背景技术
水基涂料组合物用于形成建造物或建筑物的涂层,因为它们降低了对环境的影响。水性环氧粘合剂体系被称为水基涂料组合物,其形成具有良好性能(诸如优良的耐化学性和耐腐蚀性)的涂层。在第一代此类水性环氧粘合剂体系中,液体环氧树脂用作环氧粘合剂。第一代水性环氧粘合剂体系的涂料组合物通常含有外部乳化剂,以帮助环氧粘合剂分散在涂料组合物中。
在第二代水性环氧粘合剂体系中,使用固体环氧树脂代替液体环氧树脂。在进一步的创新中,开发了一种包含吸收有水性环氧树脂(丙烯酸/环氧杂化分散体)的丙烯酸聚合物颗粒的水分散体的涂料组合物,并在US2012/0301621A中公开。在丙烯酸/环氧杂化分散体中,水性环氧树脂被吸收在具有抗凝聚官能团的丙烯酸聚合物中。US2012/0301621A公开了丙烯酸类聚合物中抗凝聚官能团的浓度足以在热老化条件下稳定环氧树脂。
通常,环氧涂料组合物由两种不同的组分(部分)形成。在即将涂覆涂料组合物之前将两种组分混合以防止涂料组合物凝结(双组分体系)。通常,第一组分(A部分)包括涂料组合物的大部分成分,而第二组分(B部分)包括硬化剂。将B部分添加到A部分中,并在即将在材料上涂覆涂料组合物之前与A部分充分混合。
当在涂料组合物中添加无机颗粒(诸如颜料)时,使用分散剂将无机颗粒分散(研磨)在涂料组合物中。然而,当在A部分中使用常规丙烯酸类聚合物分散剂研磨无机颗粒时,由于丙烯酸类聚合物分散剂的丙烯酸羧酸酯基团与环氧树脂的环氧乙烷基团反应,因此A部分会存在胶体稳定性问题。因此,必须在B部分中添加无机材料和分散剂,但是由于通过添加无机材料和分散剂来增加B部分的量,因此增加了混合两部分的难度。
发明内容
本发明成功地解决了在A部分中添加无机材料时的稳定性问题。在本发明的一个实施例中,本发明涉及包含组分(A)和(B)的涂料组合物;其中组分(A)包含(a)水性环氧树脂分散体、(b)聚合物分散剂和(c)无机颗粒,和组分(B)包含固化剂,其中聚合物分散剂是包含抗凝聚官能团的聚合物。

本发明的水基涂料组合物由两部分形成-A部分和B部分。A部分是粘合剂相并且包含(a)水性环氧树脂分散体、(b)聚合物分散剂和(c)无机物颗粒,其中无机颗粒通过聚合物分散剂分散在A部分中,该聚合物分散剂包含不与环氧树脂分散体的环氧乙烷基团起反应的抗凝聚官能团。B部分是硬化剂相并包含硬化剂(固化剂)。
(A)-(a)水性环氧树脂分散体
水性环氧树脂是水基环氧树脂,并且在水中分散/乳化。在该应用中,水性环氧树脂分散体也称为水性环氧树脂。水性环氧树脂的实例包括但不限于:双酚A的二缩水甘油醚、双酚F的二缩水甘油醚、1,4-丁二醇二缩水甘油醚、1,6-己二醇二缩水甘油醚、邻苯二甲酸的二缩水甘油酯、1,4-环己烷甲醇二缩水甘油醚、1,3-环己烷甲醇二缩水甘油醚、六氢邻苯二甲酸二缩水甘油酯和酚醛清漆树脂。可以使用作为混合物形式的两种或更多种水性环氧树脂。这种水性环氧树脂在水中混合并形成分散体。市售的水性环氧树脂分散体是由Olin Corporation提供的OUDRASPERSETMWB-6001。
水性环氧树脂也可以被吸收到丙烯酸聚合物颗粒中,形成具有多相聚合物颗粒的水性分散体。US2012/0301621A描述了吸收的水性环氧树脂。吸收有丙烯酸类聚合物颗粒的可商购获得的水性环氧树脂分散体是由美国陶氏化学(DOW Chemical)提供的MAINCOTETMAEH-20。
以A部分的总干重计,水性环氧树脂分散体的量为10重量%至75重量%。以A部分的总干重计,水性环氧树脂分散体的量优选为15重量%或更高,更优选为20重量%或更高。以A部分的总干重计,水性分散体的量优选为70重量%或更少,更优选为60重量%或更少。
(A)-(b)聚合物分散剂
聚合物分散剂是具有抗凝聚官能团的聚合物。抗凝聚官能团是指不与环氧乙烷基团充分起反应的亲水基团。通常,此类聚合物是通过聚合包含具有抗凝聚官能团的单体的单体组合物形成的,尽管其也可以通过接枝聚合合成这种聚合物。
在本发明的某些实施例中,聚合物分散剂通过聚合单体组合物形成,该单体组合物包含:i)具有抗凝聚官能团的单体,ii)α,β-烯系不饱和羧酸单体和iii)α,β-烯系不饱和非离子单体。
具有抗凝聚官能团的单体的实例包括但不限于丙烯酰胺、甲基丙烯酸磷酸乙酯、苯乙烯磺酸钠和丙烯酰胺-甲基丙烷磺酸盐。由这些单体形成的相应的抗凝聚官能团如下所示:
虚线是指抗凝聚功能单体与聚合物的连接点。以聚合物分散剂的干重计,含有抗凝聚官能团的单体的量优选为5%或更多,更优选10%或更多最优选15%或更多。以聚合物分散剂的干重计,含有抗凝聚官能团的单体的量为80%或更少,更优选75%或更少,最优选70%或更少。
合适的α,β-烯系不饱和羧酸单体的实例包括但不限于一元酸(诸如丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、巴豆酸和酰氧基丙酸);和二元酸单体(诸如马来酸、富马酸和衣康酸)。以聚合物分散剂的干重计,α,β-烯系不饱和羧酸单体的量优选为0%或更多,更优选为0.1%或更多,最优选为1%或更多。同时,以聚合物分散剂的干重计,α,β-烯系不饱和羧酸单体的量优选为10%或更少,更优选为8%或更少,最优选为5%或更少。
合适的α,β-烯系不饱和非离子单体的实例包括但不限于丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、丙烯酸癸酯、丙烯酸月桂酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸丁酯、甲基丙烯酸异癸酯、甲基丙烯酸月桂酯、羟乙基酯(甲基)丙烯酸酯和(甲基)丙烯酸羟丙酯;甲基丙烯腈;乙基丙烯腈;苯乙烯和取代苯乙烯;丁二烯;乙烯、丙烯、α-烯烃(诸如1-癸烯);醋酸乙烯酯、丁酸乙烯酯、叔碳酸乙烯酯和其他乙烯基酯;和乙烯基单体(诸如氯乙烯和偏二氯乙烯)。优选的实例是丙烯酸丁酯、甲基丙烯酸丁酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸2-羟丁酯、甲基丙烯酸2-羟乙酯、(甲基)丙烯酸2-羟丙酯、苯乙烯及其混合物。以聚合物分散剂的干重计,α,β-烯系不饱和非离子单体的量优选为10%或更多,更优选为17%或更多,最优选为30%或更多。以聚合物分散剂的干重计,α,β-烯系不饱和非离子单体的量优选为95%或更少,更优选为90%或更少,最优选为85%或更少。
形成聚合物分散剂的方法取决于用于形成聚合物分散剂的单体的种类,并且是本领域技术人员所理解的,但它包括溶液聚合和乳液聚合。
优选地,聚合物分散剂的重均分子量为300至50,000道尔顿。更优选地,重均分子量为500至40,000道尔顿。
以A部分的总干重计,聚合物分散剂的量为0.01%至5%。以A部分的总干重计,聚合物分散剂的量优选为0.015%或更多,更优选0.02%或更多。以A部分的总干重计,聚合物分散剂的量优选为4%或更少,更优选3%或更少。
(A)-(c)无机颗粒
A部分包含无机颗粒,其通过上面公开的聚合物分散剂分散在A部分中。
这些无机颗粒可含有颜料、增量剂和填料。无机颗粒的实例包括但不限于金属氧化物(诸如氧化钛、氧化铝、氧化锌、氧化硅和氧化铁)、金属磷酸盐(诸如磷酸锌和磷酸铝、硫酸钡)、金属碳酸盐(诸如碳酸钙、炭黑、滑石、粘土、长石和石灰)。
增量剂是颗粒状无机材料,其折射率(RI)小于或等于1.8且大于1.3。增量剂的实例包括但不限于碳酸钙、粘土、硫酸钙、硅铝酸盐、硅酸盐、沸石、云母、硅藻土、实心或中空玻璃和陶瓷珠。
以A部分的总干重计,无机颗粒的量为20%至85%。以A部分的干重计,无机颗粒的量优选为25%或更多,更优选为30%或更多。以A部分的总干重计,无机颗粒的量优选为80%或更少,更优选75%或更少。
(A)-(d)其他成分
A部分可任选地包括其他成分(诸如水、润湿剂、消泡剂、粘合促进剂、溶剂和增稠剂)。润湿剂的实例包括但不限于Tego Twin 4100润湿剂、TRITONTMCF-10表面活性剂和ECOSURFTMLF-45表面活性剂。
消泡剂的实例包括但不限于Tego 902W消泡剂、Tego 1488变形剂、BYK-024变形剂和BYK-019变形剂。粘合促进剂的实例包括但不限于DOW CORNINGTMZ-6040硅烷和DOWCORNINGTMZ-6011硅烷。溶剂的实例包括但不限于DOWANOL DPnB二醇醚、DOWANOL PM丙二醇甲醚和Texanol酯醇。增稠剂的实例包括但不限于PRIMALTMRM-8W丙烯酸粘合剂、PRIMALTMRM-12W流变改性剂和Bentone LT添加剂。
A部分可使用台式顶置式混合器配制。A部分可以通过在高速分散下首先用聚合物分散剂研磨颜料和增量剂来制备。在减压阶段,在低速搅拌下将环氧树脂分散体和其它成分添加到颜料研磨中。
(B)硬化剂相
B部分是硬化剂相,在涂覆涂料组合物之前与A部分混合。B部分包括硬化剂(即固化剂)以固化涂料组合物。此类硬化剂的实例包括但不限于二亚乙基三胺、三亚乙基四胺、四亚乙基五胺、2,2,4-三甲基六亚甲基二胺、2,4,4-甲基六亚甲基二胺、1,6-己二胺、1-乙基-1,3-丙二胺、双(3-氨基丙基)哌嗪、N-氨基乙基哌嗪、双(3-氨基丙基)乙二胺、2,4-甲苯二胺、2,6-甲苯二胺、1,2-二氨基环己烷、1,4-二氨基-3,6-二乙基环己烷、1,2-二氨基-4-乙基环己烷、1,4-二氨基-3,6-二乙基环己烷、1-环己基-3,4-二氨基环己烷、异佛尔酮-二胺、降冰片二苯胺、4,4-二氨基二环己基甲烷、4,4-二氨基二环己基甲烷、4,4-二氨基二环己基丙烷、2,2-双(4-氨基环己基)丙烷、3,3-二甲基-4,4'-二氨基二环己基甲烷、3-氨基-1-环己烷-氨基-丙烷、1,3-和1,4-双(氨基甲基)环己烷、间苯二甲胺、对苯二甲胺、聚氧丙烯二胺、聚酰胺胺和通过反应形成的氨基塑料树脂脲和三聚氰胺与醛。
可商购获得的的硬化剂包括由Hexion提供的Epi-cure 8535、8536、8537、8290和8292固化剂;由Air Products提供的Anquamine 401和Epilink 381固化剂;由Allnex提供的Beckopox EH659W、EH623W和VEH2133W固化剂;和由Reothold提供的Epotuf 37-680和37-681固化剂。
B部分可任选地包括其他成分(诸如水、溶剂、消泡剂和增稠剂),它们也在A部分中列出。
将A部分和B部分混合在一起,然后涂料等待涂覆。涂料组合物中A部分与B部分的比例为90:1到2:1,优选是15:1到4:1(按重量计)。
涂料组合物的固体含量优选为20至70重量%,更优选为30至65重量%,最优选为40至60重量%。

二、测试过程
1.粘度稳定性
根据ASTM(美国试验和材料协会)D562的方法,使用Stormer粘度计分析涂料组合物的KU粘度。在形成涂料组合物后,在室温下分析涂料组合物的初始中等剪切粘度和初始KU,然后将涂料组合物置于50℃的烘箱中7天。分析储存后涂料组合物的粘度,并记录为最终的KU。初始KU和最终KU之间的差异定义为热老化粘度变化ΔKU。ΔKU值越小,粘度稳定性越好。
三、实验例
1.聚合物分散剂的制备(分散剂1至4)
分散剂1(对比实例):
向配备有机械搅拌器、N2吹扫、热电偶和冷凝器的5升五颈烧瓶中添加750g水和6.35g由BASF提供的Disponil Fes-32表面活性剂。将溶液加热至86℃。将溶解在30g水中的2.10g过硫酸钠(SPS)添加到溶液中。两分钟后,将包含419.36g去离子水、60.87g DisponilFes-32表面活性剂、50.00g丙烯酸乙酯、600.00g丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、350.00g甲基丙烯酸(MAA)和19.40g 3-巯基丙酸甲酯(MMP)的单体乳液添加到溶液中。同时,在90分钟内共同添加包含1.75g SPS和90.8g水的引发剂溶液,同时将溶液的温度保持在约86℃,并在进料结束后保持5分钟。将该溶液冷却至60℃后,追加剂系统包括:20g水的7.5g硫酸亚铁溶液(0.2%,aq)和1.18g叔丁基过氧化氢(t-BHP)溶液、和在该溶液中添加20g水的0.58g异抗坏血酸(IAA)溶液。在保持15分钟后,再次对相同的追加剂系统进行填充。将溶液冷却至40℃,并添加稀释水。最后,将所得物通过325目筛网过滤,得到总固体含量为40%的共聚物乳液。分散剂1的重均分子量(Mw)为约15000道尔顿。通过凝胶渗透色谱法测量Mw。
分散剂2:
向装有机械搅拌器、N2吹扫、热电偶和冷凝器的3升五颈烧瓶中添加420g水和1.95g Disponil Fes-993表面活性剂。将溶液加热至86℃。将溶解在5g水中的0.65g过硫酸钠(SPS)的引发剂添加到溶液中。两分钟后,将包含130.00g去离子水、18.30g DisponilFes-993表面活性剂、210.00g甲基丙烯酸丁酯(BMA)、15.00g甲基丙烯酸(MAA)、75.00g甲基丙烯酸磷酸乙酯(PEM)、以及12.87g正十二烷基硫醇的单体乳液添加到溶液中。同时,在90分钟的时段内共同添加包含0.53g SPS和60g水的引发剂溶液,同时将溶液的温度保持在约86℃,并在结束进料后保持5分钟。冷却至60℃后,追加剂系统将包括5g水中的4g硫酸亚铁溶液(0.2%,aq)和1.18g叔丁基过氧化氢(t-BHP)溶液、和5g水中的0.58g异抗坏血酸(IAA)溶液的追加剂系统添加到该溶液中。在保持15分钟后,再次对相同的追加剂系统进行填充。将溶液冷却至40℃,并在溶液中添加稀释水。最后,将所得物通过325目筛网过滤,得到总固体含量为30%的共聚物乳液。分散剂2的Mw为约10,900道尔顿。
分散剂3:
向装有机械搅拌器、N2吹扫、热电偶和冷凝器的3升五颈烧瓶中添加420g水和1.95g Disponil Fes-993表面活性剂。将溶液加热至86℃。将溶解在5g水中的0.65g过硫酸钠(SPS)的引发剂添加到溶液中。两分钟后,将包含130.00g去离子水、18.30g DisponilFes-993表面活性剂、225.00g甲基丙烯酸丁酯(BMA)、75.00g甲基丙烯酸磷酸乙酯(PEM)和12.87g正十二烷基硫醇的单体乳液添加到溶液中。同时,在90分钟的时段内共同添加包含0.53g SPS和60g水的引发剂溶液,同时将溶液的温度保持在约86℃,并在结束进料后保持5分钟。冷却至60℃后,追加剂系统将包括5g水中的4g硫酸亚铁溶液(0.2%,aq)和1.18g叔丁基过氧化氢(t-BHP)溶液和5g水中的0.58g异抗坏血酸(IAA)溶液的追加剂系统添加到该溶液。在保持15分钟后,再次对相同的追加剂系统进行填充。将溶液冷却至40℃,并添加稀释水。最后,将所得物通过325目筛网过滤,得到总固体含量为30%的共聚物乳液。
分散剂2和分散剂3也可以通过溶剂溶液聚合过程来合成。该过程由在丙二醇中在2-巯基乙醇和叔丁基过氧化氢存在下的溶剂逐渐加成热聚合组成。分散剂3的Mw为约11000道尔顿。
分散剂4
向装有冷凝器、磁力搅拌棒和热电偶的三颈烧瓶中添加600g蒸馏水。将252g的2-丙烯酰氨基-2-甲基丙烷磺酸(AMPS)、142g的羟丙基丙烯酸酯(HPA)、6g的丙烯酸(AA)、16g巯基乙醇和4g引发剂添加烧瓶中并溶于水中。将反应混合物在油浴中加热至65℃并除去加热源。允许反应通过放热来加热。放热后,将反应加热至80℃保持1.5小时。添加引发剂并将反应加热至85℃保持30分钟。然后将反应冷却至室温,并通过添加NaOH溶液将pH调节至中性。分散剂4的Mw为约6000道尔顿。
2.涂料组合物的制备
在表2中列出使用吸收的分散体的双组分(2k)制剂。通过用1500RPM的速度用聚合物分散剂研磨颜料和增量剂来配制A部分。20-30分钟后,添加MAINCOTETMAEH-20、以及DOWCORNINGTMZ6040、抑制剂溶液、溶剂、增稠剂和水以调节涂料的粘度。B部分是硬化剂。在将制剂涂覆于基体之前,将A部分和B部分独立储存。测量A部分在热老化储存之前和之后的Stormer粘度。
在表3中列出使用水性环氧树脂分散体的双组分(2k)制剂,并且该方法类似于上述方法。

对于具有MAINCOTETMAEH-20的涂料,对比实例1是常规的丙烯酸共聚物分散剂OROTANTM731A。涂漆后24小时的ΔKU非常高(+13个单位)。A经过7天的热老化储存(HA)后,涂料凝固,这表明由于环氧/丙烯酸反应,涂料的稳定性差。对比实例2是另一种丙烯酸共聚物分散剂,在组合物中含有35%MAA。24小时涂漆后的ΔKU是可接受的(4.5单位),但HA 7天后的ΔKU还太高而不可接受(27.9单位)。相比之下,含磺酸的分散剂(分散剂4,本发明实例3)和磷酸盐分散剂(分散剂2和3,本发明实例1和2)均显示出即使在7天HA之后也具有非常好的稳定性。

对于具有OUDRASPERSETMWB-6001的涂料,对比实例-3是常规丙烯酸共聚物分散剂OROTANTM731A。使用丙烯酸类分散剂,涂料稳定性差。在7天HA后,油漆沉淀并且ΔKU高达26单位。使用分散剂3制备发明实例4。涂料的稳定性非常好,HA后的ΔKU非常低(2个单位)。
Claims (6)
1.一种包含组分(A)和(B)的涂料组合物;
(A)以所述组分(A)的总干重量计,
(a)从10%至75%的水性环氧树脂分散体,
(b)从0.01%至5%的聚合物分散剂和
(c)从20%至85%的无机颗粒,和
(B)固化剂,
其中所述组分(A)和所述组分(B)的比例为90:1到2:1,以及所述聚合物分散剂是包含抗凝聚官能团的聚合物。
2.根据权利要求1所述的涂料组合物,其中所述聚合物分散剂由单体组合物形成,所述单体组合物包含:i)含有抗凝聚官能团的单体,ii)任选的α,β-烯系不饱和羧酸单体以及iii)α,β-烯系不饱和非离子单体。
3.根据权利要求2所述的涂料组合物,其中含有抗凝聚官能团的单体选自由丙烯酰胺、甲基丙烯酸磷酸乙酯、苯乙烯磺酸钠和丙烯酰胺-甲基丙烷磺酸盐组成的组。
4.根据权利要求2所述的涂料组合物,其中所述单体组合物包含以所述聚合物分散剂的干重计:i)从5至80重量%的含有抗凝聚官能团的单体,ii)从0至10重量%的α,β-烯系不饱和羧酸单体和iii)从10至95重量%的α,β-烯系不饱和非离子单体。
5.根据权利要求1所述的涂料组合物,其中所述聚合物分散剂的重均分子量为500至50,000道尔顿。
6.根据权利要求1所述的涂料组合物,其中所述无机颗粒分散在组分(A)中。
