The present invention relates to a corner assembly device for hollow profiles, tubes or having any shapes in section as long as one part is tubular or hollow.
There are many devices for this purpose, in particular those in which a bracket is introduced into the two sections which have to be assembled at right angles and then fixed therein using wedges. There are also devices in which a bracket introduced into the profiles is screwed into them.
However, these devices have certain drawbacks, either they are difficult to dismantle, or they do not allow the profiles to be strongly applied against one another to be assembled by their edge cut at 450.
The present invention seeks to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and relates to a corner assembly device for profiles which is distinguished by the fact that it comprises two corner pieces comprising two internal support faces and two internal support faces. external supports, the internal support faces being arranged at right angles to each other, as well as the external support faces, these corner pieces being housed in the service position entirely inside profiles to be assembled; two stops located at least partly inside the sections and each axially secured to one of the sections; and by the fact that it also comprises clamping members each passing through a wall of the profile and screwing into one of the stops.
The appended drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view thereof.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a partially cut away sectional view, taken along line III-III of FIG. 1.
The device is illustrated in the service position, showing the assembly of two tubes 1, 2 forming an angle of 900 between them. These tubes are cut at their end to be assembled at 450 so as to form the desired 90o angle when their edges are pressed against each other. The assembly device comprises two corner pieces 3, 3a housed in the service position inside the tubes 1, 2, each corner piece has two external support surfaces 4, 5 and two support surfaces internal 6, 7.
The external support faces are arranged in perpendicular planes and are intended to come into contact with the internal face of the external wall 8. 9 of each of the tubes 1, 2. The internal support faces 6, 7 also form a right angle between them and are in position (e service applied against the internal faces of the internal walls 10, 11 of the tubes 1, 2.
Thus the distance separating the planes comprising the external 4 and internal 6 bearing faces is equal to or slightly less than the distance e separating the internal faces of the walls 8, 10 of the tube 1. The same applies to the external 5 and internal faces 7 which are arranged in parallel planes spaced apart by a value equal to the distance separating the internal faces of the walls 9 and 11 of the tube 2.
It should be noted that the corner piece can be obtained by cutting a profile of suitable section.
The device also comprises two stops 12, 13 formed by cylindrical or parallelepipedal parts, the length of which corresponds approximately to the distance between the outer faces of the walls 8, 10 and 9, 11 of the tubes 1 and 2. These stops 12, 13 cross transversely the tubes 1, 2 and their ends are housed in openings made in the walls 8, 10, 9, 11 of the tubes 1, 2 having shapes corresponding to the cross section of these stops. These stops are thus made axially integral with the tubes 1, 2, or in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tubes.
The openings receiving the stops 12, 13 are offset relative to a longitudinal median plane of the corresponding tube so that planes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tubes 1, 2 passing through the longitudinal axis of the stops 12, 13 do not overlap. not cut. Each of these stops 12, 13 has an internal thread, the axis of which is in the service position parallel to the longitudinal axis of the corresponding tube 1, 2.
The assembly device also comprises two clamping members, constituted by bolts with conical heads provided with an internal hexagon 14, 15. The bolt 14 passes through the wall 9 of the tube 2, extends between the corner pieces 3, 3a and screws into the thread of the stop 12. Likewise, the bolt 15 passes through the wall 8 of the tube 1 extends between the corner pieces 3, 3a and is screwed into the stop 13.
This assembly device finally comprises spacers 16, 17 keeping the corner pieces 3, 3a apart laterally while leaving a passage for the corresponding bolt 14, 15. These spacers 16, 17 comprise a U-shaped part forming a spring tending to separate the parts 3, 3a from one another.
The tightening of the bolts 14, 15 causes on the one hand the application by force of the internal support faces 6, 7 against the corresponding wall 10, 11 of one of the tubes 1, 2 and on the other hand the application of outer walls 8, 9 of the tubes 1, 2 against the outer support faces 4, 5, which causes the clamping of the faces cut at the tab of the tubes 1, 2 against each other.
The conical heads of the bolts 14, 15 bear on the outer walls 8, 9 of the tubes 1, 2 deforming these walls locally so that the assembly is locked in the service position.
The assembly device described is particularly useful in the assembly of profiles of narrow section such as those used for the production of window frames.
