通用发动机的排气消音器
技术领域
本发明涉及通用发动机的排气消音器的改良,该通用发动机的排气消音器具有:经由排气管与通用发动机的气缸连结的消音器主体;分隔部件,其将该消音器主体内划分成与排气管连通的第一消音室及与消音器主体的排气出口连通的第二消音室;以及连通第一消音室与第二消音室之间的连通单元。
背景技术
所述通用发动机的排气消音器如下述专利文献1所公开的那样已被公知。

发明内容
发明所要解决的课题
一般为了提高发动机的废气的消音效果,通过废气冷却来降低压力是有效的,在机动两轮车和汽车中,由于能够使连通发动机与排气消音器之间的排气管形成得充分长,所以,在发动机的废气通过排气管的期间,对该废气进行冷却,能够实现其压力的降低。
但是,在专利文献1公开的通用发动机中,由于需要使排气消音器接近通用发动机的气缸地配置而使整体紧凑,所以连结气缸与排气消音器之间的排气管必然短,不能寄希望于排气管对废气冷却。
本发明是鉴于上述情况而完成的,其目的是提供一种通用发动机的排气消音器,即使将排气消音器与通用发动机的气缸接近地配置,也能够促进废气的冷却,并能够提高由废气的压力降低产生的消音效果。
为了实现上述目的,本发明的通用发动机的排气消音器具有:经由排气管与通用发动机的气缸连结的消音器主体;分隔部件,所述分隔部件将该消音器主体内划分成与排气管连通的第一消音室及与消音器主体的排气出口连通的第二消音室;以及连通第一消音室与第二消音室之间的连通单元,所述通用发动机的排气消音器的第一特征在于,所述连通单元由排气冷却管构成,所述排气冷却管连通第一消音室与第二消音室之间且向消音器主体外露出。此外,所述排气出口与后述的本发明的实施例中的排气出口管35对应。
另外,在第一特征的基础上,本发明的第二特征在于,所述排气冷却管配置成,其上游端贯穿消音器主体的连结有排气管的一侧壁而向第一消音室开口,而其下游端贯穿所述一侧壁及第一消音室而向第二消音室开口。
而且,在第一或第二特征的基础上,本发明第三特征在于,在所述排气冷却管的向消音器主体外侧露出的露出部,安装有与所述排气管一起被固定于气缸的支架。
发明效果
根据本发明的第一特征,从排气管流入到第一消音室的废气通过露出至消音器主体外的排气冷却管而被冷却,借助该冷却所产生的废气的压力降低,能够有效地实现废气的消音。另外,这样的废气的压力降低不仅能够消音,还有助于抑制在发动机的运转停止后残留在排气消音器内的未燃气体自然点火的后燃(after burn)现象。而且,这样的废气冷却产生的压力降低通过使连通第一消音室与第二消音室之间的排气冷却管向消音器主体下方露出而实现,从而不需要特别扩大消音器主体的容积,能够避免排气消音器大型化。
根据本发明的第二特征,将排气冷却管与排气管一起集中地安装于消音器主体的一侧壁,从而能够良好地保证排气消音器的外观。
根据本发明的第三特征,排气冷却管经由支架被支承于发动机的气缸,能够有效地抑制排气冷却管振动。而且,对于上述支架向气缸的固定,利用了排气管向气缸的固定,从而其固定手段简单且廉价。

基于附图所示的本发明的优选实施例说明本发明的实施方式。
实施例1
首先,在图1~图4中,通用发动机E的发动机主体1由以下部件构成:下表面具有安装凸缘2a且水平地支承曲轴4的曲轴箱2;和从该曲轴箱2朝向一侧向斜上方突出的气缸3。在曲轴4的前端固定有飞轮12(参照图4)以及与该飞轮12的前端重合的冷却风扇13。曲轴4的后端部成为与各种作业机连结的输出部。
在曲轴箱2的正面侧安装有:转动曲轴4的反冲式发动机起动器5;和覆盖该起动器5的外部空气导入用格栅14。格栅14具有大量外部空气导入孔,与该格栅14的后端相连且在气缸3周围划分出冷却风通路41的护罩42安装于曲轴箱2及气缸3。而且,通过冷却风扇13的工作,使外部空气即冷却风从格栅14导入并在冷却风通路 41中流动,从而对曲轴箱2及气缸3的周围进行冷却,然后,向后述的排气消音器M侧排出。
另外,在发动机主体1安装有:配置于曲轴箱2的上方的燃料箱T;以及位于气缸3的正上方且与燃料箱T相邻的进气空气滤清器A及排气消音器M。
所述气缸3由以下部件构成:与曲轴箱2相连的气缸体3a;气缸盖3b,所述气缸盖3b与该气缸体3a的端面接合且具有气缸体3a内的活塞6所面对的燃烧室7;以及气缸盖罩3c,所述气缸盖罩3c与该气缸盖3b接合,并且在所述气缸盖罩3c与所述气缸盖3b之间划分出气门传动室8。在气缸盖3b上借助螺栓11固定有与排气口9连通的排气管10的下端凸缘10a,所述排气口9与燃烧室7相连,排气消音器M与该排气管10连结。为了能够使排气消音器M与气缸3相邻地配置而将排气管10形成得较短。
关于上述排气消音器M,通过图5~图10进行说明。
如图5及图6所示,排气消音器M具有:箱型的消音器主体15;分隔部件19,所述分隔部件19在该消音器主体15内沿一条对角线配置,并将该内部划分成第一消音室16及第二消音室17;以及合成树脂或钢板制成的消音器罩20,所述消音器罩20覆盖除了消音器主体15的靠排气管10侧的下表面以外的外表面,并借助多个自攻螺钉21、21...被固定于消音器主体15。
消音器主体15由沿一条对角线被分割的钢板制成的上部消音器半体15a及下部消音器半体15b构成,通过将上部消音器半体15a外周的铆接部22铆接在下部消音器半体15b外周的凸缘部23上,由此将两消音器半体15a、15b结合起来。此时,在铆接部22与凸缘部23之间夹持所述分隔部件19的外周部,从而将分隔部件19与消音器主体15结合起来。
在下部消音器半体15b的下侧壁的内表面,焊接有向该下侧壁下方突出的连结螺栓28,借助该连结螺栓28及与其螺合的螺母29将下部消音器半体15b固定于所述排气管10的上端凸缘10b。在下部消音器半体15b的下侧壁设置有使上述排气管10向第一消音室16敞开的排气入口25。
另外,在下部消音器半体15b的下侧壁焊接有以U字形弯曲的排气冷却管31。该排气冷却管31的上游端31a贯穿下部消音器半体15b的下侧壁而在第一消音室16的上下方向中间位置敞开,该排气冷却管31的下游端31b贯穿下部消音器半体15b的下侧壁、第一消音室16及分隔部件19而向第二消音室17敞开。此时,将排气冷却管31焊接于其所贯穿的分隔部件19的贯穿孔36周围。向消音器主体15外露出的排气管10及排气冷却管31的周围成为如前所述地冷却气缸3的冷却风的通道。
如图5及图6所示,在排气冷却管31的向消音器主体15下方露出的部分通过焊接固定有支架43,该支架43与排气管10的下端凸缘10a一起借助所述螺栓11被固定在气缸盖3b上。
如图7~图10所示,分隔部件19由相互接合的钢板制成的上部分隔半体19a及下部分隔半体19b构成。在这两个分隔半体19a、19b的半部分之间,使它们向外侧鼓出而形成有第三消音室18,并且将第二消音室17与该第三消音室18连通的第一连通孔32、32...组设置于上部分隔半体19a。进而,第三消音室18经由排气出口管35向大气开放。
上述排气出口管35由以下部件构成:以横穿第三消音室18的方式支承于上部及下部分隔半体19a、19b之间的管部件35a;以及与该管部件35a连通地向上部及下部分隔半体19a、19b之间鼓出而形成的管状部35b。该管状部35b贯穿上部及下部消音器半体15a、15b的接合面之间,并向外部突出地配置。在管部件35a设置有将第三消音室18与排气出口管35连通的第二连通孔33、33...组。
如图9所示,在消音器罩20设置有容纳排气出口管35的外端开口部的通孔38,并且附设有覆盖该通孔38的金属网制成的火花捕捉器39。
以下,对该实施例的作用进行说明。
在发动机E的排气行程中,从燃烧室7排出的废气依次经由排气口9、排气管10及排气入口25而流入于第一消音室16,然后从第一消音室16经由排气冷却管31而转移到第二消音室17,接着通过第一连通孔32、32...而转移到第三消音室18,再从第二连通孔33、33...向排气出口管35内转移,并排出到大气中。这样,废气在从排气管10向排气出口管35依次转移的期间,通过多次膨胀产生的衰减作用被消音。
这里应注意的是,从排气管10流入到第一消音室16的废气通过被安装在消音器主体15的下侧壁且向消音器主体15的下方的外部空气露出的U字形的排气冷却管31而被冷却,借助该冷却使得废气的压力降低,所以能够有效地实现废气的消音。而且,排气管10及排气冷却管31配置于冷却气缸3的冷却风的通道,所以,能够借助该冷却风有效地冷却排气管10及排气冷却管31,能够进一步促进在它们的内部流动的废气的冷却产生的压力降低。
这样的废气的压力降低不仅能够消音,还能够起到在通用发动机E的运转停止后抑制残留在排气消音器M内的未燃气体自然点火的后燃现象的效果。
另外,这样的废气冷却所产生的压力降低能够通过使连通第一消音室16与第二消音室17之间的排气冷却管31向消音器主体15下方露出而实现,所以,不需要特别扩大消音器主体15的容积,能够避免排气消音器M大型化。
而且,连通第一消音室16及第二消音室17之间的排气冷却管31配置成,一旦从第一消音室16贯穿消音器主体15的下侧壁而向下方排出之后,再贯穿所述下侧壁,进一步贯穿第一消音室16而向第二消音室17敞开,所以将排气冷却管31与排气管10一起集中地安装于消音器主体15的下侧壁,因此,能够抑制排气冷却管31向消音器主体15的侧方或上方突出,并能够良好地保证排气消音器M的外观。
本发明不限于上述实施例,在不脱离其主旨的范围内能够进行各种设计变更。例如,还能够将第二消音室17与排气出口管35直接连通而废除第三消音室18。
