Self-winding watch. The present invention a. for object a watch with automatic winding.
This watch is characterized by two barrel ratchets, one actuated by the hand winder, the other by the automatic winder, at least one of these ratchets being mounted idle on the barrel shaft and bearing two satellites constantly in engagement with a central mobile fixed on the barrel shaft, one of these satellites- pivoting freely in the idler ratchet,
while the other pivots in a groove allowing it to move around the central mobile and to engage with the first satellite or to disengage from it according to the respective directions of rotation of the ratchet and of the central mobile., and by means for maintaining the satellites in the axial direction against the ratchet. who them. door, the whole in such a way that, when the satellites are in engagement with each other, they form a block with their ratchet. and the central mobile and. that, when they are not engaged, they do not influence their ratchet or the central mobile.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object. of the invention. Only what is necessary for an understanding of the invention has been shown.
Fig. 1 is a plan-track of this embodiment. Fig. 2 is. a cut following the. line II-II of fig. 1.
On the barrel shaft 1 are wedged gears 2 and. 3 by means of a screw 4. A washer 5, of which. the role will be explained later, is pinched between gears 2 and 3.
A ratchet 6, actuated by the automatic winder (not shown), is mounted idle on a bearing 7 of the pinion 2. Likewise, a ratchet 8, actuated by the hand winder (not shown), is mounted idle on a scope 9 pinion 3. The ratchet 6 carries two planet wheels 10, 11 constantly meshing with the central pinion 2. The planet gear 10 pivots freely in a circular hole in the ratchet 6, while the satellite 11 pivots in a groove 12 in an arc of a circle. allowing movement around the central pinion 2.
Similarly, the ratchet 8 carries two satellites 13, 14 constantly meshing with the central pinion 3, the satellite 13 pivoting freely in the ratchet 8 and the satellite 14 pivoting in a groove 15. The washer 5 is used to hold the satellites 10 , 11 and 13, 14 in the axial direction against their respective ratchet.
The operation of the device described is as follows: Let us suppose that the watch is wound automatically. It is therefore the rocket 6 which must drive the barrel shaft in rotation. The pinion 2, forming one unit with this shaft 1, offers the resistance of the mainspring to winding in the direction indicated by the arrow. In the position shown in the drawing, the two satellites 10 and 11 are. engaging the uui with the other.
If this was not the case, the ratchet 6, while turning. clockwise (fig. 1), would drive the satellite 10, while the satellite 11, by inertia and / or slightly braked by the washer 5, would remain practically stationary, so that there would be relative displacement between the satellite 1.1 and. the groove 12, until the moment. where the two satellites 10 and 11 would engage.
As these satellites both roll on the central pinion 2 and mesh. now between them, there is a blockage such that they are unit with the ratchet 6 and the central pinion 2; the latter is doue driven in rotation and grinds the barrel spring.
While turning, the barrel shaft 1 drives the pinion 3, which, under the action of a tangential force, moves the satellite 14 in the groove 15 of the ratchet 8; satellite 14 arrives. thus in the position shown in FIG. 1, so that the ratchet 8 remains stationary due to the resistance offered by the hand winding mechanism. Satellite 14 is now free from satellite 13 with which it was blocked. Thus, the ratchet 8 is disengaged and it does not oblige the entire hand winding mechanism to be driven by the automatic winding mechanism.
The operation. will be similar in the opposite case, that is to say that if the winding is done by the hand mechanism, the automatic mechanism will be disengaged.
According to a variant (not shown), the pinions 2 and 3 could have come as a single piece, the washer 5 then being driven out on this pinion. Ratchets 6 and 8 could have a thick crown, limiting the height of the play between them; this object could also be achieved by providing the ron delle 5 with a thick outer crown.
Finally, the teeth of the pigeons 2, 3, 10, 11, 13 and 14 could be replaced by plastic tires, for example synthetic rubber.
The device described and shown makes it possible to put the entire hand-winding mechanism out of service at the moment when the automatic winding begins to operate and, conversely, to avoid actuating the members of the automatic mechanism during the hand-winding.
One could also provide a construction in which only one of the two ratchets 6, 8 would be mounted idle on the barrel shaft and bear. the two satellites, the other ratchet being wedged on the barrel shaft 1. For example, if the. Con: stniction of the automatic winding mechanism does not require disengagement during hand winding, the disengaging device will be removed, leaving only that for hand winding.
Conversely, we can wedge the ratchet 8 on the shaft 1 and remove the satellites 13, 14, the ratchet 6 being. rode crazy and. bearing, the satellites 10, 11; in this case, the automatic mechanism alone will be disengaged.
The device described. allows a very good yield to be obtained. of the automatic winding mechanism, because it absorbs forces as low as possible.
