Abstract

Description

具有排液特性的损坏指示盖
本发明涉及一种损坏指示盖、制造这种盖的方法以及包括容器上具有这种盖的组件。
通常，利用一些整体的易折断的桥接片把一个卡环连接到盖的侧壁上，从而形成一个损坏指示盖。卡环具有一个与容器上的突缘相配合的阻挡元件(例如，一个突缘或突圈)，以阻止盖的松脱，因此，移去盖子时，就使那当连接卡环和盖子侧壁的易折断元件被折断。在转让给这里的受让人的美国专利US33265中，公开了具有这种特征的损坏指示盖，在这种盖子中，一旦把盖子从容器上移去时，指示损坏的卡环就与盖子的侧壁完全分开，并保留在容器上。同样转让给了这里的受让人的美国专利US5295600中，公开了一种损坏指示盖，在这种盖子中，指示损坏的卡环与盖子的侧壁保持相连，并与盖子一起从容器上移去。

本发明总的目的是提供一种盖子以及有利于对液体产品进行排放的制造这种盖子的方法。本发明的另一个相关的目的是提供一种盖子以及制造这种盖子的方法，这种方法能达到前面所述的目的，同时能保留上面所提到的专利中所公开的盖子的优点，这些优点是，在填充(更低的顶部负载和更低的温度)之后，能方便容易地把这种盖子用于容器缩口部，以及容易把指示损坏的卡环全部或部分地从侧壁上折断，从而具有表明已损坏这一特征。本发明的另外一个目的是提供一种组件，包括一个盖子和一个容器，非常适合用于在前面所描述的会弄湿缩口部的情况下应用。

根据本发明的另一个方面，对容器进行充填和封盖的方法包括提供一个带有外螺纹缩口部和外突缘的容器以及对用液体对容器进行充填至缩口部边缘的步骤。然后把一个盖子封在容器缩口部。其中的盖子具有一个基壁、带外螺纹的侧壁、通过易折断装置连接到侧壁上的一个卡环、以及从卡环延伸的用于与容器突缘接合的突缘。为了便于把液体从侧壁与容器缩口部之间排出，把盖子上的突缘制成沿卡环圆周方向具有均匀厚度的连续基体，且在突缘径向和轴向上的厚度为均匀的或增大的。一组沿圆周方向间隔设置的突肋与基体构成一个整体，并从该基体上延伸，这些突肋用于与突缘下面的容器缩口部的相对表面相接合。这些突肋的厚度从卡环处的零沿径向和轴向均匀地增大到突缘自由边处的最大厚度。

图1-3表示根据本发明目前的一个优选实施例的组件20，它包括一个容器22和一个拧接在该容器上的损坏指示盖24，其中的容器是一个玻璃容器或是用塑料结构模制成的容器。容器22具有一个轴向延伸的用于接收盖子24的缩口部26。盖子24具有一个平的基壁30，在这个基壁30上连接有一个密封垫片32。一个环形周向侧壁34从盖子的基壁30向下延伸，并具有内螺纹36，用于把盖子24固定在容器22的外部螺纹28上。(描写方向的形容词，例如“向下”，是参照图1和图2所示的容器和盖子的竖直方向而言的。)一个指示损坏的卡环38连接在侧壁34的下端，并通过一个周向槽40与侧壁34的下端分隔开。指示损坏的卡环38通过一组沿周向间隔开布置的易折断的跨接片41(见图2和图3)与盖子的侧壁34相连。正如下面所要提到的专利中所描述的那样，跨接片41最好是在刻槽操作期间形成。作为可选的方案是，跨接片可以被模制到侧壁34和卡环38的内表面上，如美国专利US4407422和US4418828中所示。作为可选的方案但不是优选的方案是，卡环38可以利用与盖子模制成一个整体的一个或多个易折断的薄片与侧壁34相连。一个阻挡突缘42从卡环38的下端向位于螺纹28下的径向向外延伸的突圈44下面的位置径向向内和轴向向上延伸。突圈44有时被称作容器转换突圈(transfer bead)或A突圈，它指的是突圈44确定出容器缩口部的A尺寸。
盖子24也可以象US5554327中所公开的那样被模制或被压制形成。垫片32可以被分开制作，或更为优选地是在预制盖内就地被压制成，如美国专和US4984703和US5451360所示。在美国专利US5488888、US5522293、US5564319中公开了在刻槽操作中用于形成槽40和跨接片41的技术。在US5755347和Re33265中公开了用于把阻挡突缘42从图3中模制出来时的结构翻转成图2中可以利用的结构的技术。在此所提到的专利全都转让给了这里的受让人，在此引用这些专利，用于描述背景技术。
图3～8表示出了模制时的盖子24，即在翻转阻挡突缘42、形成线槽、模制垫片32之前时的盖子24。根据本发明一个方面的阻挡突缘42包括一个沿圆周方向连续的基体44，在该基体44上整体地模制了一组突肋46。在图1～5的实施例中的突缘基体44的厚度在突缘42周向上和突缘42的径向和轴向上都是均匀的。因此，基体44的径向和轴向外表面平行于它的径向和轴向内表面，这在图4中看得最清楚。突肋46的周向尺寸相同且均匀，这在图3和图5中看得最清楚，并且它的厚度从突缘42与卡环38的连接处的零沿突缘42的径向和轴上增大或加厚到突缘42自由边处的最大厚度。在图5中看得最清楚，突肋46之间的周向空间最好大于突肋46的周向尺寸。突肋46不仅用于把突缘基体44从容器缩口部间隔开，这在后面将要被描述，而且突肋46还用于在卡环38从侧壁34上折断分离期间，在与缩口部突圈44接合期间对突缘42进行加强。目前优选的情况是，突肋46占用突缘42最小的周向尺寸，并与这种加强作用相一致。
从图2中可以最清楚地看到，在把突缘42进行翻转并把盖子24固定到容器22上之后，突肋46被盖子材料自身的弹力压入，使之与突圈44下面的所谓的容器缩口部的Al直径处的相对表面进行相对接合。因此，沿圆周方向间隔设置的突肋46用于把突缘42的基体44沿径向向外与相对的容器缩口部表面间隔开，从而形成交错的锯齿或通道，用于对于可能聚集在侧壁与容器缩口部之间的液体进行排放。因此，间隔布置的突肋46用于在突肋之间形成用于排放液体的锯齿或通道。
图6～10表示根据本发明另一个实施例的一种盖子/容器的组件50。图6～10中，那些与图1～5所示实施例中的相同或相似的元件采用相同的附图标记，而有变化的元件用在对应的附图标记加一个后辍“a”来表示。组件50中的盖子52包括一个基壁30a和一个周向侧壁34a。一个垫片32a设置在基壁30a的内表面上，最好用前面描述的就地压模的方法来设置。  同时，图2中的垫片32采用了系列号为No.08/851821的美国专利申请中所表示的那种类型的垫片，而图6中的垫片32a采用了美国专利US5650113或US5265747中所示类型的垫片。根据本发明，盖子24(图1～5)或盖子52(图6～10)可以是所谓的无垫片型的，而是采用一个象美国专利US5320236中表示的密封唇。一个阻挡突缘42a从盖子52的指示损坏的卡环38延伸。从图8中看得最清楚，突缘42a有点不同于图4中的突缘42，因为突缘基体44a沿圆周方向的尺寸是均匀的，但是厚度从指示损坏的卡环38沿径向和轴向增厚或加大。沿圆周方向间隔布置的突助46a沿圆周方向的尺寸均匀且相同，构成突肋之间的间隔或空间，并从卡环38到突缘42a自由边沿轴向和径向增厚或加宽。因此，图6～8中的突缘42a比图1～5中的突缘42更牢固，但是图6～10所示实施例中的在突肋46a之间形成的锯齿或通道在径向上的尺寸要小于图1～5中所示实施例中对应的尺寸。
在图1～5所示的盖子的实施例中，盖子的尺寸为43mm，这是示例性尺寸，突圈44的标定厚度为0.014英寸，且在突缘42自由边处的厚度为0.035尺寸。因此，突肋46的厚度从卡环38处的零增大到突缘自由边处的约0.021英寸。突缘42总的轴向和径向长度约为0.060英寸。在这个43mm的盖子实施例中，环绕卡环44设置有三十六个等间隔的突肋46，每个突肋46的周向尺寸为0.050英寸。在图6～10所示的尺寸为38mm的实施例中，突缘基体44a在与卡环38相连接处的厚度是0.010英寸，且在突缘42a自由边处的总厚度为0.035英寸。在突缘42a的圆周上等间隔地设有三十二个突肋46a，每个突肋的周向厚度为0.059英寸。突缘42a的径向和轴向的总体尺寸约为0.068英寸。突缘基体44a在突缘自由边处的厚度约为0.021英寸。因此，突肋46a的厚度从卡环38附近的零增大到突缘自由边处的0.014英寸左右。所有这些示例性的尺寸都是标定的。
