Description

The invention relates to a glass panel consisting of at least two panes arranged parallel to each other, at a certain distance from one another.

In particular, but not exclusively, the invention relates to the manufacture of glass panels intended for the production of thermally and phonically insulating picture windows.

In this field, in order to assemble panes arranged in parallel between them, it is known, for example (FR-A-2 546 221), to join them by their peripheral edges by trapping them in a frame.

Besides that this framing makes it possible to preserve the predetermined spacing between the panes, it includes means with a view to hermetically closing the volume comprised between said panes.

The frame also constitutes a means of mounting the panel on a structure such as a frame.

We know that these frames are generally made from elongated sections of cross section in "U" and which are joined by angle brackets.

Given the weight of the panes, the frames must be resistant and therefore have a cross section adapted to the forces they support.

Aluminum is commonly used for their production, but frames of this type are still relatively heavy and rather expensive.

In an attempt to remedy this drawback and reduce the amount of material used to form the frame, it is known (FR-A-2 349 021) to use panes, one of which is of dimensions substantially smaller than the other. , to assemble these panes by means of simple sealing rods and to form a frame only around a single pane and in particular around that of larger dimensions.

These arrangements allow a significant saving on the weight of assembly material used, but the production of glazed panels according to these same dimensions is relatively long and complex.

To overcome these drawbacks, it is known (EP-136 064) to assemble parallel glass sheets by means of an adhesive material seal, while preserving the spacing between the panes by means of a frame. rigid which forms a spacer between the said panes and support for the adhesive material.

The assembly of the panels thus formed to a support such as a structure is carried out by means of anchoring members which pass through the corners of one of the panes and in particular of the pane intended to be placed outside of the construction produced called front window.

Of course, the so-called back interior glass has, in the corners, cutouts which allow the passage of the anchoring members towards the support structure.

This solution makes it possible to produce daring constructions practically without fixing elements appearing externally.

However, in the event of the glass connected to the support structure breaking by the anchoring members, the other window being without support systematically falls, which goes against safety.

A result which the invention aims to obtain is a glass panel of the aforementioned type and therefore comprising, at least, a front window and a back window assembled together by a seal made of adhesive material which, while being self-supporting, does not have not that kind of inconvenience.

    • on the one hand, its base which is at least indirectly in contact with the front window and which has an anchoring means to this window and,
    • - On the other hand, its top which is substantially located in the plane of the external face of the back glass and which has at least one anchoring means for the flange placed in abutment on this external face.
  • The invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description below given by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the attached drawing which schematically represents:

    • FIG. 2: a transverse view in local section, another embodiment of the invention,
    • Figure 3: seen from the front, a panel produced according to the invention.

Referring to the drawing, we see a glass panel 1 mainly composed of two panes 2, 3 arranged parallel and at a certain distance from each other.

Conventionally, the spacing between the two panes 2, 3 is delimited by a joint 4 of dimensions inscribed in those of the assembly.

In addition to its role as a spacer, the seal makes it possible to hermetically close the volume 5 comprised between the two panes 2, 3.

The panes shown in the drawing are rectangular in shape, but this is not limiting for the invention.

As can be seen in the drawing, one (2) of the panes 2, 3 has, in at least one direction perpendicular to two of its parallel edges 6, a dimension considerably smaller than that of the opposite pane 3.

For the remainder of the description, without this being limiting for the invention, the window 2 of smaller dimensions will be called the back window 2, while the window 3 of larger dimensions will be called the front window 3.

In Figure 3, the elements seen by transparency through the front window are shown in thin lines.

Without any limiting nature, it will be noted that the two panes 2, 3 appear to be substantially centered on one another.

The faces 7, 8 opposite the front 2 and dorsal 3 panes will be called internal faces and the opposite faces 9, 10 of these panes will be called external faces.

It can be seen that along each of the edges 6 of the back window 2 which are set back relative to those 11 of the front window 3, there are arranged, in combination:
  • - On the one hand, at least one flange 12 which has two substantially parallel surfaces 13, 14, facing the panes, not contiguous and of spacing D determined so that each of said surfaces 13, 14 creates for the flange 12 a zone support one 13 on the external face 9 of the back window 2, the other 14 on the internal face 8 of the front window 3, and,
  • - on the other hand, at least one mechanical element 15 for removable connection between said flange 12 and the front window 3.

As provided by the invention, each mechanical connecting element 15 consists of a substantially cylindrical candle 15, the body 16 of which has a height H at least substantially equal to the spacing D between the internal and external faces of the front elements 3 respectively. and back 2, this candle having:
  • on the one hand, its base 17 which is at least indirectly in contact with the front window 3 and which has an anchoring means 18 to this window 3 and,
  • - on the other hand, its top 19 which is substantially situated in the plane of the external face 9 of the back glass and which has at least one anchoring means 20 for the flange placed in abutment on this external face 9.

In known manner, the support flange 12 consists of a profile 21 which extends substantially over the entire longitudinal dimension of the edge 6 of the back glass 2 to the right of which it is located.

The assembly of these sections 21 together at each corner of the back glass is carried out in a conventional manner and, preferably, by means of angle brackets (not shown).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, at least one of the sections 21 which equips a glass panel produced according to the invention comprises means (not shown) in order to allow the articulation of said panel on a frame (not shown).

In addition to these articulation means, the profile can advantageously include means (not shown) for fixing to the frame but also means (not shown) in order to achieve the seal between frame and glass panels.

According to the invention, to constitute the anchoring means 18 to the front window 3, on the one hand, in the vicinity of its base 17, the jack 15 passes through the front window 3 by a hole 22 substantially adjusted to this base and, on the other hand, this candle has integral with its base 17 a support foot 23 allowing contact with the external face 10 of the front window 3.

According to the invention, according to an alternative embodiment, the anchoring means 18 of the base of the candle 15 5 to the front window 3 consists of a screw 24, of which, on the one hand, the front face 25 of the head 26 rests on the external face 10 of said front window 3 and, of which, on the other hand, the threaded rod 27 passes through this same window by a hole 22 to come to cooperate with a tapping 29 of the base 17 of the so-called candle 15.

Comme cela apparaît sur le dessin, la chandelle 15 comprend à sa base 17 une face 17a d'appui sur la face interne 8 de la vitre frontale 3.As shown in the drawing, the candle 15 comprises at its base 17 a face 17a for bearing on the internal face 8 of the front window 3.

As the invention provides, the anchoring means 20 of the flange 12 at the top 19 of the candle 1 5 consists of a screw 30, of which, on the one hand, the head 31 is located by its front face 32 at least indirectly bearing on the flange 12 and, of which, on the other hand, the threaded rod 33 passes through said flange by a bore 34 to come to anchor in a thread made in the top of the candle.

In a preferred embodiment, it is this same screw 30 which allows the glass panel 1 to be fixed to a structure 35.

Avantageusement, la tête de la vis 30 peut présenter toute forme appropriée en vue de constituer un élément d'ancrage pour un cadre (non représenté) rapporté contre la vitre frontale et destiné à masquer extérieurement le joint 4 entre les vitres 2, 3.Advantageously, the head of the screw 30 can have any suitable shape with a view to constituting an anchoring element for a frame (not shown) attached against the front window and intended to mask the seal 4 between the windows 2, 3 externally.

En se reportant au dessin, on voit que sans moyen de liaison supplémentaire c'est la vis 30 qui permet la liaison à une structure 35 dont une aile 36 est interposée entre la face antérieure 32 de la dite vis et la bride 12.Referring to the drawing, it can be seen that without additional connection means it is the screw 30 which allows the connection to a structure 35 of which a wing 36 is interposed between the front face 32 of said screw and the flange 12.

Of course, several screws 30 are used for assembling the glass panel 1 to a structure.

In a preferred embodiment, the candle 15 comprises at its base 17 a positioning means 37 which cooperates with the bore 22 made in the front window 3 to allow the passage of the anchoring means 18 from the external face of the front window .

According to one embodiment, the positioning means 37 consists of a short finger 38 substantially adjusted to the diameter of the bore 22 with which it cooperates.

De préférence, le sommet 19 de la chandelle 15 comprend également un court doigt de centrage 39 qui coopère avec un perçage 34 réservé dans la bride 12 pour permettre le passage du moyen d'ancrage 20 de la bride 12 jusqu'à la dite chandelle 15.Preferably, the top 19 of the candle 15 also includes a short centering finger 39 which cooperates with a hole 34 reserved in the flange 12 to allow the passage of the anchoring means 20 of the flange 12 to the said candle 15 .

In a preferred embodiment, at least two candles 15 are used by edge of back panel 2 fitted with a flange 12.

Although this does not appear in the drawing, it is understood that in the event of the front window 3 breaking, pieces of glass (not shown) remain pinched between the head of the anchoring means 18 and the flange 12 and allow therefore keeping the back glass in position insofar as, of course, it is intact.

To this end, the candles 15 are advantageously positioned so that the lateral face of their body 16 comes locally at least indirectly into contact with the edge 6 of the back glass.

For the production of glass panels 1, it suffices:
  • to equip with candles 15 the largest of the panes to be assembled, in particular the front pane 3 then,
  • to have on the internal face of this window fitted with candles 15, a joint 4 connecting between panes which is of dimensions falling within the zone 40 delimited by the candles,
  • placing a back glass of dimensions bearing on the joint 4 which fits into said zone 40 delimited by the candles 15,
  • - Mount as many flanges 12 as necessary on the back glass 2 using the anchoring means 20 for this purpose.
