通过应用烘漆与通过在高的温度下烘漆可以产生局部限制不均匀的应力状态。如果烘漆的膨胀系数与该玻璃板非常不同,则可发现其差大于30%被证实是有利的,这样在玻璃/漆整个冷却期间产生足够高的应力不均匀性,于是能达到所希望的效果。这种产生应力梯度的方法是优选的,因为其生产复杂性相对低些。此外,交通工具层状玻璃板常常配置用烘漆制成的印刷框架,结果是在随后的操作中可以应用烘漆以达到应力梯度,还可以应用烘漆以形成印刷框架,然后可以一起进行烘烤。
但是,将玻璃板局部加热高于其转变温度,然后再快速冷却,这样也可以产生局部限制的应力梯度。这种方法广泛用作热淬火,虽然在已知的方法中,均匀地加热与骤冷整个玻璃板。例如,采用激光或气体火焰可以达到局部加热。
为了保证在玻璃板破裂后,破裂的玻璃板不穿过中间层,即保证层压材料仍封闭开口,这些低强度区可以相互错位而安排成格栅形状。因此,避免玻璃板沿伸长线破裂,这样破裂会形成锐边,还会穿透中间层。单个低强度区之间的距离与该区大小可以是0.1-200mm,这依赖于其性质和它们配置形状。
如果在层状玻璃板的边缘区域安排这些低强度区,源于应力梯度的产生,或有或没有内应力的区域的光学特性差异而可能产生的光学不利效果是几乎不可察觉的,因为它们在主观察区域之外。如果需要,可以毫不费力地用汽车玻璃窗常常有的框架样瓷漆覆盖在边缘区域的低强度区。

8、根据上述权利要求中任一权利要求所述的层状玻璃板,其特征在于所述其它玻璃板也由玻璃构成。
9、根据权利要求8所述的层状玻璃板,其特征在于在至少一块其它玻璃板中也引入低强度区。
10、根据上述权利要求中任一权利要求所述的层状玻璃板,其特征在于将这些单个玻璃板彼此接合起来的中间层是热塑性粘合薄膜。
11、根据上述权利要求中任一权利要求所述的层状玻璃板,其特征在于在与层状玻璃板受到物体冲击的面相反的面上安排这些低强度区。
12、根据上述权利要求中任一权利要求所述的层状玻璃板作为交通工具的风挡玻璃或顶部玻璃板的应用。
