Description

  Adjustable support for raised floor
The present invention relates to an adjustable support for a false floor.

It is known practice to construct false floors in premises intended to receive electrical or electronic installations, in particular computers, to make it possible to hide the numerous electric cables used in such installations. These false floors are generally formed of contiguous square plates, resting on supports of adjustable height placed on a concrete slab.

The solutions proposed so far for these supports have not been entirely satisfactory because they are complicated to adjust, requiring specialized labor.

The present invention aims to provide a solution which allows easier and faster assembly of the false floor.

The adjustable support according to the invention is distinguished by] the fact that it comprises a base intended to rest on a slab and carrying a tube of non-circular section on which is fitted a cap in which passes a threaded rod carrying to one of its ends a support plate and at another end said cap, two nuts being screwed on this rod and serving to block said rod, on the one hand, first to the support plate and, on the other hand, to said hat.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the support forming the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is an elevational view in section of this support.

Fig. 2 is a section taken along the line A-A of FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a partial sectional view similar to FIG. 1 of a detail variant.

The adjustable support for false floor shown in fig. 1 and 2 comprises a base 1 intended to rest on a slab 2 and carrying a tube 3 of square section on which is fitted a cap 4 provided with a threaded rod
S carrying a support plate 6 intended to support the corners of at least two juxtaposed plates 7 of the false floor. This support plate 6 normally carries the four corners located at the point of intersection of four plates of the false floor.

The base 1 is formed of a circular plate having on its underside a central milling 8. The milling 8 improves the seating of the base 1 which is glued to the slab 2.

A central square housing 10 is provided in the upper face of the base 1 to receive the square tube 3 by interlocking.

The threaded rod 5 also carries two nuts 11 and 12 serving to block on it, on the one hand, the support plate 6 and, on the other hand, the cap 4 at the desired height.

In the variant shown in FIG. 3, the base 1 'has on its upper face a central projection 13 of square section, on which the tube 3 fits.

The adjustable supports such as that described have the advantage of allowing the fast and easy assembly of a false floor. For this purpose, the bases 1 are glued on the slab 2 following a grid corresponding to the points of intersection of the plates of the false floor. The tubes 3 are then fitted into the corresponding housings 10 of the bases 1 or on the projections 13 in the case of the variant according to FIG. 3.

The support plate 6 of each support is locked on the threaded rod 5 by means of the nut 12. This operation is done in the workshop. On the other hand, the cap 4 is blocked on site according to the height to be given to the complete support. For this, the worker screws, in the cap 4, the threaded rod 5 at the correct distance from the plate 6 to obtain the desired height of the support, then he locks the nut 11 using a wrench.

This operation is greatly facilitated by the grip offered by the square tube. It will be noted here that, instead of having a square section, the tube could have any other non-circular section, for example rectangular or hexagonal.
