Abstract

Description

本发明涉及通常以静止画面或“快照”形式同时显示对应各频道的多个图象的电视系统的所谓“频道指示”特性。
某些现有的电视接收机包含用于在较大图象内显示小画面插图的所谓画中画(PIP)处理器。这种PIP组件还能够同时显示多个(例如9或12)画面。这种多画面工作模式常常用于在所谓“频道指示”工作模式期间显示对应于各频道的多个图象。在“频道指示”工作模式期间,让电视系统的调谐器顺序调谐多个频道(对应于同时显示的图象数目)。当调谐每频道时,对应于视频帧或场的信息存储在与PIP处理器相连的存储器的相应部分。此后,将对应于各频道的视频信息从该存储器读出并在显示器的相应部分显示。存储在存储器中的视频信息可周期性地更新。“频道指示”特征对快速判定在多个频道上当前正提供有什么节目是有益的。
这种“频道指示”特征过去一直是根据用户发出的命令启动的。
这里认识到最好提供一种用于响应无节目信息自动启动画中画处理器的“频道指示”工作模式的装置。例如,这里认识到最好是在用户观看盒式录象带和录象节目完毕时自动启动“频道指示”工作模式。这使用户不必手动“扫描”各个频道即可知道正在放映什么节目。
更准确地说,按照本发明的一个方面,在一种含有调谐器、能够在显示器屏幕上产生多画面的画中画(PIP)处理器、以及用于控制调谐器和PIP处理器以便在“频道指示”工作模式期间在屏幕上产生对应于各频道的多个图象的装置的电视系统中,提供有用于判定何时没有节目信息的检测器。该检测器耦合于用于响应无节目信息而自动启动“频道指示”工作模式的控制器。
本发明可以若干种形式实施。在一种形式下,通过检测视频信号的同步分量确定无节目信息。在本发明另一种形式下,检测器可检测视频信号的有效间隔以确定在预定时间间隔内,例如,对应于电视场的全部或一部分的时间内,是否出现预定次数的图象转变。后者在下述情况下是有用的,即在诸如盒式录象机(VCR)或视盘重放机(VDP)之类的电视信号源中提供用于在无节目信息时产生均匀消隐图象(例如,以所谓蓝色或黑色屏幕方式)的电视信号(既作为已调制射频图象载波也作为基带视频信号)。
按照本发明的又一方面,画中画处理器可以位于电视机(即同时具有调谐器和显示器的电视接收机)中或位于象VCR一类不具有显示器的电视接收机中。
按照本发明又一方面,用于自动启动多画面工作模式的装置可用在具有用于接收基带信号的输入端的电视系统中,以在检测到无图象信息时同时显示对应于连接到基带信号输入端各信号源的多个图象。
按照本发明又一方面,用于自动启动多画面工作模式的装置可以用在具有用于接收电视信号的输入端和用于选择各个相应电视信号的选择电路的电视系统中,以便当在首次选择的电视信号中检测到无节目信息时在多画面图象的多个图象单元中显示对应于各个所选电视信号的多个图象。
本发明的这些方面和其它方面下面参照附图进行描述,附图中:

图1示出包含调谐器100,中频部分102,视频检波器104,视频信号处理部分106,解码器108,以及显示处理部分112的电视接收机。该接收机以常规形式布局以在解码器的相应输出端由所接收电视信号产生亮度(Y)信号和两个不同彩色信号(U和V)。Y,U,和V信号耦合到显示处理部分以便在显示器的屏幕上显示图象。该接收机还包含第一(AUX  1输入)和第二(AUX  2输入)辅助输入端以用于接收相应合成基带视频信号以及用于有选择地将视频检波器104的输出或两个辅助输入信号之一耦合至视频处理部分106的第一开关部分SW1。辅助输入可用于从盒式录象机(VCR)或视盘重放机(VDP)接收基带视频信号。
该接收机还包含用于可选择地在较大主图象内插入小的子图象的画中画(PIP)处理器110。PIP处理器从解码器108接收Y,U和V分量。它还接收由第二解码器114从第二开关SW2提供的从合成基带视频信号导出的视频信号(Y′,U′和V′)。第二开关SW2提供第一或第二辅助输入信号给第二解码器114。
PIP处理器110包括输入开关部分SW3,输出开关部分SW4,存储器110a,以及控制单元110b。PIP处理器110能够将对应于视频输入信号的两组分量中每一组(即两组包含信号Y、U、V或Y′、U′、V′的信号中的每一组)的小图象插入对应于另一组分量的视频输入信号的大的全屏幕图象。PIP处理器110还能够同时提供多个图象,具体结合本发明该多个图象就是在所谓“频道指示”工作模式期间与各自频道的节目相对应的多图象。
至此所描述的电视接收机各部分由包含在节目控制下工作的微处理器的电视控制器120控制。电视控制器120产生通过数据总线120′耦合于接收机各部分的数字控制信号。电视控制器120从含有直接安装在电视接收机上或安装在摇控发送器上的键盘的用户输入组件122接收用户启动命令。
在“频道指示”工作模式期间,电视控制器120使调谐器100顺序调谐不同频道。所调谐的频道号由将要同时显示的多个图象的数目确定。需顺序调谐的特定频道的频道号存储在与电视控制器关联的存储器124中。调谐频道之后,将一场相应图象信号存储在画中画处理器的存储器的相应部分。根据存储器大小,可存储一帧图象信息而不是场。当填满画中画处理器的所有部分时,以比读入它们时更快的频率顺序地将这些部分的内容从存储器读出。结果是以诸如图1a所示阵列显示的多个小图象。电视控制器120还使字符发生器126产生用于显示对应于将在屏幕相应部分显示的各种节目的频道号的字符表示信号。字符信号耦合于第一解码器这样它们可与Y,U和V分量视频信号组合。从例如题为“快速响应画中画电路”的美国专利4,914516(Duffield)可知道至此已描述的装置。
从调谐器或辅助输入得到的输入信号有时不包含相应于节目的信息。例如,调谐器当前调谐的频道可能脱离发射。另一方面,VCR或视盘重放机提供的预录制节目信息可能结束。在这种情况下,显示不产生表示节目内容的图象。当预录制节目结束时某些VCR和视盘重放机产生表示不变消隐图象的视频信号。例如,屏幕可能是不变的黑色或蓝色图象(后者即所谓“蓝屏幕”图象)。这里所用的术语“无节目信息”旨在包括用于形成不变黑色屏幕或任何色彩的不变屏幕的视频信号的出现以及包括无视频信号,这种情况会致使显示屏幕上显示“雪花”(即随机噪声)。
这里认识到当节目信息不存在时(即如上面所定义无节目信息时),最好通知用户正在上映那些节目。按照本发明的一个方面,这是通过在接收到的视频信号中不包括节目信息时自动启动所谓“频道指示”工作模式而实现的。更具体地说,将节目信息检测器130耦合于第一开关SW1的输出端以检测节目信息的出现。节目信息检测器的输出端耦合于电视控制器。在无节目信息时,电视控制器启动“频道指示”工作模式。节目信息检测器的具体细节将参照图2进行描述。
在描述图2所示的图象检测器之前,注意到除了使“频道指示”工作模式工作以外,按本发明的又一方面,有可能将多图象的某些区段分配给辅助基带信号源。这可通过让第一开关部分在检测器部分的输出与两个辅助输入中的每一个之间转换而实现。
现在参看图2,对图1布局中的节目信息检测器130进行详细描述。它包含具有同步分离器200和用于判定是否存在有效(正确)的同步分量的同步存在检测器205的第一部分。当接收的信号不包含任何视频信息时(即,既无节目也无同步信息),则不存在同步分量。但是,在所选频道或辅助视频信号源提供表示不变的消隐蓝色屏幕或黑色屏幕信号的情况下,则存在同步分量。为检测这种情况下的无节目信息,节目信号检测器的第二部分包含用于产生相应于视频信号转变的脉冲的微分器212,与定时脉冲发生器216关联的计数器214,以及用于判定是否在给定时间间隔内(即相应于场)已发生预定数目的信号转变。为了区分对应于节目信息的转变与对应于同步分量的转变,可在微分器212之前配备同步脉冲限幅器(未示出)以从视频信号除去同步分量。限幅器也可接在微分器(212)之后以便除去给定读出的转变(即变黑或变白)。如果没有同步分量,或者存在的转变比预定数目要少,则耦合于图象检测器两部分的“或”功能电路产生表示无节目信息的信号。亦即,连线210上的信号在无同步信号时为“真”(即逻辑高电平),而连线220上出现的信号在视频信号中缺乏足够变化的图象内容时为“真”(即逻辑高电平)。
图3示出了包含画中画处理器的VCR配置。图3配置中那些类似于图1的部分将不作详细说明。图1与图3所示配置的主要差别在于VCR包含用于在记录模式期间在磁带350上记录视频信息并在重放模式期间将之重放的记录部分340和重放部分345。重放部分345耦合于第一开关部分SW1′的输入端。通过比较,重放信号代替图1所示配置的第二辅助信号。用于从电视信号形成复合电视信号的编码器用来代替图1所示配置中的显示处理器单元。编码器312的输出耦合到基带视频输出端和在射频输出端提供已调制射频信号的射频调制器360。该VCR还包括字符发生器326以象在图1所示配置中一样用于产生字符信号。字符发生器还能够产生对应于不变消隐屏幕、例如蓝色或黑色的视频信号。
象图1的配置一样,节目信息检测器330耦合于第一开关部分SW1′的输出端。它可象图2所示般形成,或者可以仅仅包含用于在不配备辅助输入(用于接收来自VCR或VDP的信号)的情况下检测同步分量的不存在的第一部分。
自动启动频道指示的特征也根据耦合在磁带驱动器(如连接到磁带350的虚线所示)与电视控制器之间的“带尾”检测器370所产生的信号来形成。
将会理解上述实施例是示范性的并可作出更改。例如,在“频道指示”工作模式启动以前,可显示信息询问是否需要该工作模式。
此处所用术语“蓝色屏幕”旨在包括蓝色或任何其它色彩的不变的屏幕显示。
此处所用术语“电视接收机”包括具有显示器的电视接收机(熟知为电视机),以及无显示器的电视接收机,例如盒式录象机(VCR)。
此处所用术语“电视接收机”旨在包括具有射频调谐器和基带信号输入电路的电视监视器(接收机)。

Claims (10)

1、一种电视系统,它包含:
用于从多个电视信号选择一个电视信号的装置(100、SW1、SW2),
用于存储代表所述多个电视信号中每个信号的所选出电视信号的样值并产生表示包含在所述画面中的多个图象单元中的多个图象的画面的组合信号的信号处理装置(106、108、110),以及
用于自动使所述选择装置顺序选择各所述电视信号并自动使所述信号处理装置存储所述样值的控制装置(120),
其特征在于:
用于检测第一所选电视信号中的无节目信息的装置(130),
所述控制装置自动使所述选择装置顺序选择各所述电视信号,并自动使所述信号处理装置根据所述第一电视信号中无节目信息的所述检测来存储所述样值。
2、如权利要求1所述的电视系统,其特征在于:所述信号选择装置(100)是用于从所选择射频电视信号产生基带视频信号的调谐解调装置。
3、如权利要求1所述的电视系统,其特征还在于:
存储装置(124)具有表示存储在其中的电视频道表的数据,
