Abstract

技术领域
背景技术
高密度存储盘被配置有材料层,材料层为存储提供所需的数据稳定性。当向盘写入时,媒介的磁性质可以被软化以辅助改变位状态。能量辅助磁记录(EAMR)设备或热辅助磁记录(HAMR)技术提供热量,当在磁存储盘上写入时,该热量聚焦在纳米大小的位区域上,这实现磁软化。光波导将光从激光二极管引导到近场换能器(NFT)。NFT将光能聚焦到目标记录区域上的小点,这样,在写入操作期间,光能加热磁存储盘。低效率的NFT能够对激光二极管的功率预算和EAMR/HAMR系统生命周期产生不良影响。较高NFT效率允许较低激光功率需求,从而缓解EAMR/HAMR系统对激光源的总光功率的要求,并导致用于寄生加热EAMR/HAMR磁头的较低功率,获得改善的可靠性。
在NFT中,等离子体金属能够用于与激励的介质波导接合,以用于传播表面等离极化激元(surface plasmon polariton,SPP),表面等离极化激元执行超越光衍射限制的纳米聚焦功能。高质量等离子体金属依赖于高密度自由电子,其具有弱机械鲁棒性,并容易遭受EAMR磁头中存在的热应力或机械应力引起的损坏。在这些应力下,EAMR/HAMR设备的使用寿命受到具有细(纳米大小)特征件(feature)的等离子体金属部件处(诸如在脊或引脚处)发生的NFT故障的限制。

图2示出NFT 200和波导芯布置的一个示例性实施例的示意图。NFT200可以由等离子体金属元件205形成,等离子体金属元件205可以与滑块的空气轴承表面(ABS)210对齐。记录介质113(例如,旋转的存储盘)的表面接触ABS 210。当滑块在记录介质113上方飞行时,在滑块和盘之间保持空气垫。在该实施例中,两个介质波导(WG)芯211、212布置为每个携带朝向ABS 210的光能。光能可以由常用激光二极管源(未示出)产生,光能可以被分光器(未示出)分成两半。介质波导芯211、212可以等长,以确保ABS 210处组合的能量波基本相位对齐以相长干涉并获得到记录介质113的表面的最大能量发射。可替换地,介质波导芯211、212可以不等长,以使入射能量波可以具有具体相位差,这优化ABS 210处的相长干涉和最大能量幅度。两个波导芯211、212基本是线性的,且在0和180度之间(例如,近似90度,如图2中示出的)的内角处会聚在靠近ABS 201的结点处。
如图2所示,每个波导芯211、212具有细脊特征件201、202,其沿着波导芯211、212的表面、面向等离子体金属元件205。出于说明目的,等离子体金属元件205被描述为透明的以显示下方的细脊特征件201、202。靠近等离子体金属元件205、来自介质波导芯211、212的细脊特征件201、202的光能激励沿着等离子体金属表面、朝向ABS的传播表面等离极化激元(PSPP)。波导芯211、212的细脊特征件201、202可以被配置为具有基本小于波导芯211、212的宽度的宽度。例如,与具有约300-500纳米(nm)的宽度的波导芯211、212相比,细脊特征件201、202的宽度可以约为10-70nm。而且,例如,细脊特征件的高度可以约为10-70nm。由于细脊特征件201、202形成在介质波导芯211、212上,介质波导芯211、212由比等离子金属更稳定的材料制成,因此可以改善NFT 200的可靠性和耐久性。
波导芯211、212和细脊特征件201、202的介质材料可以是,例如Ta2O5。例如,等离子体金属元件205的材料可以是金合金。可以用于形成金属条元件的等离子体金属的其他实例包括银合金或铜合金。等离子体金属元件205和介质波导芯211、212的细脊特征件201、202之间可以存在间隙(例如,20nm)。可替换地,可以省略间隙,并且等离子体金属元件205可以直接接触细脊特征件201、202,以至少用于细脊特征件201、202和等离子体金属元件205之间的界面的一部分。两个介质波导芯211、212和整个等离子体金属元件205可以由氧化硅材料封装。
可以如图2所示配置细脊特征件201、202,从而会聚在介质波导芯211、212的结点上方的结点处。细脊特征件201、202的结点可以出现在共用平面上。细脊特征件201、202的结点可以靠近ABS形成,其中如图2所示,延伸部203垂直于ABS 210布置。可替换地,ABS 210可以直接形成在细脊特征件201、202的结点处,因此省略延伸部203。记录盘113表面处传送的热点大小的精度可以基于细脊特征件延伸部203或ABS 210处的暴露结点201、202的暴露宽度。暴露的细脊特征件203和热点大小的宽度尺寸之间可以存在直接对应关系。可替换地,其他因素会影响热点大小,诸如波导芯211、212的长度,其会影响ABS 210处的入射光能的相长干涉。由于滑块在磁道上方飞行,记录盘113上的热点的目标大小取决于磁道大小,例如其宽度可以在10-70nm之间。热点的大小还取决于ABS 210和盘113之间的距离。热点的聚焦可以通过最小化间隙距离来优化。
等离子体金属元件205的厚度不是实现精确纳米大小的热点的重要因素,因此厚度可以根据提供足够热量传递以用于控制NFT 200中的峰值温度来配置。而且,使得波导芯211、212的细脊特征件201、202用作PSPP活动的能量聚集特征可以允许等离子体金属元件205具有宽松的形状和大小要求(即,长度和宽度尺寸),对于其,细特征不是必要的。与细脊特征件201、202交互所必需的形状和尺寸(即,覆盖细脊特征件201、202的覆盖范围)确定等离子体金属元件205配置。例如,半圆形形状等离子体金属元件205的大小可以为直径1000nm以及厚度大小大于100nm。尽管图2中示出为半圆形形状,等离子体金属元件205可以被配置为除半圆形外的各种形状,诸如矩形或多边形块。
与具有仅单个细脊特征件和ABS 210处的等离子体金属元件的NFT配置相比,如图2所示的具有用作PSPP元件的两个细脊特征件201、202的NFT 200配置可以提供近似两倍多的电场幅度,电场幅度由波导系统中的共同总输入功率驱动。两个PSPP元件产生的相长干涉允许改善从激光二极管源的能量传送效率,这转变为EAMR/HAMR设备的更长的使用寿命。为了优化两个PSPP元件配置的效率,每个PSPP元件201、202被配置有长度为L,L是从介质波导芯到PSPP元件201、202的耦合长度Lc的整数倍(例如,对于1200nm的Lc,PSPP元件的长度应该是约a(1200nm),其中a为整数值)。PSPP元件具有近似等于aLc的长度L,确保最大能量传递从ABS处的PSPP元件201、202传播。如果PSPP元件的长度偏离aLc,一些能量波可能在介质波导芯211、212中损失。
NFT 200不必限制为如图2示出的两个干涉PSPP元件。在一个可替换实施例中,N(正整数)个PSPP元件在ABS 210处干涉,这可以提供电场幅度的近N倍增加,其中电场幅度由波导系统中的共同总输入功率驱动。N的值能够增加到超过2或3,直到EAMR磁头的三维布局内的其它寄生干涉变成限制因素。对于N≥3,PSPP元件可以以三维配置被布置。等离子体金属元件205还将符合对应的三维配置,以为NFT 200提供具有细脊特征件的PSPP界面。
图3示出一个可替换示例性实施例,其中介质波导芯的细脊特征件202从波导芯的中心线偏移。因此,可以制造从波导芯212的中心线具有一定偏离的细脊特征件202,并且其仍与等离子体金属元件205接合以用于功能性PSPP界面。以类似的方式,可以形成从波导芯211的中心线具有偏移的细脊特征件201。在该可替换实施例中,如图2中所示的细脊特征件201、202会聚在靠近ABS 210的结点处,具有延伸部203或在ABS210处不具有延伸部203。
PSPP元件的数目可以相对于介质波导芯上的细脊特征件的数目而变化。图4示出其中波导芯202具有并排设置在等离子体金属元件205下方的两个细脊特征件202的一个实例。

Claims (12)

1.一种用于存储盘的能量辅助磁记录的装置,其包括:
靠近磁记录设备的空气轴承表面设置的多个介质波导芯,每个波导芯包括位于所述波导芯的第一表面上的细脊特征件并被配置为接收来自能量源的入射光能;和
所述空气轴承表面处形成的近场换能器,其用于聚焦从所述波导芯接收到的光能并将聚焦的光能发送到存储盘表面上以产生热点,所述近场换能器包括:
至少一个等离子体金属元件,其设置在所述波导芯的所述细脊特征件上方以形成用于将传播的表面等离极化激元即PSPP传送到所述空气轴承表面的界面;
其中每个细脊特征件被配置为具有近似等于所述热点的宽度的宽度;以及
其中所述波导芯的所述第一表面面对所述至少一个等离子体金属元件。
2.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述界面包括在至少一个等离子体金属元件和所述波导芯的所述细脊特征件之间的间隙。
3.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中
所述波导芯和对应的细脊特征件的每个基本是线性的并且包括第一端和第二端,以及
所有细脊特征件的所述第一端在靠近所述空气轴承表面的结点处连接在一起,其中连接的细脊特征件的至少一部分暴露在所述空气轴承表面上。
4.根据权利要求3所述的装置,其中所述第一端的所述结点进一步包括细脊特征件延伸部,其被配置为垂直于所述空气轴承表面并暴露在所述空气轴承表面上。

7.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述细脊特征件从所述波导芯的中心线偏移。
8.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述波导芯的至少一个包括在共同波导芯表面上的至少两个细脊特征件。
9.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述热点的所述宽度近似等于针对单个数据位保留的所述存储盘上的物理空间的宽度。
10.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述波导芯和所述等离子体金属元件由氧化硅材料封装。
11.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中至少三个波导芯和对应的细脊特征件以三维配置被布置,以与所述空气轴承表面处的所述至少一个等离子体金属元件接合。
12.一种磁硬盘驱动器,其包括:
可旋转磁存储盘;
激光二极管;
多个介质波导芯,其靠近磁记录设备的空气轴承表面设置,每个波导芯包括在所述波导芯的第一表面上的细脊特征件并被配置为接收来自能量源的入射光能;和
所述空气轴承表面处形成的近场换能器,其用于聚焦从所述波导芯接收到的光能,并将聚焦的光能发送到存储盘表面上以产生热点,所述近场换能器包括:
至少一个等离子体金属元件,其设置在所述波导芯的所述细脊特征件的上方以形成用于将传播的表面等离极化激元即PSPP传送到所述空气轴承表面的界面;
其中每个细脊特征件被配置为具有近似等于所述热点的宽度的宽度;以及
