Abstract
本发明目的是提供能量密度高、耐热性或充放电循环特性优良的电化学电容器。通过具有一对氧化还原活性电极,和在所说的氧化还原活性电极之间的电解液或离子导电性的固体电解质,所说的氧化还原活性电极含有特定的共聚物,可以得到能量密度高、耐热性或充放电循环特性优良的的电化学电容器。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及用于各种电子仪器的电化学电容器。
背景技术
以往作为IC或存储器的备用电源、二次电池的辅助、代用品,具有介于电池和电容器中间的容量的电双层电容器作为小电力的直流电源而被广泛使用。但是目前的电双层电容器的能量密度仅为铅蓄电池或镍氢二次电池等二次电池的数十分之一,所以要求进一步高密度化。
另外,使用电双层电容器的优点如下。一般二次电池的电极使用的是铅、镉等环境负荷物质,电双层电容器由于使用的是以活性炭等碳材料为主体的电极,所以安全且环境负荷小,另外与蓄电池不同,电双层电容器利用的是电极与电解液界面间产生的双层电容量而不需要将化学变化转变为电能,所以充放电时效率高,循环寿命长。
电双层电容器是由一对极化电极和在其间填充的相对放置的由耐腐蚀性电解液浸渍的多孔性分离器构成。极化电极是在铝箔等集电体上均匀地厚厚涂布由活性炭、碳黑或粘合剂构成的浆液,干燥形成的。
另外,作为电双层电容器的电解液,可以使用水溶液系电解液或有机溶剂系电解液(非水电解液)。但是水溶液系电解液存在着耐电压低(约1.2V),难以得到高能量密度的电双层电容器的问题,另外非水电解液虽可显示2.3V~3.0V的耐电压,但由于与水溶液系电解液相比电导度低,所以存在电双层电容器的内电阻高的问题。近年来,为解决这些课题进行了各种的探讨,例如特开昭61-32509号公报、特开昭62-237715号公报、国际公开公报WO96/20504号公报等记载的发明。
另外,作为电双层电容器电极使用的活性炭,例如可以将椰子壳、锯末、酚醛树脂、石油焦炭或煤焦炭等为原料经高温炭化后进行水蒸气活化、氯化锌活化、碱活化等处理而得到,一般电双层电容器用的活性炭每单位重量表面积越大,每单位重量的容量越高。但是提高活性炭的每单位重量的表面积会引起活性炭的体积密度降低,出现电双层电容器每单位体积的能量密度降低的问题。
另外,为了解决电双层电容器存在的这些问题,最近发表了很多报告,作为具有与铅蓄电池等二次电池相匹敌的能量密度的新型设备,例如特开平6-104141号公报记载的电化学电容器等。另外Chem.Rev.1997,97,207-281记载的对作为二次电池电极用的π共轭系高分子的研究,理论上可以应用于电化学电容器中。
但即使在上述以往的电化学电容器中,由于电极中使用氧化钌或氧化钌与其它金属氧化物的复合体,所以电容器虽具有高能量密度和循环特性,但作为电极材料的钌价格非常昂贵。另外对电极材料中使用聚吡咯、聚噻吩、聚苯胺或它们的衍生物等具有π共轭的导电性高分子的电容器来说,虽具有高能量密度,但耐热性或循环特性与使用活性炭的电双层电容器相比要差。这是由于π共轭系导电性高分子的耐热性或电化学电容器所必须的电解质成分与π共轭系导电性高分子之间产生的不可逆化学反应所造成的,由于这些原因,希望能开发耐热性高、与电解质成分不发生不可逆化学反应的电极材料。另外,由于π共轭系导电性高分子一般具有不溶、不融的性质,所以作为电化学电容器用的电极生产起来很困难。
本发明的目的是解决上述以往的问题,提供能量密度高、耐热性或充放电循环特性优良的电化学电容器。
发明的公开
用于解决上述课题的本发明的电化学电容器的特征在于具有一对氧化还原活性电极,和在这些氧化还原活性电极之间的电解液或离子导电性的固体电解质,所说的氧化还原活性电极含有化学式1表示的共聚物,通过这种构成,可以得到能量密度高、耐热性或充放电循环特性优良的电化学电容器。

其中,Ra、Rb可以相同或不同,表示氢原子、氟原子、碳数1-15的烷基、氟代烷基、链烯基、氟代链烯基、或苯基、氟代苯基、磺酸基、氨基、硝基、氰基,
四个Rc、Rd可以相同或不同,表示氢原子、氟原子、碳数1-15的烷基、氟代烷基、链烯基、氟代链烯基、或苯基、氟代苯基、磺酸基、氨基、硝基、氰基,或从化学式A中选择的基团,
化学式A用下面通式表示
-(CO)ORe,-(CH2)Ra-(OC2Rb 4)b-ORe
Re表示氢原子或烷基,a、b可以相同或不同,表示0-20的整数。
l、m表示0以上的整数,l、m不同时为0。n、p表示1以上的自然数。X为下面通式表示的化学式中的任意一种或两种以上,R1-R6表示氢原子、氟原子、可以被羟基取代的碳原子数1-20的烷基、氟代烷基、链烯基、氟代链烯基、或苯基、氟代苯基、磺酸基、氨基、硝基、氰基,R1-R6可以部分或全部相互结合形成环。R1-R6可以相同或不同。
本发明实施的优选方案
本发明的第一方案,是由具有一对氧化还原活性电极,和在这些氧化还原活性电极之间的电解液或离子导电性的固体电解质构成的电化学电容器,电化学电容器中上述的氧化还原活性电极含有化学式1表示的共聚物。在这种构成下,通过在电化学电容器电极中使导电性高分子与耐热性或亲溶剂性高的高分子共聚合,可以提高电极材料的耐热性以及循环特性,具有比以往使用活性炭电极的电双层电容器能量密度高,并且与使用导电性高分子电极的电化学电容器相比提高了耐热性和循环特性。
本发明的第二方案,是化学式1中的X为3-(4-氟苯基)噻吩。3-(4-氟苯基)噻吩是通过在噻吩中导入电子吸引性的4-氟苯基基团,使电解质的阳离子产生的掺杂、脱掺杂变得容易,通过这种作用,可以得到高容量、特别是循环特性优良的电化学电容器。
本发明的第三方案,是化学式1的中X为3-磺酰基噻吩,在这种构成下,通过3-磺酰基噻吩中磺酰基基团的作用使导电性高分子自身掺杂,使得导电性高分子的电导度变化极小,由此得到内阻降低的电化学电容器。
本发明的第四方案,是化学式1中的X为3,4-二磺酰基噻吩,在这种构成下,通过3,4-二磺酰基噻吩中磺酰基的作用使导电性高分子自身掺杂,使得导电性高分子的电导度变化极小,并且由于两个磺酰基的立体障碍性,使电解液向高分子内部的浸渍变得容易,由此得到容量大且内阻低的电化学电容器。
本发明的第五方案,是化学式1中的X为亚乙二氧基噻吩,在这种构成下,导电性高分子的立体规则性提高,该导电性高分子具有高电导度。所以使用亚乙二氧基噻吩的电极内阻小,可以得到内阻小的电化学电容器。
本发明的第六方案,是本发明的氧化还原电极中含有钌、锰、钒、钛、铝、镍、铁、镁、硅的氧化物中的至少一种以上的物质,在这种构成下,通过上述氧化物与本发明的共聚合物的混合,可以提高氧化还原电极内共聚合物的分散性,在此作用下,可以得到高容量、且内阻小的电化学电容器。
下面详细说明本发明。
首先,作为本发明使用的极性非质子溶剂,例如碳酸乙烯酯、碳酸丙烯酯、碳酸丁烯酯、碳酸亚乙烯基酯等环状碳酸酯;碳酸二甲酯、碳酸甲基乙基酯、碳酸二乙酯、碳酸甲基丙基酯、碳酸甲基异丙基酯等链状碳酸酯;γ-丁内酯、γ-戊内酯、3-甲基-γ-丁内酯、2-甲基-γ-丁内酯等环状酯;甲酸甲酯、甲酸乙酯、乙酸甲酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸丙酯、丙酸甲酯、丁酸甲酯、戊酸甲酯等链状酯;1,4-二噁烷、1,3-二氧杂戊环、四氢呋喃、2-甲基四氢呋喃、2-甲基-1,3-二氧杂戊环等环状醚;1,2-二甲氧基乙烷、1,2-二乙氧基乙烷、二乙醚、二甲醚、甲基乙基醚、二丙基醚等链状醚;环丁砜等含硫化合物;乙腈、苯甲腈、丁腈等腈类。
另外作为上述环状碳酸酯,除上面例子所示的环状碳酸酯以外,也可以使用特开平9-63644号公报中记载的含有被卤素原子取代的烷基的环状碳酸酯。作为这种碳酸酯,例如碳酸单氟甲基乙烯酯、碳酸二氟甲基乙烯酯、碳酸三氟甲基乙烯酯等。
另外可以将这些溶剂中的1种或2种以上混合使用。
作为本发明使用的电解质阳离子,例如四丁基铵、四乙基铵、三乙基一甲基铵、四丁基鏻、四乙基鏻等季鎓离子、或国际公开WO95/15572号公报记载的电解质阳离子等。
作为本发明使用的电解质阴离子,例如ClO4 -、BF4 -、PF6 -、AsF6 -、SbF6 -、碳原子数2以上的全氟烷烃磺酸离子、全氯烷烃磺酸离子、全氟烷烃羧酸离子、全氯烷烃羧酸离子、双(全氟烷基)硫酰亚胺离子、三(全氟烷基)硫酰甲基化物离子等。
作为本发明使用的硅胶电解质用高分子,例如聚氧乙烯、聚氧丙烯、聚偏氟乙烯、聚丙烯腈、聚四氟乙烯、聚六氟丙烯、聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯等的单体,或作为两种以上的共聚合物使用。
下面通过实施例具体说明本发明,但本发明并不局限于实施例。
(表1)表示使用本发明电极材料的实施例1-5与作为比较例的以往例1、2的构成情况。(表2)表示本发明实施例1-5和以往例1、2的每单位重量的容量和在85℃高温下放置500小时时的容量变化率。

从表2可以清楚看出,本发明的实施例1-5的电化学电容器与以往例1的电双层电容器相比,每单位重量的容量大,与以往例2的电化学电容器相比具有优良的高温稳定性。
产业上的利用
以上的本发明的电化学电容器,通过在电化学电容器的电极中进行导电性高分子与耐热性或亲溶剂性高的高分子的共聚可以提高电极材料的耐热性和循环特性,由此可以得到比以往使用活性炭电极的电双层电容器能量密度高、并且与使用导电性高分子电极的电化学电容器相比具有高耐热性和循环特性的电化学电容器。
