按照本发明,用于热粘接底材(32、33),聚合物或金属的粘合剂组合物(34)包括至少一种聚合物材料、至少一种增塑剂和润湿剂以及可能的至少一种溶剂,其操作温度低于底材(32、33)降解温度并低于聚合物材料的熔化温度。用于制造航空级夹心结构,特别是制造直升机的转子。
Description
本发明涉及用于底材热粘接的粘合剂组合物和使其应用的方法。
本发明的粘合剂组合物能使要粘合的底材,特别是聚合物基体复合底材或金属底材,例如铝合金粘合,并不使其性质受到限制。在制造具有韧化的聚合物涂层的层压件和航空级泡沫体或蜂窝夹心结构以用于转子叶片或转子套,特别是用于直升飞机和用于飞机的内部设备、公共运输等方面具有极为突出的优点。这些结构从成本、重量、物理和机械性能方面看具有非常诱人的性能。
而且,本发明的粘合剂组合物可以用在比通常用于粘合韧化的聚合物材料温度低的温度,因此,可以使制造成本降低。这种组合物还能使不同,常常不相容类型的底材粘合。
近来,由其性能重量节约比,从而夹心结构广泛用于航空工业。但是,这种发展受到其温度性能的限制,因为它很难改进而又不增加结构重量。
实际上,由技术知识建成的夹心结构,其涂层为可自粘合的环氧热固性基体的复合材料,其芯材为用酚醛或聚酰亚胺树脂装配的芳族聚酰胺板材如以商名NOMEX市售的聚芳酰胺或金属板材的蜂窝材料。用其它改性的环氧基体、双马来酰亚胺(BMI)或热塑性塑料如聚醚醚酮(PEEK)或聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)代替可以自粘合的环氧基体有许多好处。实际上,这能改进在高操作温度下的耐久性和某些性能,如耐破损、和耐火。
但是,为获得对蜂窝芯材的良好粘合,这种改进需要:
-粘合剂的充足供应,
-适于该涂层的粘合剂,
-使用温度限制和粘合剂的温度限制相容的其它蜂窝材料,
这些会使成本和/或重量显著增加。
而且,另一优点是由底材同热固性或热塑性基体装配制造材料。
最近,装配成热塑性基体复合材料:
-用热固性粘合剂进行标准的粘合,
-或用基体局部熔化,使两种底材焊接在一起。
但是,这两种方法有两种限制。一方面,机械强度直接受底材基体和粘合膜的相容性和表面处理的影响。例如,用这些方法制造具有双马来酰亚胺基体涂层(BMI)的芳酰胺/酚醛型蜂窝夹心结构是不可能的,因为BMI和芯材没有化学相容性。另一方面,达到介面的共固结所需的温度难以控制,并可能引起相邻区域的变形。这样,很难制造具有聚醚醚酮(PEEK)涂层和芳酰胺/酚醛蜂窝夹心的夹心结构,因为PEEK的熔化温度为400℃,蜂窝结构不能耐此温度。
为了克服这些缺点,使用所谓的热粘接法(Thermabond)。这种方法既是粘合,因为加入了另一树脂薄膜,又是共固结,因为将此薄膜加热到其熔化温度。例如,要求装配具有PEI基体底材的PEEK基体底材,插入PEI薄膜,然后将整体加热到约300℃,这可确保PEI的熔化。这种高温不适于制造所有的可能需要使用的底材。特别是不适于制造芳酰胺/酚醛型蜂窝夹心结构。
因此,迫切需要一种粘合剂组合物,以适于制造不会降低所得到的层压材料的使用性能,而且能够在经济上不受限制的温度下使用,并且这温度足够低,以确保要粘合的底材不恶化的层压材料。
本发明人有幸发现了用于底材热粘接的组合物,此组合物包括:
-至少一种聚合物材料,
-至少一种增塑剂和润湿剂,
-以及可能的至少一种溶剂,其特征在于,它提供了低于底材降解和低于聚合物材料熔化温度的操作温度。
使用本发明的粘合剂组合物的优选温度低于底材变形温度且低于聚合物材料的熔化温度。
这样,使用本发明的组合物能够得到在装配时不损失其任何机械性能,因此,粘合剂组合物不构成限制其可能应用的因素。
操作温度显然是与要粘合的底材性质和粘合的聚合物材料的性质有关。操作温度为约50-250℃,优选为70-240℃,更优选为100-200℃。
这种粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料包括至少一种具有不同或相同的以下通式重复单元的聚合物或共聚物:
-Ar-X-
其中:
-Ar是单-或多环取代的或未取代的芳族基团,
-X是氮、氧或硫原子或OCO、O-CO-O、CO、NHCO、N(CO2)、SO2、O-SO2、N(SO2)、C=NH官能团或含氮、氧或硫原子或OCO、O-CO-O、CO、NHCO、N(CO2)、SO2、O-SO2、N(SO2)、C=NH官能团的饱和或不饱和的烷基。
这种聚合物的选择与要装配的底材性能有关。这种聚合物优选具有接近底材的化学结构(当后者是聚合物底材时)。
能够提出用于本发明组合物的聚合物材料的实例是聚醚亚胺(PEI)、聚醚砜、聚酰亚胺、聚砜、聚苯硫、聚亚芳基氧、芳族聚酰胺、聚酰胺酰亚胺、芳族聚酯、芳族聚碳、聚醚醚酮(PEEK)。
优选的聚合物材料是聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)。
增塑剂和润湿剂是含至少一种选自酮如苯丙酮、二苯酮,选自砜如二苯砜、二甲苯基砜,选自酯如苯甲酸苯酯或苯甲酸苄酯,以及选自醇如苯并酚官能团的芳族化合物。
增塑剂和润湿剂可以理解为任何能够降低聚合物的熔化温度、玻璃化转变温度和粘度,以及通过可逆转变能并促进润湿能力的材料。这种增塑剂和润湿剂的沸点或熔点与粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料可比。
增塑剂在粘合剂组合物的使用温度下可以是挥发性的,或者在此温度下是不挥发的,在此情况下,显然必须选择使得对增塑剂存在所形成的装配体的性能不产生不良的影响。
可能的溶剂选自氯化溶剂如二氯甲烷和氨基溶剂如N-甲基吡咯烷酮。
在本发明中,溶剂和稀释剂两词可以无区别地使用。实际上,所说的溶剂用于溶解粘合剂组合物中聚合物材料。有时需要降低这种组合物的粘度,特别是促进向至少一种要粘合的底材的涂布,例如,用枪喷涂。在这种情况下,使用稀释剂,这些稀释剂优选是来自组合物的过量的溶剂。
在本发明的优选方案中,组合物包括:
-1-90%,优选1-40%,更优选5-20%重量的聚合物材料,
-1-40%,优选1-10%,更优选2-4%重量的增塑剂和润湿剂,
-0-98%,优选10-85%,更优选30-80%重量的溶剂,
百分比是相对于组合物总重量计算的。
显然,所说组合物的粘度由所用溶剂的量,由液体形式到固体形式而不同。可以有溶液、分散液、悬浮液、薄膜或面团等形式。特别是,当组合物不包括任何溶剂时,可以以薄膜形式存在。
在一更优选的方案中,本发明的粘合剂组合物包括;
-10-20%重量的聚醚酰亚胺,
-2-5%重量的增塑剂,
-86-77%重量的溶剂。
本发明人还有幸发现,本发明的组合物可以借助在工业上可以直接和简易地实现的方法使用。
本发明的方法是底材热粘接方法,其中包括:
-在要粘合的至少一种底材的至少一个表面上涂一层粘合剂,
-可能的话,在至少一层粘合剂组合物上涂一层粘合剂,
-使要粘合的底材的表面接触,
-可能的话,在压力下将整体加热,加热温度低于底材降解温度和低于所说粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料的熔化温度,
-可能的话,冷却。
优选的加热温度低于底材变形的温度,低于粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料的熔化温度。
此温度显然是与要粘合的底材和粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料有关。一般为50-250℃,优选为70-240℃,更优选为100-200℃。
可以整个地或部分地在压力下进行加热。或者,在加热步骤前或之后在装配板上施加压力。压力为0.07-0.3兆帕,优选为0.1-0.3兆帕,更优选为0.15-0.2兆帕。
在本发明方法的一特殊方案中,将一层粘合剂涂于至少一层粘合剂组合物上。这种粘合剂可以是标准的环氧型粘合剂。这种粘合剂组合物可以改进在要粘合底材表面上粘合剂的分布。
本发明方法可以包括在涂布后立即使粘合剂层至少部分干燥的步骤。这样,粘合剂组合物层可以在温度60-120℃至少部分干燥。
这种粘合剂组合物和使其能使用的粘合方法完全适用于粘合金属底材、如铝合金底材,可能用粒子或矿物或有机纤维韧化的压实体、泡沫体或蜂窝状结构的热塑性或热固性聚合物底材,或包括一层或多层的金属材料、可能用粒子或矿物或有机纤维韧化的压实结构的热塑性或热固性聚合物的层压品,并具有整体的、蜂窝状或蜂窝涂层。
可以提到的金属底材的实例是铝以及其合金、不锈钢、金属芯蜂窝结构,这些底材是经耐腐蚀处理的。
聚合物底材具有韧化的具有不同和相同以下通式的重复单元的聚合物或共聚物的优点:
-Ar-X-
其中,
-Ar是单-或多环取代的或未取代的芳族基团,
且X是氮、氧或硫原子或OCO、O-CO-O、CO、NHCO、N(CO2)、SO2、O-SO2、N(SO2)、C=NH官能团或含氮、氧或硫原子或OCO、O-CO-O、CO、NHCO、N(CO2)、SO2、O-SO2、N(SO2)、C=NH官能团的饱和或不饱和的烷基。
这些可以提到的聚合物的实例是可能经韧化的氰酸酯、双马来酰亚胺、改性的或未改性的环氧热固性树脂、可能韧化的热塑性树脂,可能经韧化的聚砜、聚苯硫、聚醚醚酮、聚醚砜、聚芳氧、聚芳硫、芳族聚酰胺、芳族聚酯、芳族聚碳酸酯、聚醚酰亚胺,和用芳酰胺或玻璃或碳、由玻璃纤维或碳纤维制造的织物、特别用热塑性树脂浸过的纤维或由Schnappe纤维韧化的酚醛或聚酰胺树脂的复合材料。
显然,在涂粘合剂组合物涂布之前,本发明的方法可包括对底材的清洗和干燥步骤。
粘合剂组合物的涂布方式显然与粘合剂组合物的形式和粘度有关。可以通过喷涂、浸涂,当组合物是液体时,用刷涂涂布组合物,或当组合物是薄膜或面团形式时用沉积法。本发明的方法完全适用于用芳酰胺或金属板材和酚醛或聚酰亚胺粘合剂以及用涂以聚醚醚酮的聚醚醚酮基体涂层制造蜂窝夹心结构,其特征在于:
-将上述的粘合剂组合物层涂于要粘合的蜂窝表面和涂于覆盖聚醚醚酮涂层的聚醚酰亚胺表面上。
-使涂以粘合剂组合物的表面接触,
-将整体加热到温度70-240℃,
-将这样得到的装配体冷却到室温。
下面的图1-5说明本发明,其中:
-图1为由本发明方法制备的蜂窝夹心结构的横截面图。
-图2为由本发明方法的另一方案制备的蜂窝夹心结构的横截面图。
-图3为由本发明方法制备的聚醚酰亚胺泡沫体夹心结构的横截面图。
-图4为由本发明方法制备的整体结构的横截面图。
-图5为说明操作温度与本发明中的四种粘合剂组合物的组合物粘度和与聚醚酰亚胺单独的粘度的关系图。
图1为具有NOMEX板蜂窝芯材和酚醛粘合剂的夹心结构。在这种蜂窝2的表面上沉积了一层本发明的粘合剂组合物3a。这些粘合剂组合物的每层同这种组合物的另一层3b接触,涂上一层聚醚酰亚胺4,层4本身固定于经碳纤维韧化的聚醚醚酮层5,并构成漆皮。
对于聚醚醚酮层5,也可以使用浸以聚醚醚酮树脂的织物或线或Schnappe纤维的织物,在这种情况下,必须在层5和聚醚酰亚胺层4之间插入玻璃雾,使聚醚酰亚胺层4的厚度多少一致。形成层5的底材的优点是容易褶皱和变形,因此适用于开端的和/或复杂的形式。
图2表示用NOMEX芳酰胺板型的蜂窝芯12和酚醛粘合剂的另一种夹心结构11。在这种蜂窝的每一面沉积一层本发明的粘合剂组合物16。在这些粘合剂组合物层16的每层上沉积一层粘合剂13。在双马来酰亚胺基体涂层15上的粘合剂组合物层17同粘合剂层13的每层接触。粘合剂层13是任选的,如粘合剂组合物层17一样,即使在没有粘合剂13时也可有粘合剂组合物层17。
用在制造下面讨论的图1和2以及图3和4结构的粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料是聚醚酰亚胺。
图3表示具有聚醚酰亚胺泡沫体芯22和聚醚酰亚胺基体涂层24的夹心结构21。在每一聚醚酰亚胺基体涂层24上沉积一层本发明的粘合剂组合物层23以粘合于芯22。
在这种情况下,本发明的粘合剂组合物可使聚醚酰亚胺涂层粘合而不压缩泡沫体。
实际上,本发明粘合剂组合物使用的温度低于聚醚酰亚胺单独使用的温度。如果聚醚酰亚胺已经单独涂布,则泡沫体被压缩,因为它不耐聚醚酰亚胺单独的使用温度,此温度约为300℃。
因此,本发明粘合剂组合物的优点是由于使用高性能(温度、电阻性能)的涂层或外层而增加了这些夹心结构的应用领域,但不影响初始重量。
图4表示包括部分重叠的底材32和底材33的整体结构31。在这两底材之间,在其重叠部分,沉积一层本发明的粘合剂组合物34。
在这种结构中,底材32和底材33可以是性质相同或不同的,例如,
-涂以聚醚酰亚胺薄膜的聚醚醚酮基体表面的复合材料,
-聚醚酰亚胺基体的复合材料,
-环氧树脂或双马来酰亚胺型的热固性基体的复合材料,或
-铝合金。
对于上面图1-4所示的结构,为了永久性的装配,施加0.1-0.3兆帕的压力几分钟,同时,将结构加热,温度升高周期是几乎等于加压持续时间。加压可以通过压机或高压釜达到。
通过下面的非限制性实施例进一步说明本发明:
实施例1
通过在室温下混合下面化合物制备本发明的粘合剂组合物:
-聚醚酰亚胺,
-二苯酮,
-二氯甲烷,
混合比例如下面表1所示。这些比例为相对于组合物总重量的百分重量。
对于这些组合物的每一种,在溶剂蒸发后用粘弹计型的装置测定活性试剂随温度变化的粘度,得到的曲线如图5所示。
通过比较,(参比)温度与聚醚酰亚胺单独的粘度的关系的曲线也示于图5。

因此,本发明的组合物的使用温度总是低于聚醚酰亚胺单独使用的温度。
实施例2:具有芳酰胺/酚醛蜂窝芯的夹心结构的制备
a)粘合剂组合物的制备
在200克二氯甲烷中溶解25±1克以由General Electric公司制造的品级1000的聚醚酰亚胺和5.5±0.25克的二苯酮。
b)
蜂窝的处理:
酚醛粘合剂的NOMEX芳酰胺板型的蜂窝在180℃炉中干燥一小时30分钟。
用2.5毫米的注射枪涂布上述a)中制备的粘合剂组合物。
粘合剂组合物的量是140克/平方米±15(干重量,即二氯甲烷完全蒸发后的量)。
c)
涂层的处理:
要粘合在芯上的涂层是用碳韧化的用聚醚酰亚胺漆皮覆盖聚醚醚酮基体涂层。
装配聚醚酰亚胺漆皮的前期步骤
通过压实将聚醚酰亚胺漆皮加于涂层。为此,将聚醚酰亚胺涂层/层装配件放在两个曾用Freekote 44 NC下模剂处理的KAPTON脱模薄膜之间,下模剂放在150℃干燥15分钟。
然后,用压机或在高压釜中得到压实体。
如果是在高压釜中制造,放在两个脱模薄膜之间的聚醚酰亚胺涂层/层装配体置于两板之间并插进高压釜中的真空袋中。在高压釜中,温度是390℃±5℃,负压为0.08兆帕,压力为0.2兆帕。
如果用压机制造,则将放在两个脱模薄膜之间的聚醚酰亚胺涂层/层装配体置于压机的两板之间,在温度390℃±5℃和压力0.2兆帕下进行35±5分钟。
固定到涂层上的聚醚酰亚胺漆皮的制备
用异丙醇或ASTM essence G使聚醚酰亚胺漆皮脱脂。
用2.5毫米的注射枪将在上面a)制造的粘合剂组合物涂于脱脂的漆皮上。
粘合剂组合物的量是35克/平方米±5(干重量,即二氯甲烷完全蒸发后的量)。
d)
涂层的粘合
涂层加在蜂窝芯上,使粘合剂组合物覆盖的面相互接触。
将此装配体在0.2兆帕下在225±5℃加热20分钟,
得到夹心结构,如示于图1。
涂布的这种结构对用INSTROM试验机测定,结果高于50毫米牛顿/毫米。
实施例3:
重新启动实施例2,但是,粘合步骤d)是在高压釜中进行,温度是225℃,负压为0.08兆帕,压力为0.2兆帕,时间约30分钟。
实施例4:
通过在室温混合下面的化合物制备本发明的粘合剂组合物:
-25克聚醚酰亚胺,
-10克二苯酮作为增塑剂和润湿剂,
-200克二氯甲烷作为溶剂。
用枪将此组合物以140克/平方米的比率涂于NOMEX蜂窝芯上。
蜂窝小室的显微截面显示粘合剂组合物为新月形和正的蜂窝/粘合剂组合物接触角,说明粘合剂组合物具有良好的润湿能力。
NOMEX蜂窝和粘合剂组合物的表面张力用Cahn天平测定,得到下面的值:
V(蜂窝)=37.6×10-3牛顿/米,以及
V(底漆)=31.09×10-3牛顿/米。
此方法为测定需要垂直施加于玻璃板或材料上的F力用于平衡表面吸引力。
当玻璃板同液体表面接触时,后者常润湿板的表面。Cahn天平测定将试验管从要分析的液体除去所需的拉力。
液体要适当润湿固体,前者的张力必须低于后者的张力。液体将能沿壁流动,并形成底的连接角。
本粘合剂组合物对在高温下的环氧基体复合材料和对聚酰胺的润湿能力是同样满意的。
Claims (19)
1.用于底材热粘接的粘合剂组合物,包括:
-至少一种聚合物材料,
-至少一种增塑剂和润湿剂,其是带有至少一个官能团的芳族化合物,选自苯丙酮、二苯酮、二苯砜、二甲苯基砜、苯甲酸苯酯、苯甲酸苄酯和苯并酚,
-和可能的话,至少一种溶剂,
其特征在于,所述聚合物材料为聚醚酰亚胺。
2.权利要求1的组合物,其特征在于,溶剂选自氯化溶剂和氨基溶剂。
3.权利要求1或2的组合物,其特征在于,所说的组合物包括:
-1-90%重量的聚合物材料,
-1-40%重量的增塑剂和润湿剂,
-0-98%重量的溶剂。
4.权利要求3的组合物,其特征在于,所说的组合物包括:
-1-40%重量的聚合物材料,
-1-10%重量的增塑剂和润湿剂,
-10-85%重量的溶剂。
5.权利要求3的组合物,其特征在于,所说的组合物包括:
-5-20%重量的聚合物材料,
-2-4%重量的增塑剂和润湿剂,
-30-80%重量的溶剂。
6.权利要求1或2的组合物,其特征在于,组合物以溶液、分散体、悬浮液、薄膜或面团形式存在。
7.权利要求1或2的组合物,其特征在于,其以包括至少一种聚合物材料和至少一种增塑剂或润湿剂的薄膜形式存在。
8.热粘接底材的方法,包括:
-将在权利要求1中定义的一层粘合剂组合物涂于至少一种要粘合的底材的至少一面上,
-可能的话,在至少一层粘合剂组合物上涂一层粘合剂,
-使要粘合的底材的表面接触,
-可能的话,在压力下将整体加热,加热温度低于底材降解温度并低于所说粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料的熔化温度,
-可能的话,将它冷却。
9.权利要求8的热粘接底材方法,其特征在于,整体加热温度低于底材变形温度并低于粘合剂组合物的聚合物材料的熔化温度。
10.权利要求8的方法,其特征在于,加热温度为50-250℃,压力为0.07-0.3兆帕。
11.权利要求10的方法,其特征在于,加热温度为70-240℃,压力为0.10-0.3兆帕。
12.权利要求10的方法,其特征在于,加热温度为100-200℃,压力为0.15-0.2兆帕。
13.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,在涂以粘合剂组合物层后,其在温度60-120℃下至少部分干燥。
14.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,底材选自金属底材,选自可能经粒子或矿物或有机纤维韧化的压实体、泡沫体或蜂窝状结构的热塑性或热固性聚合物底材,或选自包括一或多层的金属材料、可能经粒子或矿物或有机纤维韧化的压实结构的热塑性或热固性聚合物的层压品,并具有整体的、蜂窝状或蜂窝涂层。
15.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,聚合物底材是选自可能韧化的具有不同或相同以下通式重复单元的聚合物和共聚物的聚合物材料:
-Ar-X-
式中:
Ar是单-或多环取代的或未取代的芳族基团,
X是氮、氧或硫原子或OCO、O-CO-O、CO、NHCO、N(CO2)、SO2、O-SO2、N(SO2)、C=NH官能团或含氮、氧或硫原子或OCO、O-CO-O、CO、NHCO、N(CO2)、SO2、O-SO2、N(SO2)、C=NH官能团的饱和或不饱和的烷基。
16.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,聚合物材料底材选自氰酸酯、双马来酰亚胺、改性的或未改性的环氧热固性树脂、可能韧化的热塑性树脂、可能韧化的聚砜、聚苯硫、聚醚醚酮、聚醚砜、聚芳氧、聚芳硫、芳族聚酰胺、芳族聚酯、芳族聚碳酸酯、聚醚酰亚胺和碳韧化的酚醛或聚酰胺树脂的复合材料。
17.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,在涂布粘合剂组合物层之前,清洗并干燥底材。
18.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,粘合剂组合物在可能加入溶剂后,通过刷子,通过喷涂涂布,通过浸涂或通过薄膜或面团的沉积涂布。
19.权利要求8-10中任一项的方法,其特征在于,将如权利要求1-7任一项的粘合剂组合物层涂于要粘合的蜂窝表面和覆盖聚醚醚酮涂层的聚醚酰亚胺的表面,
使涂以粘合剂组合物的表面接触,
将整体加热到温度70-240℃,
将得到的装配体冷却到室温。
