技术领域
本发明涉及将插管模制到注射器针筒上的筒夹机构和方法;更具体地,涉及将细规格的插管模制到聚合物注射器针筒上以形成立桩针装置的筒夹机构及方法。
背景技术
将插管结合在注射器针筒上的过程是注射器制造过程中的关键步骤。插管必须精确地定位,然后不受损害地结合到注射器上。在插管末端中的最微小的弯曲或毛刺会提高患者感知的疼痛。插管优选直接地与注射器的中心轴线在同一直线上。插管还必须充分结合在注射器上,以承受根据国际标准组织(ISO)标准的最小22N的拉力评定。对于聚合物注射器来说,插管通常以与玻璃注射器相类似的方式被过盈配合在预成型注射器针筒内。插管经常通过粘合剂固定在注射器上。然而,采用粘合剂将插管固定在注射器上是不符合要求的,因为粘合剂包含可能浸入注射器内容物(其由一种或多种药品/生物化合物组成)的有毒化学品,并可能会改变最终进入患者体内的注射器内容物的功效和/或稳定性。
为了避免采用粘合剂,插管(通常25号或更大)通常朝向其近端卷曲,随后注射器针筒插嵌模制在插管的近端上,使得注射器模压在卷曲近端上以使插管可靠地夹持和保持在注射器上。尽管使近端卷曲可避免采用粘合剂,但更细规格的插管(也就是27-33号)通常不能得到卷曲,因为它们较小的物理尺寸有可能因卷曲而破坏插管。具体地,由于这些更细规格插管的管道的壁非常薄,因此在物理上不完全封闭插管的内径就不可能使所述插管的外径卷曲。无论采用何种连接方法,都难以不破坏插管就定位、保持和/或安装易碎的细规格插管。
因此,所需要的、但在现有技术中未提供的是这样一种机构,其在模制过程中将插管尤其是小直径插管保持在适当位置,以将插管直接可靠地连接在聚合物注射器针筒上,而无需采用粘合剂或无需使插管卷曲,并且不会破坏插管尤其是插管的尖锐斜切尖端。
发明内容
简言之,本申请涉及一种在注射器模制过程中用于保持插管的筒夹机构。该筒夹机构包括形成内腔的第一和第二臂。每个臂具有近端和梢端,其中当梢端向内腔移动时,所述第一和第二臂处于闭合位置,并且当梢端远离内腔定位时,所述第一和第二臂处于打开位置。第一和第二插管导向件分别靠近第一和第二臂的梢端安装并延伸到内腔内。当第一和第二臂处于闭合位置时,第一和第二插管导向件夹紧插管的一部分以保持插管。

具体实施方式
在以下说明中采用的某些术语仅仅为了方便描述而不是限定。术语“右”、“左”、“下”和“上”指定的是所参照的附图中的方向。术语“向内”和“向外”指代分别朝向和远离筒夹机构的几何中心及其指定部分的方向。除非在此特别规定,否则术语“一个”和“这个”不局限于一个元件,而应该被理解为“至少一个”。术语包括以上提及的词、其派生词和类似含义的词语。
参照附图,其中相同的附图标记指示同一元件,其中在图3-7和11-13中示出了筒夹机构10的第一优选实施方式。筒夹机构10被用于,在总体由附图标记14表示的立桩针(staked needle)的插嵌模制过程或另一种模制过程中,使插管12定位和保持在适当位置而不使得破坏插管12。
参照图1A-2C,立桩针14包括直接插嵌模制在插管(cannula)12上的聚合物针筒(barrel)16。针筒16优选由透明的环烯烃共聚物或聚合物(COC或COP)组成。针筒16还可以是包括有备选的增强阻隔聚合物组分(enhanced barrier polymer constituent)的共注塑或多组分聚合物针筒。针筒16的梢端16a在插管12的近端12b上延伸,并包括锥形梢端17。插管12可靠连接在针筒16的梢端16a上,所述针筒16的梢端16a直接插嵌模制在插管12上。梢端17大体上是中空的,以绕插管12形成套筒(图1E和1F)。绕插管12挖空梢端17的内部,用来防止模制过程中熔融的聚合物材料进入中空的插管内,否则这将产生堵塞的和无法使用的插管。此外,绕插管12挖空梢端17的内部,将降低了与插管12相接触的聚合物材料数量,并由此进一步降低了如下文所述的插嵌模制过程所需的冷却时间。梢端17具有足够的尺寸和锥度,以使得插管或通常被制造用于立桩玻璃针的针防护件(未示出)可以通过类似方式连接在针筒16上。
具体参照图2A-2C,插管12优选是细规格(也就是27-33号)的中空金属针。27号的针通常具有0.0160-0.0165英寸的额定外径和0.0075-0.0090英寸的额定内径。33号的针通常具有0.0080-0.0085英寸的额定外径和0.0035-0.0050英寸的额定内径。插管12的内腔13优选是直的。插管12优选具有三斜面磨削(three-bevel grind)的尖端12a,这意味着尖端12a以三个相不同的角度形成锥形,以降低在立桩针14的使用过程中患者所感受的痛苦。
优选地,在插管12的近端12b的至少一部分的外表面上形成多个槽口18。槽口18优选沿径向向内延伸,并相互轴向间隔开。槽口18优选被机加工在插管12的近端12b内。槽口18有助于使插管12的近端12b固定或紧固在针筒16的梢端16a上,因为形成梢端16a的聚合物材料如下文所述地在模制过程中流入并填充槽口18,以在近端12b与针筒梢端16a之间提供增强的摩擦力和夹紧力。因为插管12由于其尺寸不能够弯曲而不对插管12造成潜在的破坏,所以在插管12上所形成的槽口18代替了上述现有技术中采用的卷曲插管12的功能。如图1F所示,插管12的近端12b的一部分12c因模制过程而延伸穿过梢端16a并进入针筒16内,这一点在下文进一步描述。插管12的近端12b的至少一部分还可以通过机械或化学表面处理(包括烧蚀)而纹理化或变粗糙(在图2C中使用交叉剖面线来显示),以进一步增大插管12的近端12b的夹紧力并使近端12b更好地紧固在针筒16的梢端16a上。尽管上述插管12是优选的,但在本发明的精神和范围内可以采用任何尺寸和形状的针筒。

优选地,利用工具例如通用扳手,通过将该工具插入插管导向件48,50,52,54的调节开口60内,以使插管导向件48,50,52,54定位在内腔46内的预定深度处,从而使得插管导向件48,50,52,54相对于柔性臂38,40,42,44和内腔46的位置可以调节。由于插管12的尺寸可以改变并且筒夹机构10的尺寸可以略微改变,因此插管导向件48,50,52,54的位置可调节性允许使用者调节和设定被施加在插管12上的压力和所产生的力,其中利用该力使得插管导向件48,50,52,54接触插管12。优选地,插管导向件48,50,52,54的位置可以根据预定力得到调节。因而,插管导向件48,50,52,54可以充分地使插管12定位和保持在所需位置,而不会对插管12造成破坏(也就是对其弯曲、卷曲或刮擦),而是具有足够的力来保持插管12而不允许其在注塑模制、插嵌模制或其他模制过程中移动。优选地,在处于闭合位置并与插管12接触时,插管导向件48,50,52,54在插管12上施加预定大小的力,以使得插管12不会受到破坏并且插管12的尖端12a的尖度在模制过程中不会改变。然而,在本发明的精神和范围内,插管导向件48,50,52,54可以不移动地安装在相应柔性臂38,40,42,44上。

一旦插管12和A侧模具22已经定位在型芯元件28上,则优选具有带梢端38b,40b,42b,44b的柔性臂38,40,42,44的筒夹机构10穿过A侧模具22插入在插管12的锥形尖端12a上,使得筒夹机构10的梢端10b通过锥形接收口34得到引导以使筒夹机构10移动到闭合位置。更具体地,当柔性臂38,40,42,44的梢端38b,40b,42b,44b沿锥形接收口34的锥体滑动时,柔性臂38,40,42,44的梢端38b,40b,42b,44b插入到使柔性臂38,40,42,44朝向内腔46移动或弯曲的锥形接收口34内,直至筒夹机构10接靠着A侧模具22。一旦筒夹机构10接靠着A侧模具22,或通过其他方式得以停止,并且梢端38b,40b,42b,44b如图11和12所示地完全容纳在接收口34中,则筒夹机构10处于闭合位置。在闭合位置,插管导向件48,50,52,54夹紧着与插管12的尖端12a相分隔的插管12一部分,以将插管12保持成大体上与筒夹机构10的中心纵向轴线10a以及与型芯元件28的中心纵向轴线28b相对准。插管12延伸超过柔性臂38,40,42,44的梢端38b,40b,42b,44b,由此筒夹机构10不会破坏插管12的斜切尖端12a。此外,在闭合位置,插管12被定位并紧密保持在内腔46的中心,并且大体上与立桩针14的中心线14a在同一直线上(参见图1D)。
具体参照图11,一旦筒夹机构10处于模具20的A侧模具22内的适当位置,则熔融的聚合物材料(未示出)靠近分模线26(分配线未示出)地被注入模腔30内,直至模腔30完全充满熔融的聚合物材料。模具20在大致230°F的温度下操作。模具20保持闭合,并且随后使熔融的聚合物材料在至少插管12的近端12b上冷却到基本上固化状态。聚合物材料大致用30秒实现基本上固化。一旦聚合物材料被冷却到半硬化物体以及优选地被冷却成完全硬化物体,则拆除筒夹机构10和A侧模具22,以使得插管导向件48,50,52,54释放插管12。随后,通过机器人臂(未示出)从钢型芯元件28上拆除立桩针14和所连的插管12,并且如果需要的话,使聚合物材料进一步冷却和固化成完全硬化的物体。
本领域技术人员将会认识到,在不脱离上述实施方式的广义发明构思的前提下,可以对其做出改变。因此,可以理解,本发明并不局限于所公开的具体实施方式,而是覆盖本发明精神和范围内的各种修改。
此外,在所述方法不依赖于在此提出的具体步骤顺序的情况下,在优选方法中提出的具体步骤顺序不应该被解释为限定。本领域技术人员将会很容易认识到,这些步骤可以改变,并仍然保持在本发明的精神和范围内。

Claims (9)

1.一种用于在注射器模制过程中保持插管的筒夹机构,该筒夹机构包括:
形成内腔的第一臂和第二臂,每个臂具有近端和梢端,其中当梢端向内腔移动时,所述第一臂和第二臂处于闭合位置,并且当梢端离开内腔定位时,所述第一臂和第二臂处于打开位置;
第一插管导向件和第二插管导向件,其分别靠近第一臂和第二臂的梢端安装并延伸到内腔内,其中当第一臂和第二臂处于闭合位置时,第一插管导向件和第二插管导向件夹紧插管的一部分以保持着插管,
其中,第一和第二插管导向件相对于第一和第二臂以及内腔的位置能够以如下方式得到调节,即第一和第二插管导向件接触插管时所使用的力可调节。
2.如权利要求1所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,第一插管导向件和第二插管导向件被定位成彼此相对。
3.如权利要求1所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,当第一臂和第二臂处于打开位置时,第一和第二插管导向件与插管分隔开。
4.如权利要求1所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,还包括第三臂和第四臂,其中每个臂具有梢端和靠近梢端进行安装的插管导向件。
5.如权利要求1所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,第一和第二插管导向件以如下的方式利用预定力在与插管尖端相间隔的位置处接触着插管,即当第一和第二臂处于闭合位置时,插管未受到破坏并且插管尖端的尖度未发生改变。
6.如权利要求1所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,第一和第二插管导向件中的每一个的表面是倾斜的,该倾斜表面各自具有形成在其中的凹口。
7.如权利要求6所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,当第一和第二臂处于闭合位置时,所述凹口接靠着插管。
8.如权利要求1所述的筒夹机构,其特征在于,插管导向件被偏压向闭合位置。
9.一种制造注射器的方法,包括以下步骤:
将具有斜切尖端的插管放置在型芯元件的凹入尖端上;
将模具布置在型芯元件上,该模具具有至少部分地围绕插管的至少一部分的锥形接收口;
使具有至少两个插管导向件的筒夹机构插入穿过模具并在插管的斜切尖端上方插入,筒夹机构的梢端由锥形接收口引导以使筒夹机构移动到闭合位置,其中在该位置,插管导向件夹紧插管的一部分,以将插管保持成大体上与筒夹机构的纵向轴线以及与型芯元件的纵向轴线相对准;
向模具内注入聚合物材料;
使聚合物材料冷却,直至其在插管的至少近端上基本上固化;
从模具上拆除筒夹机构,以使得插管导向件释放插管;
拆除模具;以及
从型芯元件上拆除注射器和所连的插管。
