'fig.
La moyeu î -i <B>(le</B> la lame coripe-fil auxi liaire porte une seconde cheville, 89 (fig. S. 9. if et. iii, qui s'en élève et, dont. l'extrémité supérieure est disposée sur le chemin d'un plateau-came 90 (fig. 1, ", 7, 8, 9 et. il;
(fig.
un bras repose sur l'un des bords du bras 151 du levier-cliquet. L'extrL- mité inférieure du bras 180 du levier-cliquet est disposée pour reposer sur une cheville;

The main shaft 1i is journaled in the base i and carries the cylinder-cam 12 (fig. 1 and 3) in the groove <I> i3 </I> of which is. engaged the roller 14 carried by a lever 15, which oscillates on a fixed pivot and. is connected, by a connecting rod 16, with the clutch lever 17 actuating the clutch claws 18 which are. provided with jaws embracing the flange 19 of the entrained wheel, 20 (fig. 1, 3 and 47.
In the upper face of the drag wheel are. the usual drive cam groove 21 and. the groove \ ??, displacement. lateral, in the first of which is engaged the roller 23 of the oscillating lever 24, which is mounted on a fixed pivot, and from which rises the roller 25 (.fi-. 4ï coaxial with the roller 23 and entering the transverse slot 26 of the sliding frame 27, mo bile in the base rails.
In transverse guides of the sliding frame 27, the slide <B> 28, </B> can move on the underside of which the block? 9, in which is. formed a longitudinal slide in which is engaged the roller 30, mounted at one end of the oscillating lever 31 which pivots on a fixed point, between its ends, and is provided, at its end op posed, with the roller 32 penetrating. In the cam groove 22, for lateral displacement.
On the slider 28 are mounted .. by means of pivots 33 (fig. 2), the key clamping plates 34 (fig. 1, 2 and 7) on which are formed serrated parts, 35, which constitute the lower jaws, engagement of the work, the work carrier. to which are opposite the serrated undersides 36 (Fig. 10 to 12) of the clamping feet 37 which constitute the engagement jaws. above.
The clamping wrench feet 37 are articulated, in a well known manner, to the anterior ends of the spring arm <B> 28 </B> (fig. 1, 2 and 7) pivoting at their opposite ends, by means of 'axis 39 (fig. 1. and 7), on the bearing blocks 40 mounted on the respective clamping plates 311.
In suitable spans 40 blocks are. my tees, in the extension. one key the other, the oscillating shafts 41 (fig. 2) each of which carries a cam acting, on the corresponding 3S clamping key arm, in antagonism to the action of the key spring raising '? 'fig. 1 and 7).
The oscillating shafts 41 are connected :: together, key way. move in unison, by means of vertical arms. f3 and Art (fig. 1, 2 and <B> 7), </B> one of which is seen from a lateral ankle, 43 ', embraced by a fork 44' on the other.
The clamping foot 37 (fig. 1, 2, 8 and 9 at 1'2i closest to the rear of the machine is provided, at its external end, with an extension 45 to support the cutting blade. wire and wire clamp, as well as the parts which are immediately connected thereto, the extension or support in question having, in its underside, a recess 45 ', open at the lower part and above which is a second recess, 45 ". Extension 45 is composed of spaced upper and lower plates which are rigidly held together by screws 46 and 47; these plates are, held at a fixed spacing from each other. clamping and cutting, using the threaded spacer <B> 48. </B>
In a bearing 49 (fig. 11 and 12) rising (read extension 45 of the clamping foot, rotates an oscillating axis, 50 (fig. 2, 8, 11 and 14), at the lower end of which are as subject, between the head of the axial clamping screw 51 and the washer 52, the larger, hub-forming parts of the overlapping blade sections 53 and 54 which constitute a compound thread clamp and thread cutter blade and are held. in a fixed position, one relative to the other, by means of the pin 55 (fig. 14).
The outer part of the active edge of the clamping blade 53 has a part 53 ', inclined to form an angle in order to guide the wire at the clamping point and on the opposite edge of this blade is formed a notch 53 "(fig. 14 and. 14a) to catch the end of the wire as it disengages from the relatively, stationary clamping jaw, so as to ensure its removal from the latter during the retraction of the wire clamp and wire trimmer elements. edge of the main thread trimming element 54 has, below the relevant angle of the thread gripper element,
a concave part 54 'to ensure that the wire will be cut at the point. wanted in the length of the blade.
The composite blade 53, 5'1 est. capable <B> (the </B> move in the recess 115 "(fig. 12) chi support 45 and substantially fill this recess, the upper element 53 firstly cooperating, elastically, with the wall upper part of the space 45 "to clamp the wire, while the lower element 54, whose active, concave lower edge is sharpened, co-operates substantially with the abrupt shoulder offered by the free lower edge of the space 45 'to cut the pinched wire.
On the upper end of the oscillating axis 50 is secured the hub 56, of the crank arm 5i (fig. 1.2, 7, 8, 11 and 12) connected, by means (the screw 58, with the flattened anterior part 59, of a bent sliding rod 60 (fig. 1, 2, 7 and 8), the rear part of which slides into the ear 61 extending laterally (you block range 40. On the rod 60 is secured by a collar 62, provided with a lateral pin 63 to which is connected one (the ends of a spring. 64, the opposite end of which is secured to the perforated tab 65 of the ear 61.
The spring 64 normally pulls the rod back to apply a collar 66, carried by it. on a washer 67 interposed between 61 and 66 so as to hold elastically clans its advanced position, or of operation. the main thread cutter and clamp blade 53, 54.
On the rod 60 is, secured, between the collars 62 and. 66. by means of the screw 68, a block 69 (fig. 7, i and 8) bearing. a pebble 70 that is. embraced by a fork it of the lower arm of an oscillating lever 72 pivots, between its ends, on the oscillating shaft 41 and exhibiting, at.
its upper end, the lateral tooth 73 (fig. i, 7, 8 and 9), the top of which is inclined from bottom to top and back to front, at an acute angle, with its adjacent face extending towards the lever pivot.
Movement. of the lever i2 on its pivot., in antagonism to the tension of the spring 64, obviously produces the movement. at the end <I> of </I> the rod 60 and the recoil, which is the consequence thereof, of the thread cutting elements and. main thread clamp M, 54, in preparation for their action on the thread (the needle at the end of a sewing operation.
On the screw 46 (fig. S and. 10) journals., Between the constituent plates of the extension. l5 of the clamping foot, the hub 'i4 key the auxiliary thread cutter 75 (fig. 8, 10 and 1.5) which is. offset from top to bottom, from this hub, so as to move in a path located inside the lower recess 45 'cludit extension.
The blade 75 has, near its outer end, a concave portion 75 'which is sharpened to form a cutting edge in order to cut the initial end <B> said </B> needle thread running from the work to the thread clamp device. From the hub 74 turns. angularly relative to the blade Î5, a lateral arm 76 on which a shoulder 77 is formed.
The shoulder -77 is arranged to be secured by the hooked end 78, of a pawl 79 (fig. 1, \ ?, 8, 9, 10 and. 13) constituting one of the members of a lever with several arms including the hub M0, journals on the screw 47 between the constituent plates of the extension 45 of the clamping foot.
The lever in question is provided, on the opposite side of said hub, with a curved cleat 81, between which and the hub is another lateral arm, 82, in the edge furthest from the arm S1 of which is formed. a groove 83. Around a screw 84, screwed in the upper plate 15, is wound the body 85! Fig. S, he and 1.?:
a spring, one of whose arms,> 6, rests inside the groove <B> 83 </B> of the lever arm 82, while its other arm, S7, bears on a pin 88 (fig. 8, 9, 11 and 73i extending from hub 74 of the auxiliary thread trimmer wool '75.
By means of this spring, the auxiliary wire corrpe element 75 is normally returned to its wire engagement position and. the pawl <B> 79 </B> is elastically pressed (-ii gripped with the arm 76, to retain the auxiliary thread trimming element in its withdrawn position. as shown it represents the thread. 8 .
The hub î -i <B> (the </B> the auxiliary coripe-fil blade carries a second peg, 89 (fig. S. 9. if and. Iii, which rises from it and, of which. The. upper end is disposed in the path of a cam plate 90 (fig. 1, ", 7, 8, 9 and. il;
whose offset tail @@ e Cie bottom up, 91, is secured, j @ tfiP in a formed transverse seat, for the. receive, in the top of the crank 57, by means of the fixing screw 92.
When the axis 50 oscillates to remove the main thread cutter and thread gripper elements, the tuck plate 90 comes into contact with the town plug 89 and acts, through the latter, to bring the cutting blade auxiliary thread 75 in its withdrawn position, in which it is held by the automatic engagement of the pawl 79 with the arm '76, as shown in FIGS. 2 and S.
The arm 38 (fi-. 1, 8 and 9) which carries the clamping foot having. the extension 4), is provided with a pierced carrying ear, <B> 93, </B> in which is engaged the anterior part of the bent trigger rod, 94, the anterior end of which is. arranged in line with the stop lever arm <B> 81. </B> The flattened rear end of this release rod is.
articulated, in 95 (fi-. <B> 8 </B> and <B> 9), </B> with the upper arm 96 of an angled lever pivoting in 97 on the internal face called the bearing block! 0 and having an arm <B> 98, </B> extending rearwardly, in the lower edge of which there is a notch 99 with forming edge. rearwardly inclined cam, 100, the arm 6 being pushed back, to remove the trigger lever 94, by means of a spring 107. supported by the block 40.
The notched end of the elbow lever key arm 98 normally rests on an oscillating plate, 102 (fig. '7, 8, 9 and 36 <B>) </B>, pivoted at one end, at 103, on a block 10-i which is supported, in turn, by an element of the plinth.
Plate 10? present, on one <the edges of its upper face, the tooth in the form of a cam 105 whose rear face aclivu <B><I>105'</I> </B> is inclined (the bottom cry high and from back to front, (the same way due to the cam edge 700 of the notch 99. while its front face, 105 ", is tilted outwards in clans and backwards, like this is represented in particular in fi ,. 8 and. 16.
At the end (block 104 is. Secured. By means of screw 1.06, a spring 107 of which: a bent arm 708 bears against the stop lever 7.09 which is, normally maintained. In contact with a shoulder. B> 11.0, </B> consisting of a rebate formed in the adjacent edge of block i04,
as shown in dotted lines in FIG. 16.
At the start of a sewing operation, the cam tooth 105 is embraced by the notch 99 of the angled lever arm 98, with its active face <B> 105 '</B> slightly away from the cam edge. 100 key notch 99, as shown in fig. 8 and 9.
In the movement of the work holder and, with it, of the angled lever 96, 98, during the production of the first few stitches of a. buttonhole, the cam edge 100 meets the face 105 'of the cam tooth 105 and rises along this, so that the angled lever swings and the trigger rod 94 is brought into engagement. with the arm (lever 81, which thereby causes the lever to swing and releases the auxiliary thread cutting blade which, following the action of the spring arm 87, performs a movement to cut the thread across the path followed by the end of the thread extending from the work to the thread clamp,
which thus cuts the thread very close to the work. This movement is stopped by the meeting of the head of a stop screw iii (fig. 2, 8, 10. il and <B> 17), </B> carried by an extension. hub <B> 74, </B> with the upper plate of the extension negate 45 of the clamping foot.
The arm 98, having passed over the cam tooth 105, continues to move until the end of its forward stroke and then performs its retrograde movement with the work holder. The moment its end meets the laterally inclined face, 105 ", of the cam tooth, it pushes the latter aside, in opposition to the action of its spring. <B> 108, </B> like this is shown in Fig. 16, and, when it returns to its initial position, it allows the cam tooth to return to its position shown in solid lines (Fig. 16) ready for action (the next trigger.
The stitch forming mechanism of the machine is of essentially known construction, as is the means employed to rotate it in the stitching of the end needle of the buttonhole. The means employed to rotate the sewing mechanism include the movable end sliding bars, 112 and 113 (fig. 1, <B> 2 </B> and 7), working in suitable spans.
mounted on the bali, above and below (you carry the work, and connected so as to move in unison by means of the piece <I> bed. </I> Although these sliding bars drift their movements at the end of a connection with the cam wheel 20, provided on its upper face with drive control cam grooves., these movements are, of course, carried out independently (the particular drive movement determined by said cam grooves and printed on the movable work holder.
On the upper sliding bar 112 is fixed the collar 115 provided with the lug extending laterally. and back to front, 116, which carries the pivot screw <B>: 11.7. </B>
On the pivot screw. 117 pivots, between its ends, a lever on which is formed the arched pawl, <B> 118, </B> extending forward and having the hooked anterior end 119 providing a shoulder to engage with the upper end of the oscillating lever 72 and which is provided with an arm 120, extending towards the rear, notched at the end of its upper side to receive the stop screw 121 screwed into the collar 115 , screw against which it is normally held by means of a spring 122, one of the arms of which rests on the pawl 11.8 and the other on the lug 116. From the lever arm 120 rises the contact pin 123 which is screwed into a threaded hole in this arm and is secured in the desired adjustment position by means of the locking nut 124.
The disengagement of this machine is. of well-known construction and is not described here.
On an ear 161. (fig. 1 and 5), extending from the cover plate 162 of the tubular arm 3, is mounted a tension knob 163 provided with tension discs 1.64, between one of which and the The nut 165 is located in the spring 166 which is controlled in its operation by means of the pusher pin 167, releasable. by axial movement, in a well known manner.
The end ((this pin 167 7 is, arranged to be engaged by the active, inclined face, cl-c the head 968 of the oscillating tension release lever, 169, which is mounted, between its ends , on the pivot screw 1i0 and including.
the arm extending towards the rear is articulated, in 1i1, with the bar <B> 172 </B> provided, at its lower end, with the lateral lip <B> 173 </B> in there is a slot 174 which embraces the end of screw 175, screwed into the lower part of upright 2. The bar <B> 1.72 </B> is. normally. pulled from top to bottom at the hub of a 1'76 spring, one end of which is hooked into an opening <B> 177 </B> of the bar in question, while its other end is secured to a button 1 .'78 planned on upright 2.
On the lower, larger part of the bar 1'72 pivots, at 179, a multi-arm ratchet lever having an arm 180, an arm 181, extending. from bottom to top and an arm i82, extending rearwardly, the latter arm normally resting on the head of a stop screw 183. screwed into bar 172. under the action of the spring. 184 that is. carried by the bar 172 and including.
an arm rests on one of the edges of the arm 151 of the ratchet lever. The lower end of the ratchet lever arm 180 is arranged to rest on a peg;
<B> 185, </B> supported by the front arm of the swinging lever i2r 186 pivoting., Between its ends, in 187, on an extension 142 of the release lever 138 (fig. I, 2, 3, and 6 ) and having a rearwardly extending arm connected by a connecting rod 189 ë1. a screw 190, to a block 139 carried by the release lever 138.
When block 739 is in its home position, or disengaged position, bar 1'72 is. held in its upper position to hold the tension release lever 169, in the tension release position, in which the tension discs 164 are relieved of spring pressure. voltage 166.
The rocking movement of the release lever 138, to start the sewing and feed mechanisms, removes the peg 185 from under the <B> 180 </B> arm of the ratchet lever and therefore removes the holder . for bar 172 which is forced to cle @ cerrdre, under the actic @ rr (the sound comes out 1'M,
to interrupt the active engagement of the ankle by releasing tension 167 by the head of the rocking lever 169, so that the tension spring 166 is forced to resume its normal action on the tension discs 16-f. The c1f_- triggering, of the disengaging mechanism and the return, which is the consequence,
from the release lever 1.38 to the disengaged position, produces the fluid movement of the swing lever 186 backwards and, consequently, the engagement of the pin 185 with the front edge of the arm 180 of the click lever , csiii is found by it even forced to oscillate in antagonism to. the action of its spring 18t.
As the block 139 rises, the lever 186 swings to bring the peg under the underside of the ratchet arm 15 (i of the ratchet lever which comes to its normal position to wander with it in the subsU descent. 'Continue from block 139 to the final stop (the main shaft. The lifting of the bar 1'72 under the action of movement.
<B> (reads </B> swing lever 186, determines the control of swing lever <B> 169, </B> to release tension, to open tension again.
As he is. easy to understand, it is desirable that the action of the tension on the needle thread be resumed beforehand. at the beginning of the first cycle of formation of the points of a group. When disengaging the bar (releasing tension 172 from its lifting element 1N6. Prior to the initial movement of the main shaft, the tension is closed on the wire at the same instant.
The tension release rocking lever 1.69 carries a threaded pin 191 (fig. 1 and 5), which connects it with the upper end of the rod (the angled release <B> 192, </B>, presenting , between its ends, an enlargement provided with the slot 193 which embraces the rod of the guide screw 194 and provided, at its lower end, with the cam-shaped head 1.95, offset towards the rear,
in the front edge of which is formed the bevel 196 and which is capable of engaging with the end of the contact pin 123 carried by the stop lever arm -120.
When the clutch release lever <B> 138 </B> moves to start the color mechanism, the tension release rocker lever, 169 (fig. 1 and 5), rocks as explained above. and the trigger bar. 19'N is raised to the position shown in solid lines, as can be seen in part in fig. 7.
In the initial movement of the carrier forward, the lever 12 is brought into engagement with the shoulder. chi ratchet <B> 118 </B> and, therefore, receives a partial rocking movement, most of it (the stroke being made in the movement of the sliding bar 112 backwards, to turn the color mechanism (milk the sewing of the # eyelet of the buttonhole. The rocking lever 72 is retained substantially in this position throughout the remainder of the operation (the sewing, the thread cutting elements having been , withdrawn.
During the final action (readout mechanism, at the end (the one sewing operation, the tension is opened, as described above, and, at the same time, the trip bar 192 is moved up. down and brought into engagement with the peg (the contact <B> 123 </B> and, the lever 118, 120 rocking, as shown in dotted lines in fig. 7, to release lever 7 \ v allowing thereby the control of the main thread clamp and thread cutter blade, under the action of its control spring 64, to pinch and cut the thread going to the eye (the needle at the last point made.
The actuation of the auxiliary thread trimmer is effected in the initial movement of the holder during the next buttonhole production cycle, as described above.
From an ear 197 (fig. 1 and. 5) provided on the cover plate 162, extends laterally and from bottom to top a button 198 carrying the screw 199, on which the rear end pivots < B> (him </B> pull lever 200 which has, near its pivot, a slot 201 embracing the head of the screw <B> 191 </B> provided on the oscillating tension release lever, from which the lever 200 derives its active movements.
The lever 200 has, at its free end, a lateral extension, 202, movable in iraver-s of the wire strand going from the device (the tension at the top of the hollow needle holder, and its descent, at the end of an operation thread pulls the loose thread through the tensioner, for the initial stitch forming cycle of an operation (the next buttonhole seam.
As shown in the drawing, the lower plate @ 5 (fig. 1, 11 and: the 1,) of the clamping foot 3 '., Carrying the thread cutter, is extended laterally beyond the upper plate, its edge presenting a rib (the guard 2031, extending from one of the articulation ears of the foot 3'i with the arm (the tightening 38, laterally and forward,
as shown in particular in FIG. 8. On the anterior face (you block. Of reach 0 for the other clamping arm 38, is secured an elbow tube 2201 having. An anterior end contracted to form a nozzle 205. disposed near the extension 45 (the foot of clamping and directed towards the field of action of the thread trimming elements, as shown and) particular to Fig. 2.
The opposite end of the tube 204 is re linked, by the flexible tube 206, with a stud provided at the rear end of the cylinder of an air pump 207, supported by a console 208 of which. a sole \? 09 can. be seated on the underside (the machine's support table.
In the cylinder 207 (fig. 2) works a piston 210, the rod 211 of which is provided (the side arm 212, to which is. Re linked one of the ends (the one connecting rod 213 as subject, by its at the other end, to a crank knob 214 provided on a grooved pulley 215, which is mounted on a shaft 216 extending laterally from the console 208.
The pulley 215 is placed below the pulley 6 and in contact with the belt 7 coming from the key motive force source from which it derives its key rotation movement, in order to im primer reciprocating movements of the piston by means of keys connections described.
The operation of the piston 210 inside the cylinder. 207 produces alternating aspirations and discharges of air through the tube 2C_, thereby producing air puffs on and around the feet and ensuring tightening. the key ejection of any material released in the vicinity of the key sewing elements and through the chute or passage formed by the lower extension plate. _5 and the key rib keeps 203.
In the operation of the machine, the clutch device of the buttonhole control shaft is. first activated to make this tree turn only one time. in order to cut the slit in the nière button, key close and remove the holder and. to actuate the disengaging mechanism, to bring into action the key point and drive forming mechanisms. In the initial stroke of the work holder, the auxiliary thread cutter device is brought into action for cutting. near the work, the end (the initial thread extending from the work to the thread clamp.
The thread trimmer blade and the main thread clamp and the auxiliary thread trimmer wool are then returned to their active positions to their withdrawn positions by the movement of the displacement lever 72, completed at the end of the operation. eyelet stitching.
The auxiliary thread trimmer is kept pulled back by the stop lever arm 79 and the main thread trimmer and clamp blade is hand held withdrawn by the continued engagement of the pawl. 118 with lever 72.
When controlling the release mechanism to stop the point and drive formatting mechanisms, the tension is released, the pull lever is actuated and the stop lever 1.18, 120 is withdrawn to allow the main wire clamp and wire cutter elements to act on the wire in the order shown.
Although the thread gripper element and the main thread trimmer are constructed in separate ways to facilitate their manufacture and to keep them in good working order, it is obvious that the thread gripper and the thread trimmer could. be established in one piece.
