Abstract

Description

含有SBR橡胶凝胶的混炼胶
本发明涉及含有C=C双键和苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(SBR凝胶)的混炼胶并涉及由该混炼胶制备的硫化胶。该硫化胶通常在-20℃至+20℃下具有特别高的阻尼并且在40-80℃下具有特别低的阻尼,因此,特别适宜用来制造对湿路面具有强抓着力并且具有低滚动阻力的汽车轮胎胎面。
文献中公开了大量设计用来降低轮胎的滚动阻力的方法,尤其包括在由含有C=C双键的橡胶制造的轮胎胎面中使用氯丁橡胶凝胶(EP-A 405216)和聚丁二烯凝胶(DE-A 4220563)的方法。使用氯丁橡胶凝胶的缺点是橡胶成本高、氯丁二烯密度高和生态学方面的缺点,因为含氯成分的出现会产生废弃轮胎再循环的问题。而DE-A 4220563的聚丁二烯凝胶不存在这些缺点,在这种情况下的动力阻尼在低温(-20℃至+20℃)和高温(40-80℃)下都较低,在实践中这意味着滚动阻力的优点伴随着湿路面中轮胎抓着力的缺点。GB-PS 1078400的硫交联橡胶凝胶不具有补强作用,因此不适用于本申请。
我们现在惊讶地发现,含有C=C双键并填充有特定SBR凝胶的硫化橡胶在低温下具有高动力阻尼,在高温下具有低动力阻尼,从而产生滚动阻力和湿路抓着力的优点。在含有聚丁二烯橡胶的混炼胶中使用SBR凝胶生产特别好的性能。
因此,本发明提供从至少一种苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)和至少一种含有双键的橡胶(B)制备的混炼胶,其中相对于100重量份含有C=C双键的橡胶和可选的填充剂和橡胶辅助物质计,苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶含量为1-100重量份,优选5-75重量份。
苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶应当理解为代表通过将下述两种物质交联得到的微凝胶:SBR-含有1-80%(重量)、优选5-50%(重量)苯乙烯的苯乙烯/丁二
烯共聚物,和/或XSBR-还带有极性不饱和单体的苯乙烯/丁二烯共聚物和接枝共
聚物,例如丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、丙烯酰胺、甲基丙烯酰
胺、N-甲氧基甲基丙烯酰胺、N-乙酰氧基甲基甲基丙烯酰
胺、丙烯腈、二甲基丙烯酰胺、丙烯酸羟乙酯、甲基丙烯
酸羟乙酯的接枝共聚物,它含有1-75%(重量)苯乙烯和1-
20%(重量)聚合混入的极性单体。
苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶的粒度为5-1000,优选20-400nm(按照DIN 53206的DVN值)和在甲苯中的溶胀指数(Qi)为1-15、优选1-10。溶胀指数是从含有溶剂的凝胶的重量(在20,000转/分下离心后)及其干重计算得到的。

作为测定溶胀指数的一个例子,在振摇下,将250毫克SBR凝胶在25ml甲苯中溶胀24小时。将凝胶离心、称重,然后在70℃下干燥至恒重,再次称重。
苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶原材料最好是通过乳液聚合制备的。关于这方面,可以参阅例如I.Franta,Elastomers and Rubber CompoundingMaterials,Elsevier,Amsterdam 1989,pp.88-92。
橡胶原材料生成苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶的交联在胶乳状态进行。这可以在聚合期间进行,作为将聚合继续到高转化率的结果,或者在单体加料过程中,作为高内部转化率下聚合的结果,或者作为聚合后二次交联的结果,或者将两种方法结合起来。也可以通过在无调节剂存在下的聚合来制备橡胶原材料。
苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶可以通过与具有交联作用的多官能化合物聚合而交联。优选的多官能共聚单体是具有至少两个、优选2-4个可共聚C=C双键的化合物,例如二异丙烯基苯、二乙烯基苯、二乙烯基醚、二乙烯基砜、邻苯二甲酸二烯丙酯、三烯丙基氰尿酸酯、三烯丙基异氰尿酸酯、1,2-聚丁二烯、N,N′-间亚苯基马来酰亚胺和/或1,3,5-苯三酸三烯丙酯。还可以考虑下面的化合物,多价(优选二价至四价)丙烯酸酯和甲基丙烯酸酯,C2-C10醇例如乙二醇、丙二醇-1,2、丁二醇、己二醇、具有2-20个(优选2-8个)氧化亚乙基单元的聚乙二醇、新戊二醇、双酚A、丙三醇、三羟甲基丙烷、季戊四醇、山梨醇和从脂族二醇和多元醇与马来酸、富马酸和/或衣康酸制备的不饱和聚酯。
用具有交联作用的化学品将苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶二次交联的结果是,苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶也可以在胶乳状态下交联形成SBR橡胶凝胶。适宜的具有交联作用的化学品是例如有机过氧化物例如过氧化二异丙苯、过氧化叔丁基枯基、二(叔丁基过氧化异丙基)苯、过氧化二叔丁基、过氧化二苯甲酰、过氧化二(2,4-二氯苯甲酰)、过苯甲酸叔丁酯和有机偶氮化合物例如偶氮二异丁腈和偶氮二环己腈合二巯基和多巯基化合物例如二巯基乙烷、1,6-二巯基己烷、1,3,5-三羟基三嗪和巯基封端的聚硫醚橡胶例如二氯乙基甲醛与多硫化钠的巯基封端反应产物。二次交联操作的最佳温度自然取决于交联剂的反应性,可以为室温至大约170℃,可选地在加压下进行。参见Houben-Weyl,Methodender organischen Chemie[Methods in Organic Chemistry],4th edition,Vol.14/2,p.848。过氧化物是特别优选的交联剂。
也可以在胶乳形式的二次交联之前、期间或之后通过附聚来增大颗粒。
在有机溶剂中制备的苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶也可以用作原材料来制备苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶。在这种情况下,最好将橡胶溶液可选地借助于乳化剂在水中乳化,接着,除去有机溶剂之前或之后,用适宜的交联剂将如此获得的乳液交联。上述的交联剂是适宜的交联剂。
优选的橡胶(B)含有双键,碘值至少为2,优选5-470。碘值一般是按照Wijs,DIN 53241,Part1的方法通过加入氯化碘在乙酸中测定的。碘值确定了在100克物质中化学键合碘的克数。
橡胶(B)的门尼粘度ML 1+4/100℃(DIN 53523)一般为10-150,优选20-120。

对于制造例如汽车轮胎特别有用的是玻璃化转变温度高于-50℃、可选地用甲硅烷基醚或其它官能团改性的天然橡胶,例如EP-A 447066中所述的用基于镍、钴、钛或铷的催化剂制备的、具有高顺式-1,4含量(>90%)的聚丁二烯橡胶,和含有0-75%乙烯基的聚丁二烯橡胶及其混合物。
从苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)和含有双键的橡胶(B)制备的本发明的橡胶混合物还可含有填充剂。
下述物质是制备本发明的混炼胶和硫化橡胶的特别适宜的填充剂:-炭黑。本发明所用的炭黑是通过灯黑,炉黑或槽法炭黑法制备的,BET表面积为20-200平方米/克,例如SAF,ISAF,IISAF,HAF,FEF或GPF炭黑。-例如通过将硅酸盐溶液沉淀或者通过卤化硅氧烷的火焰水解可以制备高度分散的硅石,其比表面积为5-1000、优选20-40平方米/克(BET表面积),原始粒度为5-400nm。硅石也可以作为氧化钛与其它金属氧化物例如氧化铝、氧化镁、氧化钙、氧化钡和氧化锌的混合氧化物的形式存在。-合成硅酸盐例如硅酸铝、碱土金属硅酸盐例如硅酸镁或硅酸钙的BET表面积为20-400平方米/克,原始粒度为10-400nm,-天然硅酸盐例如高岭土和其它天然硅石,-金属氧化物例如氧化锌、氧化钙、氧化镁和氧化铝,-金属碳酸盐例如碳酸镁、碳酸钙和碳酸锌,-金属硫酸盐例如硫酸钙和硫酸钡,-金属氢氧化物例如氢氧化铝和氢氧化镁,-玻璃纤维和玻璃纤维产品(垫、挤出物)或玻璃微珠-基于氯丁橡胶和/或聚丁二烯的橡胶凝胶,粒度为5-1000nm。
上述填充剂可以单独使用或混合使用。在本发明方法的一个特别优选的实施方案中,用10-100重量份苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶(A),可选地与0.1-100重量份炭黑和/或0.4-100重量份淡色纤维(相对于100重量份橡胶(B))制备该混炼胶。
本发明的混炼胶可以还含有橡胶辅助物质例如交联剂、反应促进剂、抗氧化剂、热稳定剂、光稳定剂、臭氧稳定剂、加工助剂、增塑剂、防粘连剂、发泡剂、染料、颜料、蜡、增量剂、有机酸、阻燃剂、金属氧化物和填充剂活化剂例如三乙醇胺、聚乙二醇、己三醇、二(三乙氧基甲硅烷基丙基)四硫化物等,它们是橡胶领域中公知的。
橡胶辅助物质的常规用量尤其取决于希望达到的目的。常规用量是例如橡胶(B)重量的0.1-50%(重量)。
硫、硫给体或过氧化物可以用作常规的交联剂。本发明的混炼胶可以再含有硫化促进剂。适宜的硫化促进剂的例子是巯基苯并噻唑、巯基苯并噻唑硫酚(sulphene)酰胺、胍、秋兰姆、二硫代氨基甲酸酯、硫脲和硫代碳酸酯。硫化促进剂和硫或过氧化物的用量为橡胶(B)的0.1-10%(重量),优选0.1-5%(重量)。
本发明的混炼胶可以在100-200℃、优选130-180℃的温度下,可选地在10-200巴的压力下硫化。
本发明的从苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)和含有C=C双键的橡胶(B)制备的混炼胶可以用多种方法制备:一种方法自然是将各固体成分混合。辊炼机、密炼机和连续混炼机是用于此目的的适宜的设备实例。然而,也可以将苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶胶乳与未交联橡胶的胶乳混合。这样制备的本发明的混炼胶可以如往常那样通过蒸发、沉淀或冷冻凝固来分离(参见US-PS 2187146)。将填充剂混入胶乳混合物中随后处理可以直接获得橡胶/填充剂制剂形式的本发明混合物。
从苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)和含有双键的橡胶(B)制备的混炼胶还可以与附加的填充剂和可选的橡胶辅助物质在常规的混合设备例如辊炼机、密炼机和连续混炼机中混合。优选的混合温度是大约50-180℃。
本发明的硫化橡胶适用于制造模塑制品,例如用来制造电缆护套、软管、传送带、辊覆盖物、轮胎、特别是轮胎胎面、鞋跟、密封圈和隔音部件。
实施例1(a)交联乳胶形式的SBR橡胶
用6.708克水稀释26.976克含有24%(重量)通过聚合混入的苯乙烯的SBR胶乳(Bayer France,Port Jerome的Baystal BL 1357),该胶乳的粒度为60nm(CVN)、固体含量为37.1%(重量)。将150克过氧化二异丙苯加到60℃的高压釜中。然后将混合物在氮气氛下,于60℃搅拌2小时,然后加热至150℃,在该温度下搅拌45分钟。冷却后,通过monodur布(孔径0.2毫米)过滤。橡胶胶乳的固体含量为30%(重量),凝胶颗粒的溶胀指数为5,粒径为60nm。(b)交联SBR凝胶与未交联天然橡胶的混合

为沉淀3kg混炼胶,将8.78kg在加工步骤(b)中获得的胶乳混合物于65℃下搅拌加入225克NaCl、408克Al2(SOd)3x18H2O和4.5克明胶在30升水中的溶液中,通过加入10%硫酸使pH值保持在4。用水将产物充分洗涤,在70℃下真空干燥2天。
得到由50%(重量)交联SBR橡胶颗粒和50%(重量)天然橡胶组成的母料。比较例2

研究表明,本发明的苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶提供了明显较低的23℃的抗冲击值,经验表明,这对应着轮胎的在湿路上较大的抓着力,而70℃的抗冲击值却与比较混合物具有相同的水平,给出了相同数量级的滚动阻力。令人惊讶的是,聚丁二烯橡胶在混炼胶中的使用导致了磨损行为的明显改善,基本上不影响湿路抓着力(从23℃的抗冲击值推导出来)。按照GB-PS1078400的硫交联橡胶凝胶不表现出补强性能,因而不适用于本申请。

Claims (6)

1.从至少一种苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)和至少一种含有双键的橡胶(B)制备的混炼胶,其中相对于100重量份含有C=C双键的橡胶和可选的填充剂和橡胶辅助物质计,苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶含量为1-100重量份。
2.根据权利要求1的混炼胶,其特征在于苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)在甲苯中的溶胀指数为1-15。
3.根据权利要求1和2的混炼胶,其特征在于苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶(A)的粒度为5-1000nm。
4.根据权利要求1-3的混炼胶,其特征在于,相对于100重量份含有C=C双键的橡胶计,苯乙烯/丁二烯橡胶凝胶含量为为5-75重量份。
5.根据权利要求1的混炼胶在制备硫化橡胶中的用途。
6.根据权利要求1的混炼胶在制造模塑制品、特别是轮胎胎面中的用途。
