It may be advisable to be able to check, in a wristwatch, the axial position of the stem and of the winding crown by a simple glance at the dial of the watch. In the case of a diving watch equipped with a waterproof screw-down crown, it is of paramount importance that when diving the crown is screwed fully onto the tube.
A simple glance at the dial should also make it possible to check whether the crown has been correctly screwed down.
The present invention specifically relates to a wristwatch, characterized in that it comprises a device indicating the position of the winding crown, actuated by the winding stem during the axial displacement of this stem.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view in elevation and in partial axial section through a watch case equipped with the device.
Fig. 2 shows a plan view.
Fig. 1 shows a bottom-cap 1 in which is housed a movement 2 carrying a dial 3 and provided with its winding stem 4. This winding stem is of usual design, threaded over part of its length 4a and having a part 4b of diameter smaller than the diameter of part 4c in which the groove receiving the pull stud is machined.
In the face of the edge of the bottom-cap 1 is machined a recess 5 in which is housed a lever 6, one end of which pivots on the bottom-cap by means of a screw 7 and which has a first arm 8 bent twice at an angle straight so as to come to the level of the winding stem 4. The lever 6 has a second arm 9 relatively long compared to the arm 8 and the end of which carries a green pallet 10. Between the arm 9 and the vertical wall 11 of the recess 5 is disposed a spring 12 retained on a projection of the box by its curved end 12a. This spring 12 has the effect of keeping the arm 8 of the lever in abutment against the end of part 4c of the winding stem.
Dial 3 bears a red mark in the form of a disc 13 of the same diameter as green paddle 10 and located on the path of paddle 10.
In the position shown in the drawing, the red disc 13 is uncovered and visible through the glass. This position corresponds to the time setting or crown unscrewed position. When the crown is pushed into its winding position, respectively when the crown is screwed onto the case, the winding stem moves to the left and allows the lever 6 to pivot anti-clockwise under the effect of the spring 12 such that the green paddle 10 covers the red disc 13. The wearer seeing the green disc instead of the red disc knows that the crown is in the correct position. In the position shown in the drawing, the pallet 10 is hidden, for example by a flange 14.
The winding stem could actuate any other mechanism, an amplification of the displacement of the stem being however judicious to facilitate the indication and its reading.
CLAIM
Wristwatch, characterized by the fact that it comprises a device indicating the position of the winding crown, actuated by the winding stem during the axial displacement of this stem.
SUB-CLAIMS
1. Wristwatch according to claim, characterized in that the device is constituted by a lever driven by the winding stem and pivoted on the case near the winding stem, this lever having an elongated arm whose end carries a color palette which covers or clears an area of color different from that of the palette, depending on whether the crown is in the rest and / or winding position, or, respectively, in the time-setting position.
2. Wristwatch according to sub-claim 1, characterized .par a spring disposed between the lever and the middle part, holding the lever against a bearing surface of the winding stem.
3. Wristwatch according to sub-claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said color zone is on the dial.
