已经广泛地用于OLED的电子传输层中。三嗪由于其更高的电子迁移率可是AlQ3的更好替代物。更高的电子迁移率可以导致基本上较低的OLED驱动电压并且因此相对低的功耗。例如,在OLED的电子传输层中在AlQ3之外使用三嗪可以导致驱动电压的降低并且功耗降低30%。在美国专利No.6,225,467和No.6,229,012中公开了使用三嗪作为电子传输材料(在此引入作为参考)。
在三嗪可以在OLED中提供极佳的电子迁移率时,与公知的其它电子传输材料相比三嗪可以展示相对低的形态稳定性。形态不稳定可以在OLED显示中导致不均匀以及结构缺陷。从而,需要电子材料能够提供所需的电子迁移率并且形态稳定。
发明内容
根据一实施方式,本发明提供了一种有机发光器件,含有:(a)阴极;(b)发光区域;以及(c)阳极,其中所述发光区域含有电子传输层,该电子传输层含有掺杂有机材料和无机材料中至少之一的三嗪。
根据另一实施方式,本发明提供了一种含有至少一有机发光器件的显示器,所述有机发光器件含有:(a)阴极;(b)发光区域;以及(c)阳极,其中所述发光区域含有电子传输层,该电子传输层含有掺杂有机材料和无机材料中至少之一的三嗪。
根据再一实施方式,本发明提供了一种含有掺杂有机材料和无机材料其中至少之一的三嗪的电子传输材料。

具体实施方式
这里公开的OLED含有阴极、发光区域以及阳极。发光区域指在阳极和阴极之间能够提供发光的区域。该发光区域含有至少一层。例如,发光区域包括两层或三层。发光区域包括电致发光材料,例如有机电致发光材料。有机电致发光材料可以出现在发光区域的任意层中。OLED能够含有在发光区域的电子和空穴传输材料。电子和空穴传输材料可以分别出现在电子和空穴传输层中。电子和空穴传输层能够在发光区域中,或者他们可以在与分光区域分开的多层中。
发光区域能够含有电致发光层和/或电子传输层。根据本公开,发光区域含有包含三嗪和掺杂剂的层。电致发光层能够含有掺杂后的三嗪。另外,或者代作为替换,电子传输层能够含有掺杂的三嗪。
“掺杂剂”是指混合中的组分。例如,当混合物中的材料不含有占多数的该混合物时该材料能够被称为掺杂剂。根据一实施方式,掺杂剂通常指在混合中相对于混合物的总量其体积百分比小于50%。根据本发明另一实施方式,掺杂剂通常指在混合物中相对于该混合物的总量其体积百分比小于20%。

在各种实施方式中,OLED包括支撑基板20。该支撑基板20的示例性实施例包括玻璃等以及包括诸如MYLAR的聚酯、聚碳酸酯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸酯、聚砜、石英等的聚合物组分。如果其他基板可以有效支撑其他层并且不会干扰器件功能性能也可以选择其他类型基板20。该基板20的厚度范围为从大约25μm到大约1,000μm或者更多,例如根据器件的结构要求,范围可以是从大约50μm到约500μm。
根据各种实施方式,该OLED可以包含邻近基板的阳极30。阳极的适用非限制实施例包括诸如氧化铟锡、氧化锡、金、铂的正电荷注入电极,或者其他适用材料,诸如导电碳、诸如聚苯胺、聚吡咯等的π-共轭聚合物,其功函数等于或者大于大约4ev(电子伏特),并且具体地,从大约4eV到6eV。该阳极的厚度的范围为从约1nm到约500nm,同时根据该阳极材料的光学常数选择适当范围。在美国专利No.4,885,211(在此引入其公开作为参考)中说明阳极的其它适用形式。
可选地提供有缓冲层40以与阳极相邻。用于便于诸如来自阳极的空穴有效注入并提高阳极和空穴传输层之间粘接性(因此还提高器件工作稳定性)的缓冲层包括诸如聚苯胺及其掺入酸的形式、聚吡咯、聚(对苯乙炔),以及公知的半导体有机材料的导电材料;在美国专利No.4,356,429(在此引入其全部内容作为参考)中公开的卟啉衍生物,诸如1,10,15,20-四苯基-21H,23H-卟啉铜(II);酞菁铜、四甲基酞菁铜;酞菁锌;酞菁二氧化钛;酞菁镁等。该缓冲层包括适于用作电子空穴传输材料的叔胺。可以通过诸如汽相沉积或者旋转涂敷的公知方法将以上化合物其中之一形成薄膜制备缓冲层。因此不具体限制缓冲层的厚度,其厚度范围可以在从大约5nm到大约300nm,例如从大约10nm到大约100nm。

其他适用的空穴传输材料包括如N,N′-二咔唑基-4,4′-联苯基(CBP)、4,4′-双(3,6-二甲基咔唑-9-基)1,1’-二苯基(TPCB)以及4,4’-双(9-咔唑基)-1,1’-联苯基化合物的咔唑。4,4’-双(9-咔唑基)-1,1’-联苯基化合物的示例性实施例包括4,4’-双(9-咔唑基)-1,1’-联苯基和4,4’-双(3-甲基-9-咔唑基)-1,1’-联苯基等。另一类适于空穴传输的材料为吲哚并,包括5,11-二-萘基-5,11-二氢化吲哚并[3,2-b]咔唑(NIC)。

为了获得低驱动电压,电致发光层的厚度为从约5nm到约50nm。根据一实施方式,厚度范围为从约10nm到约40nm。在另一实施方式中,厚度范围为从约15nm到约30nm。根据其它实施方式,厚度的范围从约40nm到约20nm。根据再一实施方式,电致发光层的厚度小于约20nm。
根据各种实施方式中,电致发光材料层60能够含有具有不同电子和空穴传输能力的至少两种材料,并且能够具有小于约50nm的厚度,如同在同一日期提交的代理案号为0010.0025的美国专利申请No.11/122,288中所述(这里引入该公开作为参考)。

在各种实施例中,三嗪掺杂有至少一材料。掺杂剂材料的出现能够极大地提高三嗪电子传输层的形态稳定性并且极大地减少,如果不能防止,在OLED显示的使用寿命上结构缺陷的发展。掺杂剂选自各种材料,诸如有机和无机材料。例如,掺杂剂能够选自:诸如金属羟喹啉酸化合物和芪的有机电子传输材料,前面已经给出了其实施例;诸如芳香叔胺、咔唑、吲哚并咔唑、以及二咔唑的有机空穴传输材料,前面已经给了其实施例;以及诸如蒽、稠环有机染料和烃材料的有机双极传输材料,前面已经给出了其实施例。掺杂剂的浓度能够是相对电子传输层体积的约49%或者更少。根据另一实施方式中,掺杂剂能够以体积百分比约25%或者更少的量出现。根据再一实施方式,掺杂剂以体积百分比小于约20%,例如体积百分比小于约10%。

在各种实施方式中,OLED包括阴极80。阴极80能够含有任意适用的材料,诸如金属。该材料能够具有高功函化合物、例如,从约4.0eV至约6.0ev。该阴极能够含有低功函化合物,诸如具有例如从约2.5eV至约4.0eV的金属。阴极能够由低功函金属(约4eV,例如从约2eV至约4eV)和至少一其它金属的组合得到。
低功函金属与第二或者其他附加金属的有效比例重量上低于约0.1%到99.9%。低功函金属的示例性实施例包括:诸如锂或者钠的碱金属;诸如铍、镁、钙或者钡的2A族或者碱土金属,以及包括稀土金属以及诸如钪、钇、镧、铈、铕、铽、或者锕的锕族金属的III族金属。锂、镁和钙为适用的低功函金属。
阴极80的厚度范围为从约10nm到约500nm。美国专利No.4,885,211(这里引入其公开作为参考)的Mg:Ag阴极构成一适用阴极结构。在美国专利No.5,429,884(这里引入其公开作为参考)中描述了另一适用阴极,其中该阴极由具有诸如铝和铟的其他高功函金属的锂合金构成。
可以通过传统方法构造这里公开的OLED。在各种实施方式中,设置诸如玻璃的支撑基板20。在该玻璃上设置阳极30并且该阳极30由厚度为从约1nm到约500nm的氧化铟锡构成,例如,从约30nm到约100nm(在整个公开中,厚度范围为所提供实例的厚度范围,也可以选择其他适用厚度)。可以选择性地设置和该阳极接触的缓冲层40,并且该缓冲层40可以由厚度为约5nm到约500nm的导电组分或者空穴传输材料构成,例如约10nm到约100nm。在该阳极30或者缓冲层40上设置可选的有机空穴传输层50,该可选的有机空穴传输层50厚度为约1nm到约200nm,例如约5nm到约100nm。设置电致发光层60与该空穴传输层50接触。设置电子传输层70与电致发光层60接触,该电子传输层70厚度为从约5nm到约300nm,诸如从约1nm到约200nm,例如从约5nm到约100nm。包括诸如低功函金属的阴极80与该电子传输层70接触。
根据本公开,这里所公开的OLED的实施方式可以在交流(AC)和/或直流(DC)驱动条件下工作。在某些情况,尤其在高温设备工作条件下,AC驱动条件适于提供延长的工作寿命。适合工作电压为获得至少大约100cd/m2亮度的驱动电流所需的外部施加的驱动电压,并且通常亮度至少约为500cd/m2,诸如亮度为约1000cd/m2。该电压范围为约0.5伏特到约20伏特,诸如约1伏特到约15伏特。根据各种实施方式,工作电压低于约6V,例如低于约5.5V。适合的工作电流范围为约1mA/cm2到约1000mA/cm2,诸如从约10mA/cm2到约200mA/cm2,例如约25mA/cm2。也可以使用该范围之外的工作电压和电流。
这里公开的掺杂的三嗪材料在小分子OLED、聚合物OLED以及混合设备(包括小分子和聚合物材料的混合物)能够适于作电子传输材料。由于它们的极佳的电子传输性能并且形态稳定性,他们还能够用于需要高效电子传输性能的其它有机电子器件中,诸如在感光器、薄膜晶体管、太阳能电池、传感器等。

采用物理汽相沉积制造一组发绿光的OLED。所有器件包括涂敷在玻璃基板上的氧化铟锡和Mg:Ag阴极。所有器件具有位于阳极和阴极之间的三层发光区域,该三层发光区域包括:(1)60nm NPB空穴传输层;(2)15nm电致发光层,其包括AlQ3+0.8%10-2(苯并噻唑基)-2,3,6,7-四氢基-1,1,7,7-四甲基-1H,5H,11H-(1)苯并焦吡喃基(6,7,-8-ij)喹嗪-11-酮(C545T);以及(3)45nm电子传输层。下述制造,器件在25mA/cm2恒定电流下工作。在该电流下测量并记录各器件的驱动电压和亮度,如同在器件制造(t0)以及50小时(t50)之后,立即传导的视觉检查结构。

对照器件1在高驱动电压下工作。对照器件2在低驱动电压下工作,但是在50小时之后其外观不再均匀表明低形态稳定性。另一方面,本发明的器件3-5,在5.1V甚至更低的驱动电压下工作,并且在50小时保持均匀的外观表面所述器件表现出令人满意的形态稳定性。
对于说明书和所附权利要求书,除非另有说明,在说明书和权利要求中使用的表示数量、百分比或比例的任意数值以及其它数值都可以理解为通过术语“大约”在所有实例中可以修改上述数值。因此,除非具体指出,在说明书和所附权利要求中提到的数字参数为可以根据本公开要获得的理想特性改变的近似值。至少,不希望限定权利要求等同范围的申请,至少应该根据记载的主要数字数量并通过将其应用于普通完整技术中解释该数字参数。
应该注意除非特别以及明确限定为一个指示物,在说明书和所附权利要求中所用到的单数形式“一(a)”、“一个(an)”和“该(the)”包括多个指示物。因此,例如,“一掺杂物’’包括两种或者多种掺杂物。希望不限定这里所用到的术语“包括”及其语法变形,从而使得所列出的项目不排除可能替代或者添加到所列项目种的其他可能项目。
尽管描述的是具体的实施方式,但是应用者或其他的熟练技术人员将能够联想到那些目前无法预见或目前可能无法预见的替代方案、修改、变型、改进和基本上等同的技术方案。因此,提交的且可能修改的所附权利要求意欲涵盖所有这些替代方案、修改、改进和基本上等同的技术方案。
Claims (20)
1、一种有机发光器件,含有:
(a)阴极;
(b)发光区域;以及
(c)阳极,
其中所述发光区域含有电子传输层,该电子传输层含有掺杂有无机材料和有机材料其中至少之一的三嗪。
2、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,所述发光区域含有多层。
3、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,还含有空穴传输材料。
4、根据权利要求3所述的器件,其特征在于,还含有包含所述空穴传输材料的空穴传输层。
5、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,所述掺杂剂是选自电子传输材料、空穴传输材料、双极电荷传输材料、电致发光材料以及荧光染料的有机材料。
6、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,所述掺杂剂含有下述其中至少之一的无机材料:SiO、SiO2、Li、Cs、K、Na、Mg、Ca以及Sc。
7、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,所述三嗪为4,4’-双-[2-(4,6-二苯基-13,5-三嗪基)]-1,1’-联苯。
8、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,相对于所述电子传输层的总体积,所述掺杂剂的体积百分比小于约49%。
9、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,相对于所述电子传输层的总体积,所述掺杂剂的体积百分比小于约10%。
10、根据权利要求5所述的器件,其特征在于,所述掺杂剂选自三(8-羟基喹啉)铝、N,N’-二(萘-1-基)-N,N’-二苯基-联苯胺、2-t-丁基-9,10-二(2-萘基)蒽、2-(1,1,-二甲基乙基)-9,10-双(2-萘基)蒽、9,10-二(2-萘基)蒽、9,10-二(2-苯基)蒽、9-双(苯基)蒽、二萘嵌苯、2,5,8,11-四-t-丁二嵌萘苯以及红荧烯。
11、根据权利要求1所述的器件,其特征在于,所述电子传输层含有掺杂有三(8-羟基喹啉)铝的4,4’-双-[2-(4,6-二苯基-13,5-三嗪基)]-1,1’-联苯。
12、根据权利要求11所述的器件,其特征在于,相对所述电子传输材料的总体积,所述三(8-羟基喹啉)铝的体积百分比小于约49%。
13、根据权利要求11所述的器件,其特征在于,相对所述电子传输材料的总体积,所述三(8-羟基喹啉)铝的体积百分比小于约20%。
14、根据权利要求11所述的器件,其特征在于,相对所述电子传输材料的总体积,所述三(8-羟基喹啉)铝的体积百分比小于约5%。
15、根据权利要求4所述的有机发光器件,其特征在于,
所述电子传输层含有掺杂有三(8-羟基喹啉)铝的4,4’-双-[2-(4,6-二苯基-13,5-三嗪基)]-1,1’-联苯;
所述发光区域含有三(8-羟基喹啉)铝和蒽其中至少之一;以及
所述空穴传输层含有N,N’-二(萘-1-基)-N,N’-二苯基-联苯胺。
16、一种含有至少一有机发光器件的显示器,所述有机发光器件含有:
(a)阴极;
(b)发光区域;以及
(c)阳极,
其中所述发光区域含有电子传输层,该电子传输层含有掺杂有无机材料和有机材料中至少之一的三嗪。
17、根据权利要求16所述的显示器,其特征在于,所述有机发光器件还含有空穴传输材料。
18、根据权利要求16所述的显示器,其特征在于,所述发光区域含有多层。
19、一种含有掺杂有无机材料和有机材料其中至少之一的三嗪的电子传输材料。
20、根据权利要求19所述的电子传输材料,其特征在于,含有掺杂有三(8-羟基喹啉)铝的4,4’-双-[2-(4,6-二苯基-13,5-三嗪基)]-1,1’-联苯。
