Abstract
基于例如具有位于其前面的偏振镜(6)的LCD显示器(5),一种镜子设备(1)能同时用于显示目的。偏振镜(2)具有的特性是,它不干扰来自显示器(5)的光的透射,但却反射来自屏幕区域外面的光。偏振镜(2)内嵌在传统镜子(4,8)中。
Description
本发明涉及包括显示设备的镜子。
作为实例,可以想到大镜子,象洗澡间镜子,镜子的部分表面是用来作为显示目的的。其他的实例是中等尺寸的镜子,象卡车外面的镜子、刮脸室里的镜子、梳妆台镜子或试衣间里的全长度的镜子,或者甚至镜子墙。
这样的镜子在待审批的于2002年3月18日提出的欧洲申请序列号02076069.2和于2002年10月17日提出的序列号02079306.3(=PH NL02.1038)中有所描述。本镜子功能通过引入一个极化反射镜或反射偏振器代替一个在显示设备前面的部分反射层来获得。
然而这种结构一方面有一些缺点,偏振器的反射率在色彩和方向上都显示出(轻微的)不均匀性,导致色彩图案和受扰的反射图像,同时偏振器的反射率也是有限的(大约50%,这限制了某些应用(例如:汽车))。
另一方面,现今可得到的反射偏振器在尺寸上是有限的,这妨碍了在(特)大镜子方面的应用,同时其价格也相当昂贵,基本上是普通镜子价格的好几倍。
本发明的目标之一是至少部分地克服上述问题。为此目的,依据本发明的一个镜子包含了一个至少部分反射的层和一个包含了显示设备的用作观看目的的极化反射镜。
一个部分反射层,当其位于显示设备的前面时,减少了上述不均匀性。另一方面,当该镜子具有一个包含一反射层的第一部分和一个从极化反射镜至少部分透射光线的第二部分时,一个完全反射层可用在显示设备区域以外的区域。
通常极化反射镜具有一个第一平面,该第一平面反射第一种偏振光到一个观看边,该极化反射镜透过第二种偏振光并安装了一个显示设备在其非观看边,该显示设备在使用中提供第二种偏振光。该显示设备在使用中发射或反射(偏振的)光。
通过“具有反射第一种偏振光的第一平面”,这意味着一个镜平面担当了一个偏振面。在使用时,在偏振面上入射的光的一定波长范围内的光将被分成两个分量,一个分量由偏振面反射,一个分量透过偏振面。通常最普遍的认识是,光分成的两个分量具有线性偏振的、垂直的偏振方向。另一种说法是光可被分成右旋和左旋圆或者椭圆偏振。
这种镜子的第一种可能的应用是一种交互的浴镜。当使用者站在镜子面前并同时例如刷牙或刮脸时,该镜子显示(优选地个性化的)新闻或天气预报之类的信息。对于孩子,在刷牙时,所述镜子的同一个或者另一个显示器可以显示交互的指令(例如通过卡通人物的方式),以便学会刷牙(的时机)。在洗澡或理发过程中,该镜子可以进一步用来显示电视或电影。
这种镜子也可以作为一个便携的交互设备,例如一个钱包镜,或用于汽车行业,其中通过一个CCD照相机观看到的死角可以在后视镜里直接显示。
优选地,该镜子在显示设备区域上的反射层包含一个孔。在孔里的一个(薄的)半透射半反射层再次减少了上述的不均匀性。
为了防止显示区域和“完全镜像”区域的可见性,从孔里向外指示的方向看,孔边缘处反射层的反射率是增加的。一个边缘区域的(装饰)盖也是可能的。
另一个实施例在其观看面还有一个半透明的镜子。

图1显示用作观看目的的镜子1具有反射光线的镜子2,因此一个人3看见了他的影像3’(以及背景,未显示)。根据本发明,该镜子在位于玻璃衬底4上的反射层8里面具有一个孔9(参见图2)。再者,该镜子在其非观看面具有一个显示设备5。
在本例中的显示设备5是一个液晶显示设备,在两个衬底(玻璃或塑料或者任何其他合适的材料)之间具有液晶材料。由于大多数液晶显示设备是基于偏振效应,显示设备5在使用过程中基本上发射偏振光。通常,通过液晶显示效应调制来自逆光的光。由于液晶显示器是基于偏振效应,显示设备5包含一个第一偏振器和一个第二偏振器(或分析器),它们透过一些偏振(方向)的光。
另一方面在某些应用中,甚至对偏振来自例如(O)LED或其他显示器的光以获得在镜子应用中关于反射图像的显示信息的强对比效果有吸引力。
像在待审批的于2002年3月18日提出的欧洲申请序列号02076069.2和于2002年10月17日提出的序列号02079306.3(=PH NL02.1038)中讨论的,本镜子功能通过引进一个极化反射镜或反射偏振器来获得,其中镜子(平面)只反射的第一类偏振(方向)的光(基本上50%反射,由图2中箭头14所示),但透过由显示器5产生的第二类偏振(方向)的光(100%透射或发射,由图2中箭头15所示)。
包含显示器5和偏振镜6的镜子显示器7,集成或内嵌在镜子2里,镜子2反射基本上所有的光线(辐射)(多达100%的透射或发射,如图2中箭头13所示)。
在多数应用里,镜子2比镜子显示器7大(很多)。在显示区域之外,镜子是一个普通的镜子。在显示区域,反射层是不存在的,因此镜子显示器是可见的。两个区域的反射性质不需要一样。然而,如果两个区域的反射率(以及其他的光学参数,比如颜色)选择成一样的,过渡将不那么明显。图3显示另一个实施例,在其中所述的过渡被进一步掩盖了。从孔里向外指示的方向来看,在孔9的边缘11上的反射层8的反射率能是增加的。在1毫米至20毫米之间的距离内可达到优化增加。这要么可以通过使用反射层8的倾斜边缘11来获得,或者当使用一个由这样的反射微粒成分来组成反射层时,通过例如逐渐缩小反射微粒的浓度来获得。在图3里的箭头14,15,16具有在与图2中一样的含义。
在显示的实施例里,感觉到的显示亮度是最优的,与此同时显示区域在显示器关掉时当作镜子。另外,在非显示区域的镜子属性可以优化为镜子来使用,并且偏振镜的尺寸可以限制在显示器尺寸(减少成本并允许大尺寸的镜子)。
在图4的实施例中,在孔9内的反射材料的一薄层8’(比镜子2其余部分的反射层8要薄)。镜子2现在有两种不同的区域,显示区和非显示区,每一区域有不同的透射/反射率。镜子2的显示区域比非显示区域具有较低的反射率和较高的透射率。通过调整显示区域的反射率和透射率,可以在反射率(镜子功能)和感觉到的显示亮度之间获得一种平衡。通过选择非显示区域的反射率与前面的镜子(在显示区域)和偏振镜相结合的反射性一样,可以最小化两个区域之间感觉到的差异。其他光学属性(比如颜色)也可以匹配。特别是对较小的镜子,反射材料的薄层8’可以覆盖镜子2的整个部分,如在图5里所示。在图4和图5里箭头14,15,16具有与在图2和图3里相似的含义。
图6最后显示了在图3实施例上的变体,它在图3实施例的前面还包含了另外一层半透明的镜子12,镜子12具有在玻璃感光底片17上提供的部分反射部分透射层16。在这种情况下,局部透明的镜子2的反射层8的位置可能有两种不同的替换。如果放置在偏振镜6的一边,显示和非显示区域之间过渡的可见度将会最小化。如果放置在半透明的镜子12的一边,非显示区域的视差效果将会最小化。
本发明的保护范围不局限于描述的实施例。例如在镜子里可以集成一个以上的显示器,然而可以想象许多其他应用领域(后视镜,梳妆室,等等)。并且在图4和图6中的实施例里,从孔里向外指示的方向看过来,可以再次增加反射层8在孔9的边缘11的反射率。
另外,根据应用类型,过渡区域(边缘)可具有一个诸如彩色条纹或者其他合适的设计的屏蔽。
本发明在于每个新颖的特性特征以及特性特征的每个组合。在权利要求中的引用数字不限制其保护范围。动词“包含”和其变体的使用并不排除权利要求中陈述之外的那些元件的存在。在元件前使用的词“一”或“一个”不排除多个该元件的存在。
Claims (8)
1.一种镜子(1),包含一个至少部分反射层(8),和一个包含显示设备(5)的用作观看目的的偏振镜。
2.如在权利要求1中所述的镜子,具有包含一个反射层(8)的第一部分,和至少部分地透射来自偏振镜(6)的光的第二部分。
3.如在权利要求1或2中所述的镜子,偏振镜具有反射第一种偏振光到观看边的第一平面,该镜子透过第二种偏振光,并且在其非观看边具有一个显示设备,该显示设备在使用中提供第二种偏振光。
4.如权利要求2中所述的镜子,在显示设备区域上的反射层中包含一个孔(9)。
5.如权利要求4中所述的镜子,在孔中包含一个半透射半反射层(10)。
6.如权利要求4或5中所述的镜子,其中从孔里向外指示的方向看,在孔的边缘(11)上的反射层的反射率是增加的。
7.如权利要求2中所述的镜子,在其观看边具有另外一个半透明的镜子(12)。
8.如权利要求4中所述的镜子,其中孔的边缘是隐藏的。
