Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は例えばテレビジョン受像機等の画面を複数の
領域に区分し、各領域毎に異なる映像情報を表示するマ
ルチ画面表示方法に関する。
〔発明の概要〕
本発明においては複数に区分された領域のうち略中央
の領域の映像信号が１つの画面上に同時に複数表示され
る。
〔従来の技術〕
例えば特開昭56−154885号公報には、１つの画面を複
数の領域に区分し、各領域に異なる映像情報を同時に表
示させることが提案されている。１本のビデオテープに
複数のプログラムが記録されているような場合、各プロ
グラムを確認できる１つの小さい画面を生成し、それを
１つの画面上に同時にマルチ表示させ、インデックスと
するものである。
このように通常より小さい画面を生成する場合、通常
の画像情報を平均的にサンプリングするのが一般的であ
る。例えば通常の1/nの大きさの画面を生成する場合、
データを1/nに平均的に間引いてサンプリングし、全体
を平均的に圧縮する。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕 しかしながらこのようにデータを平均的にサンプリン
グすると、分解能が低下して画面があらくなり、見づら
くなる欠点がある。またサンプリングするためには周波
数帯域を制限するフィルタや、新たに生成される縮小画
像情報のためのメモリ等が必要になる。従って構成が複
雑になり、コスト高となる。
本発明は斯かる状況に鑑み発明されたもので、構成を
複雑にすることなくマルチ画面を生成できるようにした
ものである。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
本発明は、１つの画面を少なくとも９の領域に区分
し、各領域のうち略中央の領域の映像信号を記録媒体に
記録し、記録媒体に記録された複数の略中央の領域の映
像信号を記録媒体から再生し、これら再生された映像信
号を１つの画面上に同時に複数表示することを特徴とし
ている。
〔作用〕
１つの画面が複数の領域に区分されるので、１つの画
面の映像情報が各領域毎に区分される。記録媒体には複
数の画面の映像情報が記録されるが、各画面の全領域が
同時に１画面として表示できるばかりでなく、一部の領
域のみの表示もできるようになされている。そしてマル
チ画面として１つの画面上に同時に複数の映像情報を表
示するとき、各画面の略中央の領域の映像情報が用いら
れる。
〔実施例〕
第１図は本発明のマルチ画面表示装置の一実施例のブ
ロック図である。アナログ映像信号はビデオクロマ回路
１に入力され、輝度信号Ｙと色差信号Ｒ−Ｙ、Ｂ−Ｙに
復調される。これらの輝度信号と色差信号はA/D変換回
路２により例えば４ビットのディジタル信号に変換され
る。ディジタル信号はコントローラ10により制御される
スイッチ３を介してメモリ４に記憶される。
メモリ４は各データを画面に対応して記憶する。例え
ば第２図（ａ）に示すように、１つの画面は複数個の領
域に区分される。この実施例においては長さＸの横軸が
n1（＝４）個に、長さＹの縦軸がn2（＝４）個に、各々
区分されているので、合計n1n2（＝16）個の領域Ａ乃至
Ｐに区分されている。メモリ４も横軸のアドレス（4000
H）と縦軸のアドレス（4000V）が、画面の横軸Ｘと縦軸
Ｙに対応されている。従って画面の各領域Ａ乃至Ｐのデ
ータがメモリ４の各領域ａ乃至ｐに各々対応して記憶さ
れる。そして各領域ａ乃至ｐを単位としてデータの書き
込み又は読み出しができるようになされている。
このためコントローラ10は各領域を単位としたアドレ
スを発生することができるように構成されている。例え
ばメモリ４の領域ｆにのみデータを書き込み又は読み出
す場合、アドレス（1000H、1000V）から横軸方向のアド
レスを１づつ増加してアドレス（2000H、1000V）まで達
したとき、次に縦軸方向のアドレスを１だけ増加し、ア
ドレス（1000H、1001V）から再び横軸方向アドレスを１
づつ増加して行く。
コントローラ10に所定の指令が入力されたとき、メモ
リ４に記憶されたデータは読み出され、記録再生手段11
に入力される。記録再生手段11は入力されたデータを内
蔵する図示せぬメモリに記憶させ、所定の処理を施した
後光ディスク12に記録させる。
また所定の指令が入力されたときコントローラ10は記
録再生手段11を制御し、ディスク12に記録されたデータ
を再生させる。このデータはスイッチ３を介してメモリ
４に記憶される。
A/D変換回路２又は記録再生手段11から供給、記憶さ
れたデータは、コントローラ10から所定の指令が入力さ
れたとき、メモリ４から読み出され、輝度信号Ｙと色差
信号Ｒ−Ｙ、Ｂ−Ｙ毎にD/A変換回路５、６、７に各々
入力される。D/A変換回路５、６、７は各々の入力信号
をアナログ信号に変換し、マトリックス回路８に出力す
る。マトリックス回路８はこれらの信号からＲ、Ｇ、Ｂ
信号を生成し、輝度信号Ｙと共にCRT等の表示手段９に
出力し、表示させる。
以上のようにして複数の異なる画面が（全領域が）光
ディスク12に記録再生される。
このようにして記録されたデータから例えば４つのマ
ルチ画面を表示させる指令が入力されたとき、コントロ
ーラ10はメモリ４のアドレスを第３図に示すように制御
する。
すなわち記録再生手段11が出力する第１の画面（領域
A1乃至P1よりなる画面）のデータのうち、中央の領域
F1、G1、J1、K1のデータのみを分離、抽出する。そして
各領域F1、G1、J1、K1の各データをメモリ４の領域ａ、
ｂ、ｅ、ｆに各々記憶させる。以下同様にして領域A2乃
至P2よりなる第２の画面の中央の領域F2、G2、J2、K2の
データが各領域ｃ、ｄ、ｇ、ｈに、領域A3乃至P3よりな
る第３の画面の中央の領域F3、G3、J3、K3のデータが各
領域ｉ、ｊ、ｍ、ｎに、そして領域A4乃至P4よりなる第
４の画面の中央の領域F4、G4、J4、K4のデータが各領域
ｋ、ｌ、ｏ、ｐに、各々記憶される。
このようにしてメモリ４に記憶されたデータが表示手
段９に表示されると、１つの画面が４つの領域に区分さ
れ、各領域に各々異なる映像情報がマルチ表示される。
これらの映像情報は各画面のうち略中央の領域のみを部
分的に表示しているものなので、画像があらくなり、不
鮮明になるようなことはない。また一般的に画面の中央
に最も特徴的な部分が配置されているので、周囲の領域
が表示されなくとも内容の認識が可能であり、少なくと
もインデックスとしての効果を充分果たすことができ
る。
このように記録再生手段11又はA/D変換回路２から供
給されるデータを基にメモリ４にマルチ画面のデータを
記憶させたとき、これを記録再生手段11に供給すればマ
ルチ画面の映像情報をそのまま光ディスク12に記録する
ことができる。またこれを再生すれば特にアドレスの操
作をすることなくマルチ画面を表示手段９に表示させる
ことができる。このように各画面の一部の領域（中央の
領域）のみを表示できるものとしてマルチ画面の映像情
報を予め記録しておけば、前述したように再生データか
らその都度一部の領域（中央の領域）のみのデータを分
離、抽出して表示する場合より、１つのマルチ画面を表
示するのに要する時間を短くすることができる。
以上においては１つの画面を４つの領域に区分した例
を説明したが、16の領域に区分した場合は中央の領域と
して領域Ｆ、Ｇ、Ｊ、Ｋのうちのいずれか１つを用い、
８の領域に区分した場合は領域Ｆ、Ｇ又はＪ、Ｋを用い
ればよい。また例えば第４図に示すように９の領域に区
分したような場合は中央の領域は領域Ｅとなる。
光ディスク12上において、１つの画面を構成するデー
タを、通常のビデオディスク、ビデオテープ等と同様
に、走査の順序に従って配置することも可能である。こ
の場合、例えば領域Ａ、Ｂ、Ｃ、Ｄの各第１ラインのデ
ータが順序配置され、次に領域Ａ、Ｂ、Ｃ、Ｄの各第２
ラインのデータが順次配列される。第３ライン以降のデ
ータも同様である。
しかしながらこのようにすると各領域Ａ乃至Ｐ毎にデ
ータを読み出すときの光ディスク21のアドレスの指定が
複雑になる。そこで例えば各領域Ａ乃至Ｐ毎にデータを
配置させることができる。この場合例えば領域Ａのデー
タは第１セクタに、領域Ｂのデータは第２セクタに、以
下同様にして領域Ｐのデータは第16セクタに配置、記録
される。このようにするとセクタを特定するだけで１つ
の領域のデータを速やかに再生することができる。
〔効果〕
以上の如く本発明は、１つの画面を少なくとも９の領
域に区分し、各領域のうち略中央の領域の映像信号を記
録媒体に記録し、記録媒体に記録された複数の略中央の
領域の映像信号を記録媒体から再生し、これら再生され
た映像信号を１つの画面上に同時に複数表示するように
したので、構成が複雑になったり、コスト高になること
がない。また画面の分解能が減少せず、見づらくなるこ
ともない。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】１つの画面を少なくとも９の領域に区分
    し、前記各領域のうち略中央の領域の映像信号を記録媒
    体に記録し、前記記録媒体に記録された複数の前記略中
    央の領域の映像信号を前記記録媒体から再生し、これら
    再生された映像信号を１つの画面上に同時に複数表示す
    ることを特徴とするマルチ画面表示方法。
