Abstract

发明领域
本发明大体涉及光纤连接器,且更具体地涉及LC型连接器的双工夹持组件。
发明背景
在光纤网络中,信号通常是成对的,一个用来传送而另一个用来接收。因此,通常需要一种能够将连接器配对并按照适当极性排列的组件。此外,由于设备的高密集性,还期望能够移除连接器,但不必触及连接器外壳以便按下连接器闩锁。
发明内容
本申请描述了用于辅助插拔一对LC型光纤连接器的双工夹持组件的若干实施例。在一个实施例中,该组件包括带罩盖的夹体。该夹体具有中央壁、配置成宽松地保持一对LC型连接器以允许夹体可以相对于LC连接器轴向移动的上片和下片。罩盖被配置为当夹体相对于LC连接器轴向向后移动时用于与LC连接器闩锁上的凸轮面啮合。
在第二实施例中,该组件包括双工外壳和外壳盖。双工外壳可保持LC连接器,诸如允许LC连接器旋转。外壳盖具有从顶部突出的罩盖,该罩盖被配置成与LC连接器闩锁上的凸轮面啮合。

详细描述
图1-7示出LC双工夹持组件100的第一实施例。该组件包括一对LC连接器101、夹体102、以及护套103。
如图3最佳地所示,夹体102具有由中央壁106连接的一组上片104和一组下片105。该组上片104与中央壁106垂直并与该组下片105平行。上片104和下片105被配置成可以宽松地将LC连接器101保持在中央壁106的任一侧,从而允许夹体102可相对于LC连接器101轴向移动。夹体还具有罩盖107。罩盖107突出于夹体102的顶部。罩盖107被配置成当护套103和夹体102在相对于LC连接器101的轴向向后方向上移动时,罩盖107与LC连接器闩锁108上的凸轮面109啮合。
护套103附连到夹体102并设计成可以宽松地包围光缆110以便护套103能相对光缆110和LC连接器101轴向移动。在图1-7所示的实施例中,护套103经由位于夹体102和护套103上的啮合特征111、112连接到夹体102。护套103可由弹性材料制成,以允许折弯半径控制同时也允许足够的刚性以便在插拔连接器时抓握。
如图6和7最佳地所示,相对于LC连接器轴向向后移动护套103和夹体102引起罩盖107与LC连接器闩锁108的凸轮面109啮合,继而使得LC连接器101和端口120脱离。
图8-12示出LC双工夹持组件200的第二实施例。该实施例向护套203添加中心加强构件213。在向护套203施加压缩力时(比如抓握护套203过紧时),中心加强构件213能够帮助避免护套203的内壁内陷压在光缆110上。如果容许护套203的内壁内陷压在光缆110上,在护套203和光缆110之间所产生的摩擦力可限制夹体202和护套203轴向自由移动。中心加强构件213可位于靠近护套203的端部处,与护套203和夹体202相连之处相对,以允许护套203能折曲以便弯曲半径控制。
如图8-12所示,护套203可经由夹体202和护套203上的第二类型的啮合特征211、212连接到夹体102。通过按压护套203的侧面来使啮合特征211、212脱离并且随后将护套拉离夹体202(具体参见图11和12),如图8-12所示的啮合特征211、212可容许护套203和夹体202脱离。这种简便的移除过程同样容许连接器101从夹体202移除而无需工具,并可在需要时进行一侧到另一侧的转换以便反转双工夹持组件200的极性。
护套203还可具有抬高的抓握表面214和环状突起215,以帮助抓握护套203。
图13示出LC双工夹持组件300的另一实施例,该组件300带有罩盖307,其中罩盖的一部分可作为手动释放手柄316操作,允许用户通过相对于连接器101向后移动护套203和夹体302或通过按压手动释放手柄316,将LC连接器闩锁108从相应的端口脱离。
图14-17示出LC双工夹持组件400的第四实施例。该实施例可用于其中两根光纤被包裹在单根光缆中的情况,例如双芯护套线缆。组件400包括双工外壳451、外壳盖452、压接套管(crimp sleeve)453、护套454、以及一对LC型连接器101。
双工外壳451可由两个半壳体451a、451b组成,并且可以具有与半壳体一体化的主干455(如图14所示)或者可以是由半壳体451a、451b所限制的分离件。双工外壳451被配置成保持LC连接器101以容许其相对于双工外壳451旋转。光缆458的光纤456端接到连接器101,且光缆458上的凯夫拉尔(Kevlar)纤维457可经由压接套管453固定到双工外壳451。
外壳盖452具有从顶部突出的罩盖459,并被配置成宽松地保持双工外壳451和LC连接器101以允许外壳盖452相对于LC连接器101和双工外壳451轴向移动。外壳盖452也可具有环状突起464来帮助抓握外壳盖452。
如图16和17最佳地所示,相对于LC连接器101和双工外壳451轴向向后移动外壳盖452使得外壳盖403的罩盖459与LC连接器闩锁108上的凸轮面109啮合,从而允许LC连接器101从端口120脱离。
如有必要,通过按压外壳盖452的侧面来使底部卡扣460脱离、从双工外壳451和LC连接器101回收外壳盖452、将每个LC连接器101相对双工外壳451旋转180度、将外壳盖452相对于双工外壳451旋转180度、以及将外壳盖452向前推到双工外壳451上,LC双工组件400可以容易地在现场反转。
图18-21示出LC双工夹持组件500的第五实施例。该实施例与第四实施例相似,除了外壳盖552的罩盖559的一部分也可被用作手动释放手柄561以便允许用户通过相对于连接器向后移动外壳盖552或者通过按压手动释放手柄561将LC连接器101从其相应端口脱离。
图22示出LC双工组件600的第六实施例。该实施例具有不带罩盖且未被设计成相对于双工外壳和连接器轴向移动的外壳盖652。与在其他实施例中一样,外壳盖652可被设计成提供侧向支撑并避免连接器101旋转。
图23-24示出LC双工组件700的第七实施例。该实施例与第六实施例相似,除了具有从外壳盖752的顶端延伸的手动释放手柄761。
图25-28示出LC双工组件800的第八实施例。该实施例也与第六实施例相似,除了外壳盖852具有和美国专利No.7,632,125所述的相似的锁定组件870,该专利通过引用整体结合于此。
图29示出LC双工夹持组件900的第九实施例。该实施例与第六实施例相似,除了双工外壳951不允许连接器101相对于双工外壳951旋转。
通过从双工外壳951回收外壳盖652、将每个连接器101滑出双工外壳951、将每个连接器101相对于双工外壳951旋转180度、将LC连接器101滑回到双工外壳951、将外壳盖652相对于双工外壳951旋转180度、以及将外壳盖652滑回到双工外壳951上,该实施例900也可易于在现场反转。
虽然已经示出和描述了本发明的特定实施例和应用,但是应该理解,本发明并不局限于在此公开的精确结构和组成,各种变型、改动、和变化可在不背离如前所述的发明的精神和范围的情况下从以上描述变得显而易见。
Claims (10)
1.一种用于辅助插拔一对LC光纤连接器的双工夹持组件,包括:
夹体,所述夹体具有中央壁、一组上片、以及一组下片,所述上片垂直于所述中央壁并与所述下片平行,所述中央壁、上片、和下片被配置成宽松地保持一对LC连接器和与之附连的光缆,使得所述夹体能够相对于所述LC连接器轴向移动;
从所述夹体顶部突起的罩盖,所述罩盖被配置成当所述夹体在相对于所述LC连接器的轴向向后方向上移动时与所述LC连接器的闩锁上的凸轮面啮合。
2.如权利要求1所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,还包括附连到所述夹体的护套,所述护套被配置成宽松地包围附连到所述LC连接器的光缆,使得所述护套能够与所述夹体一起相对于所述光缆和LC连接器轴向移动。
3.如权利要求2所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,所述护套具有第一端以及与所述第一端相对的第二端,所述第一端附连到所述夹体,所述护套具有靠近所述第二端的中心加强构件。
4.如权利要求3所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,所述护套的所述第二端具有环状突起。
5.如权利要求4所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,所述护套进一步包括抬高的抓握表面。
6.如权利要求1所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,所述罩盖的至少一部分还形成手动释放手柄,所述手动释放手柄在受按压时能够同时与所述LC连接器上的闩锁啮合。
7.一种用于辅助插拔一对LC光纤连接器的双工夹持组件,包括:
双工外壳,所述双工外壳被配置成保持每个LC光纤连接器的部分;
外壳盖,所述外壳盖至少部分地围住并宽松地保持所述双工外壳,以允许所述外壳盖相对于所述双工外壳和所述LC连接器轴向移动;以及
罩盖,所述罩盖从所述外壳盖的顶部突出,所述罩盖被配置成当所述外壳盖在相对于所述LC连接器和双工外壳的轴向向后方向上移动时,与所述LC连接器的闩锁上的凸轮表面啮合。
8.如权利要求7所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,进一步包括被配置成部分地围住附连到所述LC连接器的双芯光缆的护套。
9.如权利要求7所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,所述外壳盖包括环状突起。
10.如权利要求7所述的双工夹持组件,其特征在于,所述罩盖的至少一部分形成手柄,所述手柄在受到按压时能够同时与所述LC连接器上的闩锁啮合。
