Abstract

Description
本发明涉及稳定的高湿含量牙膏组合物,所述组合物包括角叉菜胶粘合剂、钙基擦亮剂、润湿剂、表面活性剂、水和牙膏组合物中使用的任选的添加剂以及治疗活性物。更具体而言,本发明涉及一种稳定的高湿含量的牙膏,其中磨光剂为35-50%(重量),水为35-50%(重量),润湿剂为5-15%(重量),角叉菜胶为0.5-0.85%(重量),并且角叉菜胶含量的至少70%是艾特(iota)角叉菜胶。
发明背景
牙膏通常含有下列通用组分:磨光剂或研磨剂、润湿剂、粘合剂或增稠剂、表面活性剂和水。润湿剂和水合并归入赋形剂。另外,可加入提供治疗或美容益处的物质,如杀菌剂、氟化物、香味剂、甜味剂和牙垢抑制剂。牙膏配方中,使用的组分的具体类型和量可以在很大范围内变化。最普通的牙膏含有0.1-8%(重量)粘合剂(常称作增稠剂或胶凝剂)、5-70%(重量)的水、2-70%(重量)润湿剂、5-50%(重量)磨光剂、0.2-20%(重量)表面活性剂和0.1-25%(重量)的其它组分或辅助剂如香味剂、甜味剂、氟化物、抗牙垢剂、杀菌剂、抗结石剂以及其它与牙膏相容的治疗活性物。
为使消费者满意,牙膏配方须含有消费者所习惯的一些优良物理性能。这些性能使牙膏具有诱人的味道、优良的清洁作用,这种牙膏易于漂洗,具有很好的口感,并具有物理稳定性。具有合理的物理稳定性的牙膏在牙膏壳内不易硬化,不会出现相分离如水或香味剂分离。使用者挤出膏体时其外观也很重要。应光滑,并具有悦人的光泽或光滑外观。
已知角叉菜胶是一种有效粘合剂,可提供牙膏配方上述要求的性能。角叉菜胶可形成触变性的凝胶。据报道这类凝胶具有优良的可挤出性,能释放香味,易于漂洗。已知使用卡帕(kappa)角叉菜胶和艾特角叉菜胶作为凝胶牙膏的粘合剂,也可以提供非粘稠的牙膏。
角叉菜胶的通称适用于数十种源白海藻的类似多糖。所有角叉菜胶都含有交替的β1→3和α1→4配糖键连接的重复半乳糖单元,并部分硫酸酯化。角叉胶的类型可以部分通过硫酸酯化的程度而区别。卡帕角叉菜胶具有D-半乳糖-4-硫酸酯-3,6-脱水-D-半乳糖的重复单元,提供约18-25%的硫酸酯含量。艾特角叉菜胶具有D-半乳糖-4-硫酸酯-3,6-脱水-D-半乳糖-2-硫酸酯的重复单元,提供约25-34%的硫酸酯含量。拉姆达(lambda)角叉菜胶具有D-半乳糖-2-硫酸酯-D-半乳糖-2,6-二硫酸酯的重复单元,提供约30-40%的硫酸酯含量。
理论上,可以为消费者提供上述优良物理性能的价廉牙膏。因此要求提供低成本同时又保持要求的性能的牙膏。对那些尽管已建立了良好的牙齿保健,但牙膏仍很贵的地区,这点很重要。降低牙膏成本的一种方法是寻求较低成本的替代物、来代替特定的高成本组分。例如,角叉菜胶就是一种相对贵的组分。当与胶类或其它增稠剂如羧甲基纤维素和黄原胶混合时,有时可减少角叉菜胶的用量。美国专利4,140,757描述了用价廉的合成无定形二氧化硅增稠剂代替牙膏配方中部分角叉菜胶粘合剂。由其它粘合剂代替部分角叉菜胶时,总的粘合剂浓度必须大于仅使用角叉菜胶作为粘合剂时的浓度。
另一种降低牙膏成本的方法是提供较高湿含量的牙膏。预期高湿含量的牙膏一般会较便宜,因为相对于其它组分,水是很便宜的。据报道,牙膏中的水含量可以在5-70%(重量)范围,但大多数牙膏的水含量约为10-25%(重量)。
要获得具有要求物理性能的高湿含量牙膏极富挑战性。相对较高湿含量常发生低粘度和/相分离问题。储存期间,水会向下运动,而油如香味剂则向上运动。对高湿含量牙膏,消费者注意到端部的“湿帽”或香味剂浓度,根据已填充的管是帽朝上还是朝下贮存。相分离也会对挤出的膏体光泽有不利影响。
已知含有角叉菜胶的高湿含量牙膏。下面的美国专利描述了包含角叉菜胶作为粘合剂,湿含量大于约30%(重量)的各种牙膏:4,340,583、4,814,160、4,826,675、5,096,699、5,208,009和5,356,615。含有角叉菜胶的高湿含量牙膏一般配有润湿剂和/或使用更多或另外的增稠剂,润湿剂量为大于20%(重量)。
本发明的一个目的是研制具有良好物理性能的高湿含量牙膏,这种牙膏配方中角叉菜胶浓度不大于约0.85%,润湿剂总浓度不大于约15%。本发明的第二目标是提供具有优良的物理性能,不需使用另外的粘合剂的牙膏配方。

发明详细描述
本发明提供的稳定的高湿含量、低成本的牙膏组合物具有优良的综合性能,所述组合物包括约0.5-0.85%(重量)角叉菜胶(至少70%的角叉菜胶是艾特角叉菜胶),约35-50%(重量)水,约35-50%(重量)的钙基磨光剂或研磨剂,约5-15%(重量)润湿剂和约0.5-5%(重量)表面活性剂。可存在的任选组分包括高达约5%(重量)的硅石和少量,0.5-3.0%(重量)的另外的辅助剂如香味剂、防腐剂、甜味剂、氟化物、抗牙垢剂、抗结石剂以及其它能与本发明的牙膏相容的治疗活性物。本说明书中组分的百分数指牙膏中纯组分的重量百分数,除非特别指出。
本发明的一个实施方案中,角叉菜胶重量百分数在约0.55-0.65范围。此实施方案中,水的重量百分数宜在约36-50范围,36-46更好,润湿剂的重量百分数宜约为7-14,磨光剂的重量百分数宜约为40-46,约43-46更好。
本发明的第二个实施方案中,角叉菜胶重量百分数在约0.70-0.80范围。此实施方案中,水的重量百分数宜在约40-50范围,润湿剂的重量百分数宜约为7-14,磨光剂的重量百分数宜约为40-46,约40-43更好。
本发明的组合物克服了高湿含量牙膏的许多问题。具有优良的Cuban值(良好的稠度)和香味剂或水分离的稳定性,并且可延长硬化时间。除了优良的储存期限外,牙膏具有光滑和悦人的光泽的外观。在成本相对较低的配方中达到这些良好性能,很大程度上是因为润湿剂的需要量较小。
本发明的高湿含量牙膏要求用艾特角叉菜胶作为主要的角叉菜胶组分。艾特角叉菜胶占角叉菜胶的至少70%(重量),较好的至少90%(重量)。本发明中,少量(小于30%(重量))其它角叉菜胶,较好是卡帕角叉菜胶可以和艾特角叉菜胶一起使用。角叉菜胶一般含有连接角叉菜胶硫酸酯基的阳离子的混合物,以部分盐的形式提供角叉菜胶。阳离子是碱金属和碱土金属阳离子,如钠、钾和钙。约9-12%的艾特角叉菜胶宜为盐的形式,较好的是钠盐和钾盐,并有很少量(小于1%)的艾特角叉菜胶的钙盐。角叉菜胶宜为中等或高粘度的角叉菜胶。本文中粘度的描述指角叉菜胶在75℃水中的1.5%溶液。术语“高粘度”指至少约50cps的水粘度,“中等粘度”指至少约40-50cps的水粘度,“低粘度”指小于40cps的水粘度。应用于本发明牙膏的较好角叉菜胶可从FMC公司以Viscarin_TP 399购得。另一种较好的角菜胶可从FMC公司以Viscarin_TP 399购得。角叉菜胶的重量百分数在约0.5-0.85%范围。较好的在约0.55-0.80%范围。角叉菜胶可以和少量(0-0.50%(重量))其它粘合剂一起使用,如其它的角叉菜胶、羧甲基纤维素、羧甲基纤维素钠羟基乙基羧乙基纤维素、聚乙烯吡咯烷酮、黄蓍胶、羟基丙基甲基纤维素、乙基纤维素、淀粉、淀粉乙醇酸盐(starch glycolate)、聚乙烯醇、藻酸钠、角豆胶(carob beangum)和亲水性胶体羟乙烯基聚合物如Carbopols_,以制造高湿含量牙膏。
常用的牙膏赋形剂是水和一种或多种润湿剂。这种牙膏中所用的水可以是任何卫生清洁的水如自来水、井水和泉水。使用前,一般去离子化。合适的润湿剂是已知的3-6个碳原子的低级直链或环状多元醇,和它们的混合物。较好的润湿剂是甘油和山梨糖醇。山梨糖醇可以70%的水溶液使用,可以山梨糖醇的形式购得。润湿剂如山梨糖醇的百分数指牙膏中纯的山梨糖醇,除非特别指出。山梨糖醇的重量百分数宜在约7-14%的范围。最好使用甘油-山梨糖醇的混合物。当使用这样的混合物时,较好的甘油量约为0-7%(重量)。也可以使用其它液体多元醇,如聚乙二醇、甘露糖醇、木糖醇、其它的糖醇和聚氧乙烯醇。本发明的优点是在高湿含量配方中不需要大量润湿剂,来弥补低的粘合剂浓度。
本发明钙基磨光剂包括已知可用于牙膏的那些钙基剂。它们是粉末材料,不溶于水或仅有很小的水溶解度,颗粒具正态的粒度分布,其颗粒粒径约为1-40微米为宜,约2-20微米更好。所有这类物质都具有磨光活性,无有害的磨擦。合适的钙基磨光剂的例子包括磷酸二钙、磷酸三钙、碳酸钙、焦磷酸钙、硅酸钙和铝酸钙。这些磨光剂可以和其它磨光剂如结晶硅石、胶态硅石、复合硅铝酸盐、氢氧化铝(包括氧化铝三水合物)、磷酸镁、碳酸镁、膨润土、滑石、氧化铝、硅酸铝和硅石干凝胶一起使用。较好的钙基磨光剂是沉淀碳酸钙(碳酸钙)。
本发明牙膏中使用的表面活性剂(洗涤剂)是通常用于乳化或均匀分散牙膏组分的那些。一般,较好的洗涤剂是阴离子或非离子型或它们的混合物。合适的阴离子型洗涤剂包括月桂基硫酸钠、脂肪酸单甘油酯硫酸酯、硫酸(脂肪族)烷基酯、高级烷芳基磺酸盐、磺基乙酸高级烷基酯、高级烯烃磺酸盐、低级脂族氨基羧酸的高级脂族酰胺、高级烷基聚低级烷氧基(3-100个烷氧基)硫酸酯、和脂肪酸皂。阴离子洗涤剂的例子包括月桂基硫酸钠、加氢椰子油脂肪酸单甘油酯单硫酸钠、N-月桂酰肌氨酸钠和sodium cocate。合适的非离子洗涤剂包括低级亚烷基氧化物如环氧乙烷和环氧丙烷的链。
可任选加入的其他材料包括香味剂、珐琅硬化剂和杀菌化合物。香味剂的例子包括甜味剂糖精、精油如薄荷油、薄荷、冬青、桉树、柠檬和白柠檬。硬化剂例子包括一氟磷酸钠、氟化钠和氟化亚锡。杀菌剂的例子是苯甲酸钠和羟苯甲酯或羟苯乙酯。
本发明的高湿含量牙膏可采用间歇式或连续式方法制造。在美国专利5,236,696(Catiis等)中描述了用于生产本发明牙膏的连续法。
实施例
下面实施例中的牙膏可采用加热法或室温法进行生产。按照下列步骤进行加热法生产:(1)用高速搅拌器搅拌10分钟,将粘合剂分散在润湿剂中形成凝胶。(2)水被加热至80℃,将其加到润湿剂中,继续搅拌15分钟,同时温度保持在65-70℃。(3)将糖精钠和苯甲酸钠干混和。将此干混合物搅拌倒入粘合剂浆料,搅拌15分钟,同时保持温度在65-70℃。(4)用真空装置将该凝胶(甘香酒剂)移入低速Ross混合器。RossTM混合器是著名的双行星齿轮、双桨混合器,操作时转速为20-100转/分钟,可在真空下操作。(5)白垩和任选的某种硅石加到甘香酒剂中,真空下(至少720mmHg)混合15分钟。(6)在甘香酒剂中加入香味剂,在Ross混合器中于全真空下混合10分钟。(7)在该混合物中加入表面活性剂和月桂基硫酸钠,真空下继续混合20分钟。(8)取出样品进行试验,并间歇放料用于填装。
室温法与“加热法”的过程相同,不同之处是,步骤(2)和(3)中采用的温度为室温。采用在此描述的加热法或室温法,进行一系列的操作或试验。
下表中Cgns A-D是艾特角叉菜胶,均有阳离子,主要是钠和钾。Cgn A是中等粘度的角叉菜胶,Cgn B是高粘度角叉菜胶,Cgn C在75℃C时1.5%溶液有5-50cps的粘度范围,Cgn D是低粘度角叉菜胶,含有约10%silica zeodent。“Cgn E”是卡帕角叉菜胶的提取物,SCITP 105是shemburg销售的艾特角叉菜胶,KPFX 8806是Copenhagen Pectin销售的高粘度艾特角叉菜胶。CMC 7MF,CMC(9M31F)Aqualon和Daicel是市售的羧甲基纤维素。
对不同角叉菜胶、水、润湿剂和磨光剂的不同用量的配方进行比较。评价各组分和其数量对Cuban值和稳定性的作用,配方中其它组分保持不变。表1列出在一组对比中保持不变的组分。

试验结果
对上述制备的各配方,测定其Cuban值和物理稳定性。
Cuban测量值直接与牙膏的粘度有关。在Cuban测试(也称为“Rack”测试)中,将牙膏从管子中经固定的嘴挤出在平行棒组成的格子上,其间隔越来越大。测试结果表示为最长间隔的编号(编号为1-12),最长间隔编号表示支撑牙膏带而不使其断裂的棒间最长距离。架子约300毫米长,约100毫米宽。不锈钢棒以越来越大的距离间隔开,起始,棒1与2之间为3毫米(间隔编号1),而后棒间距离逐根增大3毫米。因此,棒2与3之间的距离为6毫米,第12棒与13棒间的距离(间隔编号12)为39毫米。1-2和9-12级别不合格,3和8合格,4-7为优良。
按照下列步骤进行Cuban试验。(1)将喷嘴固定在填充有待试验的牙膏的牙膏管上。(2)填充有试验牙膏和有固定的喷嘴的管成45°角固定支架上。在管的底部施加压力,从管挤出均匀的膏体带。从管挤出膏体带的同时,管尽可能快地以直线横穿支架。对在支架上铺开牙膏带没有固定的时间限制。如果在横穿整个支架之前带断开,则重复该步骤。(3)使牙膏带静置30秒。此时,记录带的断开点,作为支架评分或Cuban值。(4)进行五次试验,记录平均数,简化成最接近的整数值。
用牙膏样品填充管子测试稳定性。将管子盖上,并在室温和50℃下平放储藏12周。放置12周之后,将长约5厘米的牙膏带从管子内挤出。接着,将管子切开,评价牙膏带和内容物的香味和相分离(脱水收缩)。牙膏管顶部香料与水相的分离可称为“湿盖”。香料的分离可标为0=无,1级=轻度,2级=中度,3级=严重。稳定性可标为“不好”、“好”和“优良”。被标为“不好”的,样品容易表现出一些不符要求的性能,例如香味剂分离、脱水收缩、在管子内很硬,或具有不合格的Cuban值。被标为“好”的,样品没有相分离,但有少数颗粒,并缺乏优良的光泽。被标为“优良”的,样品不表现出任何相分离,而且样品的微细处都很优秀,例如精细的结构或没有颗粒,并具有优异的光泽。

如表7所示,本发明的很多配方具有合格的Cuban值和“好”或“优良”的稳定性评价。具相对较低浓度粘合剂和润湿剂的高湿含量牙膏配方达到了这些要求的物理性能。应理解,在不偏离权利要求所定义的本发明的范围下,可以对本发明的配方进行各种修改。
Claims (9)
1.一种牙膏组合物,包括约0.5-0.85%重量的角叉菜胶、约35-50%重量水、约35-50%重量钙基磨光剂或研磨剂、约5-15%重量的润湿剂和约0.5-5.0%重量的表面活性剂,所述角叉菜胶中至少70%是艾特角叉菜胶。
2.如权利要求1所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述角叉菜胶中至少90%是艾特角叉菜胶。
3.如权利要求1所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述角叉菜胶的重量百分数为约0.55-0.80,水重量百分数为约36-50,钙基磨光剂的重量百分数为约40-46,润湿剂的重量百分数为约7-14。
4.如权利要求3所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述角叉菜胶的重量百分数为约0.55-0.65,水重量百分数为约36-46,钙基磨光剂的重量百分数为约43-46。
5.如权利要求3所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述角叉菜胶的重量百分数为约0.70-0.80,水的重量百分数为约40-50,钙基磨光剂的重量百分数为约40-43。
6.如权利要求1所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述磨光剂选自沉淀碳酸钙或磷酸二钙。
7.如权利要求6所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述润湿剂是山梨糖醇、甘油或它们的混合物。
8.如权利要求7所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述表面活性剂是月桂基硫酸钠。
9.如权利要求3所述的牙膏组合物,其特征还在于所述磨光剂是沉淀碳酸钙,所述表面活性剂是月桂基硫酸钠,所述润湿剂是山梨糖醇。
