Background
Common symptoms of skin aging are wrinkle formation, reduction in skin moisture, decrease in elasticity, and the like, and particularly, skin wrinkles are an aging form that becomes a standard in measuring the degree of aging. Skin aging can be roughly classified into two types, one is endogenous skin aging that occurs naturally with age, and the other is photoaging caused by external factors such as ultraviolet rays. Endogenous aging can produce fine lines, xerosis cutis, decreased elasticity, etc., while photoaging produces coarse and deep wrinkles compared to endogenous aging, and also produces pigmentary diseases due to ultraviolet rays. Also, compared to endogenous aging, elastic fibers are severely deformed and the amount of collagen is severely reduced, resulting in the skin becoming thinner and the elasticity further decreases. The photoaging phenomenon, a disease that can be prevented and treated, requires development of a new concept of therapeutic technology based on research on the mechanism of occurrence.
The present inventors have studied the activity of a mixed extract of edible flowers used as scented tea in the process of searching for natural products having skin improvement effect, and have confirmed that the mixed extract obtained by mixing saffron, tropaeolum, gorgon and hibiscus exhibits excellent skin improvement effect by its synergistic effect, thereby completing the present invention.
