La figure 4 est une vue en élévation de côté de la seconde forme d'exécution comprenant un dispositif de chauffage additionnel électrique et à mazout;
la figure 5 en est une vue partielle en élévation;

Until now, the heat sources used in central heating installations have been exclusively constituted by oil or coal burners.
The idea of recovering waste heat in a chimney for use as a primary or secondary heat source in a central heating installation has apparently never been used.
The present invention, which aims to fill this gap, relates to a hearth boiler intended to supply hot water to a central heating installation.
This boiler is characterized by the fact that it is constituted by at least two heat recovery elements intended to be placed respectively horizontally on the ground and vertically in the bottom of the hearth of a chimney and to be traversed by water. circulating in the circuit supplying the radiators of the central heating installation.
The accompanying drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, two embodiments and variants of the subject of the invention.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the first embodiment:
FIG. 2 is a front elevational view of the vertical recuperator.
FIG. 3 is a view similar to FIG. 2 of a variant of the vertical recuperator.
Figure 4 is a side elevational view of the second embodiment including an additional electric and oil-fired heater;
FIG. 5 is a partial elevational view thereof;
Figure 6 is a sectional view of an element of the electric heater; FIG. 7 is a sectional view of a variant of this element; Figure 8 is a perspective view of the oil-fired heater.
Figures 9, 10 and 11 are side elevational views of three variants of the second embodiment.
The hearth boiler shown in Figures 1 and 2 comprises three heat recovery elements, respectively two receptacles 1 and 2, in the form of rectangular flat boxes and a coil 5 intended to be placed in the hearth of a fireplace and connected. to the hot water circuit of a central heating installation.
The vertical collector 1 comprises fins 3 and 4. The horizontal collector 2 comprises a built-in ashtray 7, an air inlet 8, two ribs 9 for placing logs and holes 10 in which decorative elements can be placed.
The coil 5, which is mounted on the upper face of the vertical recuperator 1, is partially surrounded by a perforated casing 6. The water enters and leaves the boiler through pipes 13 and 14, it circulates between recuperators 1 and 2 and the coil 5 in conduits 5 'and 17 and can be evacuated through a drain opening 11. An aquastat 19 is mounted on the recuperator 1.
This boiler makes it possible to recover a maximum of the heat normally lost with the fumes, in particular thanks to fins 3 and 4, to the coil 5 and to the screen 6 which promote maximum heat exchange between the flame and the fumes on the one hand. and on the other hand the water circulating in the recuperators 1 and 2 and the coil 5. In the variant shown in FIG. 3, the straight fins 3 have been replaced by fins 15 in the form of concentric circular arcs.
The second embodiment, shown in Figures 4 to 6, differs from the first by the fact that the recuperators 1 and 2 each consist of a series of parallel tubes 24 and by the fact that it comprises two heating devices auxiliary, one electric, the other fuel oil used to heat the water contained in the recuperators in the absence of wood or coal fire.
The tubes 24 of the two recuperators 1 and 2 are connected by transverse tubes 20 and 23. ns are intended to be placed on the floor of the hearth by means of two crossbars 29.
The electric heating device comprises (Figures 4, 5 and 6) tubes 25 connected to tubes 24 and traversed longitudinally by electric heating bodies 22. In the variant of Figure 7, the electrical resistors 22 are placed under the tubes 25 in housing provided for this purpose.
The oil heating device comprises (Figures 4 and 8), a drawer 26 provided with a handle which is placed on the floor of the hearth below the tubes 24 between the cross members 29.
This drawer comprises an oil or gas burner 27 supplied with fuel by an inlet 28, holes 30 for the combustion air inlet and a pull tab 32 making it possible to open or close these holes more or less. This drawer 26 can be turned upside down and then constitutes an ashtray when the device is not in use.
Note, in this second embodiment, the disappearance of the coil 5 and the appearance of fins 3 and a deflector 6 inclined relative to the vertical plane of the tubes 24.
This second embodiment can therefore be used either when the fireplace is used by burning wood or charcoal therein, or in the opposite case by putting into service one or the other of the auxiliary heating devices.
We could naturally provide a thermostatic valve
placed when the water arrives in the boiler, closing the parts of the circuit corresponding to the vertical recuperator when one or other of the auxiliary devices is in service in order to avoid cooling of the water in this part of boiler in the absence of a chimney fire.
In the variant of Figure 9 there are provided auxiliary recovery tubes 21 connected to the tube 20 and fins 3 extending behind the tubes 24 slightly inclined forward.
In the variant of FIG. 10, the tubes forming the recuperators 1 and 2 are mounted on a grid 33 resting on four jacks 34 making it possible to correctly adjust the position of the recuperators. Finally, in the variant of FIG. 11, the tubes forming the recuperators 1 and 2 have at their lower part the shape of a cradle in which the logs can be placed. In addition, these tubes carry two series of fins 3 and hooks 31 making it possible to place a log directly in contact with the middle part of the tubes.
