Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、通常主として合成樹脂同士を溶接する超音波
振動子を用いた溶接装置に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
超音波振動子を用いた所謂超音波溶接装置は、被溶接物
を重ねて作業台上に取り付け、被溶接物と対向して設け
た超音波振動子のホーン先端に取り付けた溶接工具を介
して被溶接物に超音波振動エネルギを印加して溶接を行
なうものである。この際、溶接工具を加熱し、被溶接物
に補助的に熱エネルギを与えて溶接を行なう装置も実用
化されている。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
然しなから、上記従来の装置では溶接工具の温度制御が
適正になされず、このため特に装置の始動時には被溶接
物が溶接される際の実際の温度が安定し最適なものとな
るまでに長時間を要し、その間、被溶接物が過熱して流
れてしまったり、温度が低過ぎて完全に溶接が行なわれ
なかったりして大量の不良品が出来るという問題点があ
った。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
而して、上記の問題点は、溶接工具を加熱する装置と、
溶接工具の温度を検出する装置と、溶接工具の温度を一
定に保持するよう上記加熱装置を制御する装置とを設け
ることによって解決される。
更に、上記溶接工具の温度は、超音波撮動のエネルギ、
溶接加圧力、加圧時間等溶接条件が一定すると溶接終了
時の工具と作業台間の音響インピーダンス又は機械イン
ピーダンス、即ち被溶接物の溶接状態をパラメータとし
て間接的に検出することができる。
〔作 用〕
叙上の如く構成することによって、始動時等にも最短時
間内に溶接工具を適正な温度とすることができ、以後も
その温度が正確に制御されるので、始動時の材料の無駄
が無くなり、且つ作業中は常に被溶接物が溶接される際
の実際の温度が最適値に保たれるものである。
〔実施例〕
以下、図面を参照しつ一本発明の詳細な説明する。
図面は本発明の一実施例を示す説明図である。
図中、1は溶接ユニット、2は超音波振動子、3はホー
ン、4は溶接工具、5は基台、6.6は基台5上に敷か
れたX軸方向に延びるレール、7は作業台、8.8は作
業台7下部に取り付けられた車輪、9.9は被溶接物、
10は作業台7をX軸方向に移動せしめるモータ、11
は溶接ユニット1をY軸方向に移動せしめるモータ、1
2は溶接ユニット1をX軸方向に移動せしめるモータ、
13は高周波発振器、14は溶接工具4に巻回し。たコ
イルに高周波誘導加熱電流を供給する誘導加熱用電源、
15は温度検出装置、15aは温度センサ、16は制御
装置、17は音響インピーダンス検出センサである。
而して、溶接ユニット1は超音波振動子2、ホーン3、
溶接工具4より成り、図示しないコラム又はアーム等に
よりX軸及びY軸方向に移動自在に支持され、モータ1
1の駆動によりY軸方向に、モータ12の駆動によりX
軸方向に移動せしめられる。
超音波振動子2は高周波発振器13によって高周波電流
を供給され、超音波振動を発生し、そのエネルギはホー
ン3を介して溶接工具4に伝えられる。
溶接工具4はホーン3の先端に取り付けられ、これには
図示しない誘導コイルが取り付けられており、誘導加熱
用電源14により電流を供給され誘導加熱される。
作業台7の下部には基台5上に敷かれたX軸方向に延び
るレール6.6上を転がる車輪8.8が取り付けられ、
作業台7は基台5上でモータ10の駆動によりX軸方向
に移動する。
被溶接物9.9は溶接すべき部位が重ねられて作業台7
上に取り付けられる。
温度検出装置15は溶接工具4に接続される熱電対やサ
ーミスタとか近接配置される放射温度計等の温度センサ
15aを有し、これによって溶接工具4の温度を検知し
、溶接工具4が所定の温度を維持するように制御するも
のである。
又、被溶接物9.9の溶接部の仕上り状態は、工具4と
作業台7間の音響インピーダンスによって検出、判別で
きるから、両者の関係を被溶接物9.9の材質、板厚等
により予め制御装置16にインブー/ )しておけば逆
に工具4と作業台7間の音響インピーダンスをパラメー
タとして、被溶接物9.9の溶接部の仕上り状態等を知
ることができ、さらに、この音響インピーダンス(又は
機械インピーダンス)を溶接終了時に検出して次溶接工
程に於ける溶接工具4の温度を制御し、さらに、超音波
振動子2の振動エネルギ、溶接工具4による溶接加圧力
、加工時間(又は時期)等を制御することができる。
制御装置16は、温度センサ15a及び温度検出装置1
5からの信号に基づいて工具等の温度を演算により求め
、これに基づいて誘導加熱用電源14を制御して工具4
の温度を制御すると共に、高周波発振器13を制御して
超音波振動子2から発生する超音波振動エネルギがその
温度で溶接するのに最適となるように制御する。
また、制御装置16は作業台7をX軸方向に移動せしめ
るモータ10、溶接ユニット1をY軸方向に移動せしめ
るモータ11及び溶接ユニット1をX軸方向に移動せし
めるモータ12の作動を制御する。
熔接を行なう際には、モータ10及びモータ11を作動
させて溶接工具4が被溶接物9.9の溶接すべき部位と
対向するよう作業台7をX軸方向に、溶接ユニット1を
Y軸方向に移動せしめ、その位置でモータ12を作動さ
せて溶接ユニット1をZ軸方向に移動せしめ、溶接工具
4を所定の圧力で被溶接物9.9に押圧して溶接する。
次にモータ10及びモータ11を作動させて溶接工具4
が被溶接物9.9の次に溶接すべき部位と対向する位置
となるよう作業台7及び溶接ユニット1を移動せしめ、
上記と同様にして被溶接物9.9を押圧溶接し、以下こ
れを繰り返して被溶接物9.9に所望の溶接を施すもの
である。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明は叙上の如く構成されるから本発明によるときは
、溶接工具の温度が適正に制御され、始動時にも材料の
無駄がなく、被溶接物が強固且つ確実に溶接され、また
、このため超音波振動子の出力が小さくて済み、熔接し
得る板厚の限界を増大することができる。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)超音波振動子を介して溶接用の工具を支持し、こ
    れにより作業台上に重ねられた被溶接物を押圧溶接する
    溶接装置に於て、 溶接工具を加熱する装置と、 溶接工具の温度を検出する装置と、 溶接工具の温度を一定に保持するよう上記加熱装置を制
    御する装置とを具備する上記の溶接装置。
  2. (2)工具温度を検出する装置が、工具と作業台間の音
    響インピーダンスをパラメータとして温度を検出する装
    置である特許請求の範囲第1項記載の溶接装置。
