EMI2.1
B. ss-Phenyl äthylamin in Frage.

5 Teile Natriumdibutylnaphthylsulfonat,
3 Teile Naphthalinsulfonsäure-Phenolsulfonsäuren-
Formaldehyd-Kondensat 3:2:1, 20 Teile Kaolin, 22 Teile Champagne-Kreide;
Beispiel 3
Wirkung gegen Plasmopara viticola (Bert. et Curt.) (Berl. et
DeToni) auf Reben a) Residual-präventive Wirkung
Beispiel 6 Wuchshemmung an Gräsern

R4 denotes a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical optionally substituted by methyl and / or halogen and having 1 or 2 heteroatoms, with the proviso that the phenyl ring is three or four times substituted,
if R4 is an unsubstituted or substituted only by methyl 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical with 1 or 2 heteroatoms; The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of these compounds and means and use for
Control of pests. With the exception of the compounds mentioned in the patent claim of the main patent number 590608.
The following groups are suitable as alkyl and as the alkyl part of an alkoxy group, depending on the number of carbon atoms specified: methyl, acetyl, n-propyl, iso-propyl or n-, iso-, sec- or tert-butyl. Fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine are suitable as halogen.
As a 5- to 6-membered heterocyclic radical, for. B.
the following are mentioned: furan, ihiophene, pyridine, pyrimidine, 2,3 dihydro-4H-pyran, 1,4-oxathi- (2) -yne, tetrahydrofuran, morpholine or piperidine, which may optionally be substituted by methyl and / or halogen.
Preference is given to compounds of the formula Ia in which R1 is methyl, R2 is in the ortho position to the amino group and is methyl, ethyl or chlorine, while R5 and Rg have the meaning given.
As already emphasized by emphasizing the compound N- (1'-methoxycarbonyl-ethyl) - N- (furan (2'8) - carbonyl) -2,6-dimethylaniline in main patent No. 590 608, these compounds of the formula Ia those in which R4 is 2 furanyl, one of the microbicidally preferred active ingredient groups. This also includes compounds of the formula Ia in which the 2-furanyl group is optionally substituted by a methyl or a halogen.
Within this group, compounds are preferred in which the total number of carbon atoms in the substituents R1, R2, R5 and R6 does not exceed the number 4, for example 2,6 dimethylaniline, 2,3,6-trimethylaniline, 2,3 3, 6-tetramethyl aniline derivatives. Another group of microbicidally preferred compounds of the formula Ia are those in which R4 2 denotes thienyl.
The compounds of the formula I are prepared, for example, by acylating a compound of the formula II
EMI1.5
with a carboxylic acid of the formula III
HO-CO-R4 (III) or its acid halide, acid anhydride or ester.
The compounds of the formula 1 can advantageously also be prepared in such a way that the corresponding acylanilide of the formula W
EMI1.6
with z. B. butyl-lithium, sodium hydride or else with C2Ct3 in pyridine or tetrahydrofuran is converted into the alkali metal salt, which is then mixed with the haloacetic acid ester or amide or the a-halopropionic acid ester or amide of the formula V HalXR3 (V. ) continues to be implemented.
The reactions can be carried out in the presence or absence of solvents or diluents which are inert towards the reaction components. The following are, for example, possible: Aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, xylenes, petroleum ether, halogenated hydrocarbons such as chlorobenzene, methylene chloride, ethylene chloride, chloroform; Ethers and ethereal compounds such as dialkyl ethers, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran; Nitriles such as acetonitrile; N, N-dialkylated amides such as dimethylformamide; also acetic acid, dimethyl sulfoxide and mixtures of such solvents with one another.
The reaction temperatures are between -200 ° C. and 1800 ° C., preferably between 0 and 1200 ° C. The reaction can be carried out in the presence of an acid-binding agent. Tertiary amines such as trialkylamines (e.g. triethylamine), pyridine and pyridine bases, or inorganic bases such as the oxides and hydroxides, hydrogen carbonates and carbonates of alkali and alkaline earth metals and sodium acetate are suitable as such. Dimethylformamide has a catalytic effect.
The compounds of formula I have the property, the growth and the state of health of farm animals and the growth and development of useful plants and the cultivation of useful plants, e.g. B. by selective weed control or through growth regulation to influence favorably.
Among other things, they are suitable for combating various types of plant and animal pests.
However, the compounds of formula 1 achieve an outstanding effect as microbicides. They have both preventive and curative effects against phytopathogenic fungi on crops such as grain, corn, rice, vegetables, sugar beets, soy, peanuts, on fruit trees, ornamental plants, but above all on vines, hops, cucumber plants (cucumbers, pumpkins, melons) on Solanaceae such as potatoes, tobacco and tomatoes, as well as on banana plants, cocoa and natural rubber trees.
These active ingredients can be used to contain or destroy fungi occurring on plants or parts of plants (fruits, flowers, foliage, stalks, tubers, roots), with parts of plants growing later also being spared from such fungi. The active ingredients are effective against the phytopathogenic fungi belonging to the following classes: Ascomycetes (Erysiphaceae); Basidiomycetes like especially rust fungi; Fungi imperfecti; but then especially against the Oomycetes belonging to the class of Phycomycetes such as Phytophothora, Peronospora, Pseudoperonospora or Plasmopara. In addition, the compounds of the formula I have a systemic effect.
They can also be used in particular as a dressing agent for the treatment of seeds (fruits, tubers, grains) and plant cuttings for protection against fungal infections and against phytopathogenic fungi occurring in the soil.
The compounds of formula I in which
EMI2.1
means have an asymmetric carbon atom and can be split into optical antipodes in the usual way. Here, the enantiomeric D-form has the stronger microbicidal effect. It is z. B. prepared the racemic compound of formula VI
EMI2.2
and reacted in a manner known per se with an N-containing optically active base. Functional crystallization of the salt obtained and subsequent release of the optical antipode, optionally also repetition of the reaction with the optically active base, gives one of the enantiomeric forms of the corresponding compound of the formula VI.
The esters or amides can then be produced from this in the usual way.
As an optically active organic base, for. B. ss-phenyl ethylamine in question.
The compounds of the formula I are used alone or together with suitable carriers and / or other additives, as described in main patent no. 590,608.
The compounds of the formula I can of course be used together with other suitable pesticidal active ingredients or active ingredients which promote plant growth in order to broaden their spectrum of activity.
The following examples serve to explain the invention in more detail without restricting it. The temperature data relate to degrees Celsius. Unless otherwise stated, when an active ingredient of the formula I is mentioned, which can occur in optically active forms, the racemic mixture is always meant.

Wettable powder
The following ingredients are used to produce a 50% wettable powder: 50 parts of N- (1 '-methoxycarbonyl-ethyl) -N- [furan (2 ") carbonyl] -2,3,6-trimethylaniline or another active ingredient according to the present invention He invention
5 parts of sodium dibutylnaphthylsulfonate,
3 parts naphthalenesulfonic acid-phenolsulfonic acids-
Formaldehyde condensate 3: 2: 1, 20 parts of kaolin, 22 parts of Champagne chalk;
The specified active ingredient is absorbed onto the appropriate carrier (kaolin) and then mixed and ground. Spray powder of excellent quality is obtained
Wettability and levitation.
Suspensions of any desired concentration can be obtained from such wettable powders by diluting them with water.
The following experiments describe the fungicidal properties of the active ingredients of the formula I:
Example 2 Action against Phytophthora infestans on Solanum lycopersicum (= tomatoes).
Ia) Residual preventive effect
After 3 weeks of cultivation, Solanum lycopersicum plants of the Roter Gnom variety are infected with a zoospore suspension of Phytophthora infestans after they have been sprayed with a broth containing 0.05% active substance (made from the active substance that has been processed into a wettable powder) and dried. You then stay for 6 days in a climatic chamber at 18 to 20 and high humidity, which is generated by means of an artificial spray.
After this time, typical leaf spots appear. Their number and size are the assessment criteria for the tested substance.
Ib) Curative effect
After three weeks of cultivation, tomato plants of the Red Gnome variety are sprayed with a zoospore suspension of the fungus and incubated in a cabin at 18 to 20 and saturated humidity. Interruption of humidification after 24 hours. After the plants have dried, they are sprayed with a broth which contains the active substance formulated as a wettable powder in a concentration of 0.05%.
After the spray coating has dried on, the plants are again placed in the humid cabin for 4 days.
The number and size of the typical leaf spots that appear after this time are the benchmark for the effectiveness of the substances tested.
II) Preventive-systemic effect
The active substance, formulated as a wettable powder, is added in a concentration of 0.05% (based on the soil volume) to the soil surface of three-week-old tomato plants of the Red Gnome variety. After a three-day waiting period, the underside of the leaves of the plants is sprayed with a zoospore suspension of Phytophthora infestans. They are then kept for 5 days in a spray booth at 18 to 20 ″ and saturated air humidity. After this time, typical leaf flakes form, the number and size of which are used to assess the effectiveness of the substances tested.
In these three experiments, the compounds of formula 1 show a strong foliar fungicidal action, i. H. the infestation is below 20%. No infestation is observed with some groups of compounds, including e.g. B. for connections A, customer.
Example 3
Action against Plasmopara viticola (Bert. Et Curt.) (Berl. Et
DeToni) on vines a) Residual preventive effect
Vine cuttings of the Chasselas variety were grown in the greenhouse. At the 10-leaf stage, 3 plants were sprayed with a broth prepared from the active substance formulated as a wettable powder. After the spray coating had dried on, the plants on the underside of the leaves were evenly infected with the spore suspension of the fungus. The plants were then kept in a humid chamber for 8 days. After this time, the control plants showed clear symptoms of disease. The number and size of the infection sites on the treated plants served as an assessment standard for the effectiveness of the substances tested.
b) Curative effect
Vine cuttings of the Chasselas variety were grown in the greenhouse and infected at the 10-leaf stage with a spore suspension of Plasmopara viticola on the underside of the leaf. After staying in the humid cabin for 24 hours, the plants were sprayed with an active ingredient mixture which had been prepared from a wettable powder of the active ingredient.
The plants were then kept in the humid cabin for 7 days. After this time, the symptoms of the disease appeared on the control plants. The number and size of the infection sites on the treated plants served as an assessment standard for the effectiveness of the substances tested.
In these two experiments, the compounds of the formula I show a strong fungicidal action, i.e. H. the infestation is below 20%.
Example 4 Action against Puccinia triticina on rye. Residual preventive effect
Rye plants 5-7 cm high were sprayed in the greenhouse with a 0.05 show active ingredient mixture prepared from a wettable powder, so that the plants were covered by a uniform coating of droplets. After this spray coating had dried on, the plants were uniformly infected with a uredospore suspension of the fungus. After 2 days in the humid chamber (at 18-20 "C and saturated humidity) and a further 1> 12 days in the greenhouse at 20-22" C and normal humidity, when the untreated control plants showed full infestation, evaluation was carried out.
The number and size of the infection sites on the treated plants served as an assessment standard for the effectiveness of the substances tested.
Some of the compounds of the formula I show good prevention of fungal attack, which is usually below 20%.
Example S Residual protective effect against Erysiphe cichoracearum (powdery mildew) on Cucurbita pepo.
Zuchetti plants were sprayed at the cotyledon stage with a spray mixture (0.05% active ingredient) prepared from the wettable powder of the active ingredient. After 48 hours, the treated plants were dusted with conidia of the fungus. The infected plants were grown in a greenhouse at approx.
22 C, and the fungal attack was assessed after 10 days.
Some of the compounds of the formula I of the present invention and some of the compounds covered by the main patent application No. 4572/74 show strong activity against powdery mildew.
Example 6 Inhibition of growth on grasses
On an established outdoor lawn consisting of the grasses Lolium perenne, Poa pratensis and Festuca rubra, plots of 3 m2 in size were sprayed with aqueous preparations of an active ingredient of Formula 1 two days after the first cut in spring. The amount of active ingredient used was the equivalent of 5 kg of AS / per hectare. Untreated plots were left as controls. 6 weeks after application, the average height of the grasses in treated and untreated plots was determined. The sward treated with the active ingredients was uniformly compact and had a healthy appearance. In particular, active ingredients of the formula I in which -X-R3 denotes an acetamide residue showed strong or almost complete inhibition of growth.
PATENT CLAIM 1
