Description

Tick-expelling composition
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the field of sanitary pest control, and relates to a tick-repelling composition containing plant essential oil.
Background
Ticks belong to the general families of the mites and the ticks, about more than 1000 ticks are found all over the world, and more than 120 ticks are recorded in China. The tick is frequently hibernated on vegetation such as grasses, shrubs, forests and the like in hilly and mountain areas, is climbed on the body surfaces of animals such as birds, sheep, cattle, dogs and the like by a machine to bite and suck blood when blood sucking needs, is a temporary parasite on the body surfaces of various vertebrates, and is a propagation medium and a storage host for some zoonosis. The larvae, nymphs and male and female adults of the ticks suck blood, the hosts of the ticks are wide, and the hosts are required to be replaced in a lifetime, so that pathogenic microorganisms in wild animals or livestock are easily transmitted to human beings. The tick bites usually have no pain to suck blood, are not easy to be found, not only cause inflammation, edema and ulcer of host skin wounds, but also can cause paralysis of the host in severe cases, and simultaneously can transmit various diseases such as fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome, lyme disease, forest encephalitis, babesiosis disease, tick-transmitted fever and the like.
The season of the tick activity is more than 3-11 months, which is the period that people play outdoors in mountain forest lands and work outdoors, and the tick is easily attached and bitten by the tick when the protection is improper. At present, a repellent is sprayed on the surface of exposed skin, the existing tick repellent mostly adopts chemical pharmaceutical preparations, the tick repellent is suitable for temporary use for many times, side effects such as skin allergy and pruritus can be caused by frequent use of workers in the field and epidemic areas for a long time, the ticks can generate drug resistance to the tick repellent, and the effect is obviously reduced after long-time use.
The Chinese herbal medicines are used for repelling ticks, five, six or even more than ten kinds of raw materials are mostly required to be mixed and extracted to obtain effective fruits, and the problems of complex preparation, short shelf life, poor repelling effect and the like exist. In order to improve the effect, some patent applications also add traditional Chinese medicine raw materials with high toxicity or irritation, such as tripterygium wilfordii, rotenone and sulfur, and the safety problem can occur if the infants, pets or livestock eat the traditional Chinese medicine raw materials by mistake.
Disclosure of Invention
Aiming at the problems of insecurity and poor effect of the existing tick repellent, the invention provides the tick repellent composition containing the plant essential oil, which has good repellent effect and is safe to people and livestock.
In order to achieve the purpose, the invention adopts the following technical scheme.
A tick repellent composition comprises plant essential oil selected from one or two of fennel essential oil and citronella essential oil.

The citronella essential oil is citronellaCymbopogon nardusOr Java citronellaCymbopogon winterianus The essential oil obtained by the steam distillation method from fresh or dry overground part of Jowitt has the characteristic components and the content respectively meeting the requirements of ISO 3217-.
Preferably, the tick repellent composition comprises fennel essential oil and citronella essential oil in a mass ratio of 5:1-1: 2.
Preferably, the tick repellent composition further comprises anophelifuge or deet; more preferably, the mass ratio of the plant essential oil to the anophelifuge or the deet is 3:1-1: 2.
The invention also comprises an application of the tick repellent composition in a tick repellent product and a product containing the tick repellent composition.
The tick repellent product or the product application object containing the tick repellent composition can be a human, a domestic animal or a pet.
The dosage form of the tick repellent product can be spray or cream.
The content of the tick repellent composition in the tick repellent product can be adjusted according to the required repellent time, and is preferably 1-30% wt, and more preferably 1-10% wt.
The invention has the following advantages:
the tick repellent composition contains plant essential oil components which can be used as food additives, and has better using effect than the traditional chemical repellents such as anophelifuge, deet and the like. The plant essential oil is mixed for use or mixed with a chemical repellent for use, so that the synergistic effect is better. The tick repellent composition disclosed by the invention is long in repellent time and good in safety, and the toxicity of tick repellent products is reduced.
Detailed Description
The present invention will be further illustrated with reference to the following examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following examples.
Example 1 repellent Effect of tick repellent compositions on ticks
1. Sample preparation
The plant essential oils used in this example are all commercially available products, and the relevant characteristic components and contents are shown in table 1:
TABLE 1 characteristic Components and contents of plant essential oils
Figure 530331DEST_PATH_IMAGE001
Preparing plant essential oil into solutions with the concentration of 5% by using acetone respectively for later use;
preparing two chemical repellents of 99.5 percent of mosquito repellent ester raw material and 98 percent of deet raw material into solutions with the concentration of 5 percent respectively by using acetone for later use;
mixing the anise essential oil and the cogongrass essential oil according to the mass ratio of 5:1, 3:1, 1:1 and 1:2 respectively, and then adding acetone to prepare a 5% solution for later use;
mixing the essential oil and the chemical repellent according to the mass ratio of 3:1, 1:1 and 1:2 respectively, and then adding acetone to prepare a 5% solution for later use.
2. Preparation and determination of filter paper ring with medicine
Cutting a circular filter paper with the diameter of 22cm into a circular ring with the width of 2cm, uniformly dropwise adding 1mL of a sample to be detected as a filter paper ring with medicine, and dropwise adding 1mL of acetone as a blank control. Sticking the test paper ring in the test vessel, placing 20 haemaphysalis longicornis (C) in the center of the paper ringHaemaphysalis Iongicornis) The adult (male and female halves) or nymph of (1) was repeated 3 times per treatment, tick escape was timed and observed, and the time from the start of the test to the time the first tick in the pen left the paper filter pen was taken as the repelling time.
3. Results
Repellent time for the various treatments on young and adult ticks is shown in tables 2 and 3:
TABLE 2 repellent time on Ixoplasma tick with different treatments
Figure DEST_PATH_IMAGE002
TABLE 3 repellency time to adult ticks for various treatments
Figure 509788DEST_PATH_IMAGE003
From the results, the repellent effect of the fennel essential oil and the citronella essential oil on the nymph ticks and adult ticks is superior to that of the conventional chemical repellent; the repellent effect of the mixed fennel essential oil and citronella essential oil according to the mass ratio of 5:1-1:2 is superior to that of any essential oil when the essential oil is used alone, and the synergistic effect is achieved; when the plant essential oil and the chemical repellent are mixed according to the mass ratio of 3:1-1:2, the repellent effect is better than that of any one component when the components are used independently, and the synergistic effect is achieved.
Example 2 preparation of tick repellent spray and repellent assays
The fennel essential oil of example 1: citronella essential oil 1: dissolving and diluting the composition with the mosquito repellent ester mass ratio of 1:1:2 by using 70% alcohol to prepare a tick-expelling spray with the concentration of 1-5%, dissolving and diluting the composition by using 70% alcohol containing 0.1% emulsifier (Triton X-100) to prepare a tick-expelling spray with the concentration of 6-10%, and measuring the tick repellency after high-speed homogenization, wherein the commercial toilet water containing 4.5% mosquito repellent ester is used as a control.
The repellency determination was performed by vertical tube method: 10 ticks were placed into the bottom of a 10mL round-bottomed centrifuge tube (about 10cm high) with micropores in the wall to avoid air in the tube from becoming stagnant, the tube was placed upright with a 3X 3cm cotton cloth covering the tube mouth and secured with rubber band. 5 μ L of tick repellent spray and floral water at various concentrations were dropped onto the center of the tube cotton and a timer was started, each treatment was repeated 3 times. In order to attract the ticks, an observer places hands above the cotton cloth at the pipe orifice in the test process, and observes and records the time when the ticks climb onto the cotton cloth.
TABLE 4 tick repellent Effect of different concentrations of tick repellent compositions
