Fig. 3 eine Druntersicht dieser Tülle und
Fig. 4 einen Teilschnitt durch diese.
Spout for removing the liquid or pasty contents of plastic containers with soft walls
The invention relates to a spout for removing the liquid or pasty contents of plastic containers with soft walls. In many areas of technology, liquid or pasty materials are used, which are delivered in hermetically sealed containers or envelopes in order to avoid the entry of air. Such containers are often designed as simple bags or balloons made of thin plastic film, which do not have their own closure device and, with regard to the nature of the contents, should only be opened immediately before use.
For example, it is extremely expedient to surround the splice or connection points of cables or wires with a solid sheath made of a hard synthetic resin which is introduced under pressure in a liquid form into a housing enclosing such points. This synthetic resin is only mixed together just before its use and is located in a closed, flexible container. This container is placed in the cylinder of a transfer press, a pressure-tight connection to the housing is established and the potting resin is then pressed into the housing with the aid of the press.
Without being directed exclusively to this use, it is an object of the invention to create a spout that can be placed on the hermetically sealed container before being introduced into the injection press and attached to it, as well as a leak-free, tight connection with the inlet opening of a the mentioned housing allowed. The container remains closed in the injection press until it is actuated. As a result of this actuation, the container wall is broken through with the help of the spout in order to allow the contents of the container to pass into the housing surrounding the splice or connection point, even when very high pressures are used without leakage.
In particular, this spout enables practically complete transfer of the potting resin from the container to the eating point, regardless of whether the container is accidentally or unavoidably folded or shifted, in which case parts of the thin wall lie over the inner end of the spout.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment which is illustrated in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a side view of a spout according to the invention with a device for fastening the same to a container,
FIG. 2 shows the grommet according to FIG. 1 with another fastening device, partly in side view with viewing direction rotated by 900, partly in section,
Fig. 3 is a bottom view of this spout and
4 shows a partial section through this.
For reasons of expediency and economy, the illustrated grommet 10 can be made of a hard synthetic resin, preferably of impact-resistant, transparent polystyrene. It is preferably glued to a container containing the potting resin for fastening or placement on the latter, namely with the aid of a central opening, round or rhombic section 11 of a self-adhesive tape, with the adhesive surface facing the container (Fig. 1), or by means of a thin, compressible one Carrier layer 12, e.g. B. a fabric which is covered on both surfaces with an adhesive layer (Fig. 2). A typical spout with the proportions corresponding to the drawing is slightly longer than 50 mm.
The mouthpiece according to the invention consists of a tubular body 13 which, at one end, has a section preferably carrying a conical external thread 14 for a tight connection with a relatively soft connecting piece of a housing at a potting point. At the other end of the tubular body there is a base in the form of an outwardly projecting disc 15 and in the center an axially protruding, thin tubular extension 16 which is provided with two intersecting slots to form four elongated, narrow passages 17. The edge of this tubular extension is beveled and shaped into a sharp edge 18.
As FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 show, the surface of the disc 15 facing away from the tubular extension is flat, whereas the other surface of this disc, starting from its outer edge, rises slightly conically and extends inward to an annular sealing projection 19 in the form of a Rib of triangular cross-section extends. The slotted tubular extension 16 protrudes noticeably over the annular sealing attachment, which in turn projects beyond an annular flat surface zone 20 of the disk 15.
On the part of the tubular body 13 located in the vicinity of the annular disk, two opposing locking lugs 21 and two also opposing handles 22 are attached, which also serve as locking lugs.
The locking lugs or handles 21, 22 all protrude from the flat surface of the washer at an equal distance that is large enough to allow the spout to be inserted into a corresponding radially slotted end cap of an injection press and provided with locking elements, and to allow its seal in the same .
The spout is attached to a smooth surface portion of the container containing the potting resin, with the sharp edges 18 of the tubular extension 16 pressing slightly against the smooth container wall. The container is inserted into the open cylinder of the injection press and the spout is guided through the central opening of the removed end cap, which is radially slotted and provided with shoulders or recesses for receiving the locking lugs or handles 21, 22, which are connected to the latter according to Art a quick connection, e.g. B. cooperate a bayonet lock. The end cap is then placed on the cylinder and the spout is tightly connected to the cap by twisting.
The flat surface of the annular disk 15, in an arrangement according to FIG. 1 with the interposition of the thin self-adhesive tape 11, is held tightly against the inner surface of the end cap. The threaded end of the spout is then screwed into the connecting element of a housing to be poured or a pressure line or tightly connected to it in some other way and then the piston of the injection press is pressurized. Under the influence of the resulting hydraulic pressure, the container wall is pressed sealingly against the sealing shoulder 19 and its part located within this shoulder into the opening of the tubular extension and into the annular groove that surrounds it.
The container wall tensioned in this way tears, in particular due to the sharp-edged design of the end of the pipe extension and the passages 17, very soon at a point within the sealing attachment, so that the contents of the container can escape under pressure.
During the leakage of the container contents it can happen that the wall of the compressed container forms one or more folds which lie in front of the open end of the tubular extension or even over the entire area within the annular sealing attachment. However, you cannot prevent the access of the remaining envelope contents to the open annular groove surrounding the tubular extension, because this extension is preferred over the level of the sealing attachment and at the same time the passages 17 form a free cross section for the contents to enter the extension. The container can therefore be essentially completely emptied. As soon as this has happened, the injection press is opened, the nozzle is removed from the end cap and the empty container and the nozzle attached to it are removed from the cylinder.
Both the cylinder and the end cap and the rest of the components of the transfer press remained clean because they did not come into contact with the contents of the container.
