Abstract

利用本超声波粘结方法和装置,不管外界温度如何以及结构如何简单,均可适当地进行超声波粘结。该装置包括一用于产生超声波振动的超声波振荡器(10)、一设置在该超声波振荡器中用于超声波振荡的触头(12)以及一用于感应触头(12)温度的温度传感器(18)。设置一控制装置(16),用于检测触头(12)温度并控制超声波振荡器(10)在触头(12)与一待粘结物体相接触的状态中的振荡时间,使该振荡时间与触头(12)温度负相关。

Description

超声波粘结方法和装置
本发明涉及一种利用超声波振荡通过加热和熔合来粘结片状树脂材料的超声波粘结方法及其装置。
到目前为止,已知的超声波振荡粘结装置包括一用于产生超声波振动的超声波振荡器以及一设置在超声波振荡器中的超声波振荡触头。它用于通过将超声波振荡触头压于需要彼此粘结的材料并使其振荡而加热和熔合物体。
该超声波粘结中的一种控制方法包括检测触头温度并控制触头超声波振荡幅度的方法。在这种控制方法中,例如日本专利公开No.2-35661或日本专利公开No.63-315223中所揭示的,用安装于保持件或托座的诸如热敏电阻之类的温度感应元件检测温度,与基准温度比较,在温度低于基准温度时提高超声波振荡幅度,而在温度高于基准温度时降低振荡幅度。
而且,如日本专利公开No.62-140823或日本专利公开No.5-299480中所揭示的,还提出有一种用于检测具有诸如加热器之类的加热装置的超声波触头的温度的控制装置,它控制加热装置以使触头保持于一恒定温度。
在超声波振荡幅度控制的上述现有技术中,当在超声波粘结中提高振荡幅度时,在诸如片状树脂材料之类的粘结材料中可能产生局部的破裂。这是因为超声波振荡幅度的升高导致突然的能量增加。在薄片状材料的情况下,在其受压区域内很可能发生局部破裂。更坏的是,引起局部破裂的状况并不是不变的,这使得很难准确控制能量限度以不致引起局部破裂。
此外,使超声波触头保持恒定温度的方法可适用于熔解温度相对较高的场合,诸如金属焊接。另一方面,在树脂等的粘结场合,熔解温度相对较低,不能设置加热器或任何其它的加热装置。相反,由于超声波触头因连续用于超声波粘结而温度升高,因而需要抑制温度的升高。但是,为了抑制这种温度升高,用送风的方法使其冷却并不十分有效,而若安装冷却装置,则会增加设备和生产成本。尤其是,在片状树脂材料的超声波粘结中,当温度变得过高时,材料会变脆。因此,触头的温度控制已成为一个严重的问题。
本发明正是鉴于现有技术中的上述问题而提出的,因而其目的在于提供一种无论外界环境如何均能够以简单的结构进行适当粘结的超声波粘结方法和装置。
为了实现上述目的,按照本发明,提供了一种超声波粘结方法,使一超声波振荡器的触头与一片状树脂材料相接触,同时使该片状树脂材料覆置于一待粘结物体上并使触头产生超声波振荡,其特征在于,检测触头的温度,将触头与片状树脂材料相接触状态中的振荡时间设定成与触头温度负相关,并将片状树脂材料熔接于物体。紧临用触头粘结片状树脂材料之前检测触头的温度。
待粘结的物体可以是拉链的具有连接元件的拉链带,片状树脂材料是加强材料,诸如需要熔接于拉链带的安装底部止挡件的部分、也就是拉链带的端部处的加强带。
而且,按照本发明,提供了一种超声波粘结装置,它包括一产生超声波振动的超声波振荡器、一设置在该超声波振荡器中用于施加超声波振荡的触头、一感应触头温度的温度传感器以及一检测触头温度并控制超声波振荡器在触头与一片状树脂材料相接触的状态中的振荡时间的控制装置,使该振荡时间与触头温度负相关。温度传感器是非接触式的,它在待熔解物体附近感应触头的温度。
图1是本发明一实施例的超声波粘结装置的示意图。
图2是表示该实施例的超声波粘结装置的触头温度与触头振荡时间之间的适当关系的图。
图3是一个实施例的示意图,其中本发明的超声波粘结装置用于粘结拉链的加强带。
图4是在用该实施例的超声波粘结装置粘结拉链的加强带时触头区域的纵向剖视图。
图5是该实施例的超声波粘结装置将拉链的加强带粘结于一起状态的触头区域的纵向剖视图。
图6是用该实施例的超声波粘结装置粘结有加强带的拉链串的俯视图。
图7是用该实施例的超声波粘结装置粘结有加强带的拉链的俯视图。
下面参照图1和图2来描述本发明的一个实施例。如图1所示,该实施例的超声波粘结装置包括一产生超声波振动的超声波振荡器10和一个一体安装于超声波振荡器10中用于施加超声波振荡的触头12。超声波振荡器10和触头12连接于一诸如电动机之类的驱动装置,并可竖直移动。超声波振荡器10和驱动装置14连接于一控制装置16并由该控制装置16控制,其具体控制的实现将在后面描述。在触头12的下端附近设置一温度传感器18,用于感应触头12的温度而无需与其相接触。温度传感器18的检测输出被输入到一用于检测温度的温度检测装置20,该温度检测装置20的输出被输入到控制装置16。
该实施例的超声波粘结装置用于使薄片状树脂材料22与一待熔接的片状物体22彼此熔接于一起。片状树脂材料22和物体24被放置于一砧台26上,该砧台是设置在触头12下面的托座,并且片状树脂材料22和物体24的边缘在由触头12与砧台26夹持时被彼此粘结。
在粘结片状树脂材料22和物体24时,触头12的温度在其使用开始阶段设定得较低,并随着触头12的继续使用而升高。在片状树脂材料22和物体24的超声波粘结中,在超声波振荡的幅度和频率保持恒定的条件下,如果触头温度较低并且粘结振荡时间较短,则抗扭等粘结强度会变弱。在相同条件下,如果触头温度较高并且粘结振荡时间较长,则片状树脂材料容易变脆。综合这一关系,在图2的实线所示区域(a)中,可合适地进行超声波粘结,而在虚线所示的外部区域中,也就是在振荡时间短于或触头温度低于区域(a)的区域中,粘结强度不足,或是在振荡时间长于或触头温度高于区域(a)的区域中,粘结状态变脆。因此,通过检测触头12的温度并根据该温度调节振荡时间,将在触头12与片状树脂材料22相接触的状态中的超声波振荡器10的振荡时间控制成位于如图2所示的区域(a)范围之内。
如图2所示,在触头温度和振荡时间的合适的关系中,振荡时间设定成与触头温度负相关,这以下面公式表示:
Y=B-AX其中,Y是振荡时间,X是触头12的温度,A是表示区域(a)的斜度的一个正值,并且是上述公式的用于控制振荡时间的一个系数,B是触头12温度假设为0时的振荡时间。
对触头12的温度检测最好紧临触头12对片状树脂材料22和物体24的粘结之前进行,以使得可以实现更准确的温度设定,并可确保粘结。最好用一种非接触式红外线检测温度传感器作为温度传感器18,也可以使用热电偶或半导体传感器。
按照该实施例的超声波粘结方法和装置,感应触头12的温度而不与其相接触,并以这样一种方式控制振荡时间,使触头温度与粘结振荡时间之间的关系处于有利于粘结的条件。因此,如果触头温度随着触头12的继续使用而升高,粘结可始终在合适的条件下进行。而且,通过控制振荡时间,粘结状况可保持恒定。这样,与控制超声波振荡的幅度相比,不会将突然的能量加到片状材料上,因而几乎不会发生局部破裂。而且,由于是对时间进行控制,因而可以实现方便而准确的控制。
本发明的超声波粘结方法和装置中所使用的控制装置和温度检测装置既可以由若干分开的电路或专门的装置构成。或者,它们可以与一合适的计算机系统构成一体,也可以在功能上分成一温度检测器和一控制装置。其结构在此不具体说明。
下面将参照图3到图7来描述本发明的超声波粘结方法和装置的一个实例。该实例设计用来将加强带34、35粘结于图7所示拉链40的拉链带30、32的前、后面,这种加强带是片状树脂材料的透明加强件。用于加强带的材料可包括聚酯弹性体、聚酰胺弹性体、尼龙6、尼龙12等。拉链带30、32由诸如聚酯或尼龙之类的合成纤维或者诸如棉线之类的天然纤维织造或编织而成。
如以上实施例中所说明的,该实例的超声波粘结这种包括一超声波振荡器10以及一个一体安装于超声波振荡器10用于熔接的触头12。超声波振荡器10和触头12安装于一驱动装置14,以实现升降动作。在一用于接纳触头12的砧台26上也设置一驱动装置28。该驱动装置28还连接于一控制装置16,用于使砧台26与触头12的升降动作相配合而在触头12的相对侧上下移动。
超声波振荡器10和驱动装置14、28连接于控制装置16,在那里控制特定的升降动作和超声波振荡,如在后面将描述的。一用于感应触头12前端温度的温度传感器18的检测输出被输入到一检测温度的温度检测装置20,该温度检测装置20的输出被输入到控制装置16。
利用这种超声波粘结装置,需要粘结加强带34、35的拉链带30、32沿垂直于图3表面的方向输送。在拉链带30、32的彼此相邻的侧边处一体地设置球形的芯部36、37。该芯部36、37将设置连接元件38。或者,若不在拉链带30、32中形成芯部,可直接将连接元件38装配于拉链带30、32。
如图6所示,加强带34、35被粘结于拉链带30、32需要安装底部止挡件42的部分,也就是沿该对拉链带30、32的芯部36、37安装的拉链串41的连接元件38的行的端部。然后,在没有连接元件38的一空挡39处切断拉链串41,并将底部止挡件42连接于加强带34、35的表面,如图7所示。
如图3所示,一进料器输送彼此平行并与拉链带30、32成直角的加强带34、35。加强带34、35通过进料辊44、45间歇地输送到拉链带30、32。在触头12与进料辊44、45之间设置一切割器46,用于将加强带34、35切割成与拉链带30、32基本相同的宽度,并在触头12与切割器46之间设置一夹持器48,用于暂时夹持被切成特定宽度的加强带34、35。
在夹持器48穿过触头12的相对侧,有一夹紧装置50,用于拉出切断的加强带34、35并拉入触头12与砧台26之间的空间。该夹紧装置50具有两对夹持部分52、54,切断的加强带34、35被夹持于每对夹持部分52、54之间,然后被拉出夹持器48。
如图4所示,该实例中的触头12在与拉链带30、32的芯部36、37相应的部分处形成有半圆形凹槽55、56。各半圆形凹槽55、56的直径基本等于各芯部36、37的直径。同样,砧台26在与芯部36、37相应的部分处形成有半圆形凹槽57、58,各半圆形凹槽57、58的直径基本等于各芯部36、37的直径。在砧台26的凹槽57、58之间形成一个空间60,凹槽57、58的彼此相邻的边缘形成为切割边缘61、62,加强带在被夹靠于触头12的凹槽55、56的该边缘时由其切断。
在该实例的超声波粘结装置的操作中,拉链带30、32输送于触头12与砧台26之间。当拉链带需要熔接加强带34、35的部分、也就是连接元件38的一侧端部处于触头12与砧台26之间的位置时,拉链带30、32停止。然后,加强带34、35被拉出到拉链带30、32前、后表面上的加强带安装部分。为了拉出加强带34、35,由进料辊44、45送入夹持器48的加强带34、35分别被切割器46切成各拉链带30、32的宽度,并且在由夹持器48夹持时被切断的加强带34、35被夹紧装置50拉出到拉链带30、32的前、后表面。夹紧装置50前后移动,使拉链带30、32能定位于两对夹持部分52、54之间。这样,拉链带30、32可以不干扰加强带34、35或夹紧装置50的动作。
而后,触头12和砧台26彼此相对运动,并夹压拉链带30、32和加强带34、35。此时,如图5所示,加强带34、35由触头12的凹槽55、56和砧台26的凹槽57、58包绕于拉链带30、32的芯部36、37,并且加强带34、35在芯部36、37之间的多余部分被切割边缘61、62切断而落入空间60。
在拉链带30、32和加强带34、35由触头12和砧台26夹持的同时,超声波振荡器10产生超声波振动,从而在触头12中产生超声波振荡。紧临触头12降下之前,触头12前端的温度由温度传感器18通过温度检测装置20感应出,并且控制装置16设定超声波振荡器10的超声波振荡的振荡时间。如上面提过的,振荡时间是按照与触头12温度负相关的公式来设定。当加强带34、35的粘结完成后,拉链带30、32被输送一条拉链40的长度。然后,下一段粘结于部分拉链带的加强带处于触头12与砧台26之间,以此同样地重复上述的粘结。
当拉链带30、32的加强带34、35由该实例的超声波粘结装置粘结时,触头12的温度在操作开始阶段较低。因此,即使触头12温度在连续操作后升高,整个过程中粘结均可在最佳粘结条件下进行。即使环境温度随时间或季节变化,加强带34、35的粘结状况也不会变动。尤其是,通过在紧临粘结操作之前感应触头12的温度,可以在更准确的条件下进行粘结。此外,由于温度传感器18是非接触式的,因而对触头12的温度、包括触头12周围的环境温度的感应不会受超声波振荡的影响,从而可以在最佳条件下实现粘结。
本发明的超声波粘结方法和装置不应仅局限于所示的实施例或实例,而可以适当选择待粘结的物体。而且,也可以适当选择触头和温度传感器。触头的温度和超声波振荡的振荡时间不要求是线性的关系,只要它们彼此负相关即可。
按照本发明的超声波粘结方法和装置,由于超声波振荡的振荡时间是通过感应触头温度而进行控制,因而可以在单位时间的能量保持于相对较低值的同时实现合适的超声波粘结。尤其是,在片状树脂材料的熔接中,可实现准确的粘结而不会造成不良粘结或脆性。而且,由于振荡时间的控制相对较为容易,因而可实现更准确的控制。
此外,按照本发明,由于超声波振荡的振荡时间是根据紧临片状树脂材料粘结之前的触头12温度来进行设定的,因而可以确保准确的粘结操作,同时保持稳定的质量。
通过使用非接触式温度传感器,可以感应触头温度,包括其环境温度。因此,可以考虑外部环境而对超声波粘结的时间进行设定。从而,可以实现更准确和更稳定的粘结。
而且,通过将这种超声波粘结方法和这种应用于拉链的加强件的粘结,可以以更高的粘结强度稳定地粘结加强带。

Claims (5)

1.一种超声波粘结方法,使一超声波振荡器(10)的触头(12)与一片状树脂材料(22)相接触,同时使该片状树脂材料(22)覆置于一待粘结物体(24)上并使触头(12)超声波振荡,其特征在于,感应触头(12)的温度,将触头(12)与片状树脂材料(22)相接触状态中的振荡时间设定成与触头(12)温度负相关,并将片状树脂材料(22)熔接于物体。
2.如权利要求1所述的超声波粘结方法,其特征在于,紧临用触头(12)粘结片状树脂材料(22)之前感应触头(12)的温度。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的超声波粘结方法,其特征在于,所述待粘结的物体(24)是拉链(40)的具有连接元件(38)的拉链带(30,32),片状树脂材料是待熔接于拉链带(30,32)端部处的底部止挡件(42)安装部分的加强材料(34,35)。
4.一种超声波粘结装置,它包括一产生超声波振动的超声波振荡器(10)、一设置在该超声波振荡器(10)中用于超声波振荡的触头(12)、一感应触头(12)温度的温度传感器(18)以及一检测触头(12)温度并控制超声波振荡器(10)在触头(12)与一片状树脂材料(22)相接触的状态中的振荡时间的控制装置(16),使该振荡时间与触头(12)温度负相关。
5.如权利要求4所述的超声波粘结装置,其特征在于,所述温度传感器(18)是非接触式的。
