Shaped watch movement for convicts and other jewelry. The object of the invention is a shaped watch movement for rings and other jewelry, in which the movable and other parts are arranged so that the dimensions of the movement, in length and in width, are as small as practically possible, to the detriment of the height of the movement. Such a movement is therefore advantageously suitable for ring watches or other small watch parts: shaped timepieces used in jewelry,. Because, thanks to a judicious distribution of the components, it is possible to donate to the latter. of relatively large dimensions to ensure good movement.
For this purpose, the movement cage comprises two plates super posed and assembled with each other, one of these plates, with bridges fixed there, against that of its faces opposite to that against which is fixed the other plate, supporting the finishing- and the escapement, while the other plate receives the barrel and supports the dial, the outer edge of this plate being bevelled so that the front face '(side of the dial) of movement is smaller than the posterior surface. In the attached drawing is shown, by way of example,
an oval movement for ring watches.
Fig. 1 is a view from the rear side, the cock and the escapement-bridge being only partially shown, so that part of the winding and time-setting mechanism is visible; Fig. 2 is a view thereof - from the front side, the dial not being shown; Fig. 3 shows the movement in profile; Fig, 4 shows the front plate, seen from the side opposite. To that of fig. 2.
To facilitate understanding -du: sin, certain-.devices such as, for example, the escapement with the balance and the locking of the barrel ratchet, are not shown.
The movement cage comprises the plate I and, assembled with the latter, the cock 2, the escape bridge 3 and the finishing bridge 4. On the plate 1 is superimposed and fixed by screws 6, the front plate 5 having at its outer edge a bevel 7. The front face of the movement, on which the dial 8 rests, is therefore smaller due to the opposite or rear face.
The plate carries the three usual mobiles of the finis sage, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, each mobile comprising a wheel and a pinion; it also carries the winding stem 15, the winding pinion 16, the sliding pinion 17 comprising a reference 18 for setting the time, as well as the other members of the pull-tab mechanism making it possible to move the sliding pinion on the winding stem, by means of the latter. The pinion 14 of grand'moyenne meshes with the teeth of the barrel 19, the latter being housed in a recess of the plate 5. One of the pivots of the barrel rotates in plate 1 and the other in plate 5.
The wheel 20 is fitted to a square 21 of the barrel shaft, la. mass and the .d'enclique spring of the ratchet are arranged on the plate 5, but these members are not shown in the drawing. The axis 22 @ of the pinion 14 crosses the plate 5 and carries, adjusted to friction gra-3 (skylight) a roadway 23.
The latter controls the minute and hour hands, via the mid nuterie gear 24 and its pinion 25, the. chaus sée 26 and. of the barrel wheel 27. The winding pinion 16 meshes with a reference 28, which is in meshing relation with the wheel 20, through a reference 29. Tees references 28, 29 are mounted on the additional plate .5; the first of these see is formed by a toothed crown .ajus té e on an annular rosillon 30 integral with the plate 5.
Above this rosillon is provided, mounted on a pin 31 fixed in the plate 5. a pinion 32 which meshes with a reference 33 meshing in turn with the roadway 26. This reference is held by two screws within reach 34. When the winding rod 15 is rotated, the latter being pushed fully, the barrel spring is wound up, because the winding pin 1.6 controls the barrel ratchet 20, by means of the references 28 ci- 29.
The reference 18 and the pinion 32 are arranged so that the first meshes with the second when the sliding pinion 17 is moved on the winding stem 15 by a traction exerted on the latter. These two mobiles 18 and 3? can in fact come into engagement with each other, through the annular rosillon 30. Consequently, the return 18 is in a gear relation with the timer of the movement, which makes it possible to set the time. hands, by rotation of the winding stem 15. If the stem 15 is pushed back again, the sliding pinion 17 returns to its position corresponding to winding, so that the return 18 and the pinion 32 disengage.
This superposition of the organs naturally increases the. height of the movement, but on the other hand makes it possible to achieve the desired goal, that is to say to construct a movement whose length and width dimensions are extremely small while comprising relatively large mobiles.
The movement could have a: other form than that represented in the drawing; it could, for example, be rectangular.
