Le fonctionnement du mécanisme décrit est le suivant: Les organes étant à 1a position de remon tage, position qui est la position normale et dans laquelle la couronne dentée 12a du manchon est en prise avec la roue dentée 19, on remontera le mouvement d'horlogerie eu tournant la lunette 8 autour de l'axe du mou vement dans un sens donné, de gauche à droite dans le cas présent;
Winding and time-setting mechanism for watch movements. The object of this additional patent is a mechanism for winding and setting the time of watch movements by means of the bezel, of the type of that of the main patent, and of which an embodiment is shown, shown matically and by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
The dial being assumed to be horizontal, FIG. 1 is a vertical section of this embodiment of the mechanism along line C-D of FIG. 2, the parts being in the time-setting position; fig. 2 is a horizontal section along the line A-B of FIG. 1, seen from below; fig. 3 is a vertical section along the line E I \ from there fig. 2, in which the members occupy the winding position; fig. 4 shows a detail.
In this embodiment, the winding and time-setting mechanism and the clockwork movement to which it is applied are carried by two plates 1 and 2, the lower one of which is fixed to the center of the bottom of the case. cylindrical box 7 by a plug 3a, while the top plate 2 carries the ca dran 10 (fig. 1 and 3). A cylindrical sleeve 11, coaxial with the box 7 and provided with a bottom 11a, is arranged between the box 7 and all of the plates 1, 2. The bezel 8, carrying the crystal 9 is fixed to the sleeve 11 and makes it possible to moving this sleeve along the axis of the clockwork movement and around this axis.
The bottom 11a of the sleeve 11 carries at its center a toothed ring 12a formed by a wheel secured to said bottom and slidably engaged on the central bung 3a.
The upper plate 2 has housings 33; in each of which is housed a ball 32 projecting partéllement outside the housing under the action of a spring 34. These balls can be housed in two circular grooves 35 formed, inside a rim ilb of the sleeve 11, in the 'wall thickness thereof.
The movement of the sleeve 11 along the axis of the clockwork movement is thus controlled by the balls 32 which, under the action of the springs 34, come to be housed in one or the other of the two grooves 35, grooves and balls thus forming stop notches, to determine two fixed axial positions of the sleeve 11 and of its central toothed ring 12a.
The winding members (fig. 2, 3 and 4) comprise a toothed wheel 20 forced to rotate with the shaft 21 extending the bung to which is fixed one end of the barrel spring, a toothed wheel 19 meshing with the wheel 20 being arranged so that, in one of the axial positions of the sleeve 11, the ring gear 12a thereof is brought into engagement with the wheel 19.
The time-setting members (fig. 1) carry a toothed wheel 22 mounted on the axis 23 controlling the timer and arranged so that, in the other axial position of the sleeve 11, the toothed ring 1.2 a thereof is brought into engagement with the wheel 22.
The operation of the mechanism described is as follows: The members being in the winding position, a position which is the normal position and in which the toothed ring 12a of the sleeve is in engagement with the toothed wheel 19, the clockwork movement will be wound up. had rotating the telescope 8 around the axis of the movement in a given direction, from left to right in the present case;
the bezel rotates with the sleeve 11 and the toothed ring 12a which, through the wheel 19, drives the parts to re-mount the barrel spring fixed to the shaft 21 .. A wolf tooth clutch 16 </ B > (fig. 4) allows, by yielding along its axis under the action of the inclined planes of the wolf teeth and against a spring 17, the rear rotational movement of the. telescope 8 in the well-known manner.
For setting the time, the net read 8 is pulled forward in the direction of the axis of the clockwork movement, which has the effect of moving the sleeve 11 with the toothed crown 12a in the same direction, until that the balls 32, pushed back into their housings against their springs 34 by the rib separating the two circular grooves 35, do not feel cl-'arrêt by coming to be housed in the lower groove 35.
By this movement, the toothed ring 12a of the sleeve 11 leaves the winding wheel 19 to come into engagement with the time-setting wheel 22, as shown in FIG. 1, and it is possible without further ado set the hands to the hour by turning, in the desired direction, the bezel 8 which, by driving the toothed ring 12a, will actuate the needles by means of the wheel 22 and of the timer shown in fig. 1.
If, by bringing the toothed ring 12a from the winding position to that for setting the time, the teeth of the toothed ring 12a do not correspond with the entredents of the wheel 22, the latter will be erased. axis, against a leaf spring 24 which will immediately bring it back to its normal position meshing with the toothed ring 12a as soon as, by rotating the mechanism by actuating the bezel, the wheel entredents are brought back 22 opposite the teeth of the ring gear 12a. This results in a flexible engagement of the latter so that it takes place without risk of breakage and without shocks.
Once the time has been set, the bezel and sleeve will be brought back to the winding position by pushing them back, which has the effect of releasing the crown tooth 12a from the time-setting wheel 22 for the time setting. re-engage with the winding wheel 19.
If, in this operation, the teeth of the crown 12a do not correspond with the entredents of the wheel 19, the latter may, be erased: - eer along its axis against a leaf spring 18 which will bring it all back to. normal position as soon as, by a new winding, the entredents of the wheel 19 will be brought to correspond with the teeth of the toothed ring 12a. The engagement of this one, flexible as before, is carried out here also without risk of breakage and without shocks_
