<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

A waterproof case watch The present invention relates to a waterproof case watch, the back of which, screwed into a caseband-bezel, fits into the latter by means of an internal annular shoulder serving as a stop for a gasket. flat seal disposed between two opposite horizontal faces of the back and of the caseband-bezel, and the movement of which is applied by a casing circle against a bearing surface of the middle-bezel.
Watches are already known exhibiting some of these characteristics. In fact, in a known construction, a caseband-bezel applies an intermediate piece, having an inner rim forming a flange, against an annular seal supported by a flat face of the base and centered by an annular shoulder of this same base. In another known construction, the movement is applied against an independent flange by a frame suspended from a shoulder of the back which itself clamps the glass against a bezel, without the interposition of a sealing package.
In all constructions of this type, the problem of the encaging circle is not solved rationally. Indeed, it has not been proposed until now a simple and economical solution to support the movement by taking advantage of the annular shoulder of the bottom to save space and ensure the maintenance of the movement in a safe manner and avoiding additional machining operations.
The present invention, which obviates precisely this drawback, is characterized by the fact that the casing circle extends below a range of the movement and above said annular shoulder, resting against their two horizontal faces. corresponding. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a half-section of the first embodiment, and FIG. 2, a similar section of the second embodiment.
Fig. 1 shows, in 1, a caseband-bezel bearing the glass 2 of the watch, placed or glued in place in a sealed manner, internally it is limited by a single cylinder. The rear face of the caseband 1 comprises a cylindrical rim the inner wall of which is threaded, as indicated in lb. The diameter of the thread lb is notably greater than the internal diameter of the caseband-bezel 1, so that between the front end of this thread and the internal cylindrical wall of this bezel is arranged an annular flat 1c situated in a perpendicular plane to the general axis of the housing.
The bezel 1 is intended to receive a bottom 3 forming a sealed cover. As shown, the bottom 3 has the general shape of a cup, the cylindrical periphery of which carries a thread 3a suitable for screwing into the thread lb of the bezel. The forward-most end of the threaded portion of the outer wall of the bottom 3 connects with a flat 3b which faces the flat 1c of the bezel. This flat 3b does not extend to the inner cylindrical wall of said bottom, but is separated therefrom by a shoulder 3c in the form of a thin cylinder, the outer diameter of which is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the bezel.
The seal 4 is clamped between the flats 3b and 1c, its centering being provided by the shoulder 3c. The assembly thus produced has the advantage of ensuring perfect centering of the seal 4. On the other hand, if

the operation of threading the bezel 1 has the usual drawback of being hampered by the presence of the flat 1c, on the other hand, as regards the bottom 3, the thread 3a opens freely at its two ends and can therefore be produced under the simplest and most economical conditions. Thanks to the presence of the cylindrical rim 1a, which somehow defers the threaded part of the bezel backwards,
the radial hole 1d provided for the passage of the sealed crown tube opens directly inside said bezel without intersecting any thread. It can also be noted that the metal particles or chips possibly torn from the threads are isolated from the inside of the housing by the seal 4.
The annular shoulder 3c being of low height, there is placed between the range 6a of the movement and the upper face of this shoulder a space allowing the accommodation of a casing ring 5 (FIG. 1). This casing circle, which rests on the annular shoulder 3c, maintains the movement 6 by its dial 6b, against the bearing or height of the caseband-bezel 1. In this first embodiment, the circle d The casing is rectangular in section.
As a variant, in FIG. 2, the caging circle? consists of a folded or stamped sheet, two perpendicular faces of which bear against a cylindrical face of the movement 6 and against the bearing surface 6a and of which another face rests on the annular shoulder 3c. The construction described and shown in the drawing has the advantage of great simplicity. The case is sealed and the movement is held in place at the same time by the caseback and the bezel case, whose very simple section allows easy and inexpensive machining. The arrangement of the casing circle not only simplifies manufacturing and saves space, but also ensures that the movement is centered.
