Portable wood debarking machine The present invention relates to a portable wood debarking machine comprising a working head having a rotating drum and a motor for driving this head. This machine is charac terized by the fact that the motor and the head are coupled so as to form a single rigid element.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a general elevational view of the body of the machine.
Fig. 2 is a side view along II-II of FIG. 1, and fig. 3, a partial section along III-III of the same figure.
Fig. 4 shows a detail of FIG. 2.
Figs. 5 and 6 are views in elevation, respectively in plan, of the support of the machine.
Fig. 7 shows a view along VII-VII of part of FIG. 5.
In the drawing, 1 shows the casing of an engine partially shown in FIG. 3, and whose axis 2 carries a rotor 3 and a fan 4. This axis is pivoted through two ball bearings 5, only one of which is shown, and carries at one of its ends, fixed by a screw 6 , a rotary drum 7 carrying three working knives 8. This drum still rests on a ring 9 which itself abuts against the lower ring of the bearing 5.
The knives 8 are generally rectangular in shape and have a tapered side 10 as well as openings 11 for the passage of clamping bolts 12. These knives are fixed in slots penetrating into the drum at a predetermined angle u, parallel to its axis. of rotation.
This drum is partially covered by a sheet metal protection 13, screwed at 14 on the housing and having a handle 15 for holding and handling the machine.
The housing 1 has a central part, provided with ribs 16, as well as four circular bearing surfaces 17, 18, 19 and 20. The bearing surfaces 17 and 20 are each intended to engage in one of the half-rings 21 and 22 fixed on a plate 23 and forming the cradle of the support 24 of the machine. A flange 25 rests on the bearing surface 19 of the housing and <RTI
ID = "0001.0085"> has a tensioner 26 making it possible to removably fix the latter in the cradle. The support is itself formed of three tubular feet 27 held together by the crosspieces 28.
One of them has a vertical sleeve 29 provided with a crank pin, clamping 30 allows both to fix a bent arm 31 whose horizontal part is surrounded by a rotating cylinder 32.
The latter is arranged exactly below the knives, parallel to the axis of rotation of the cylinder. This arrangement makes it possible to roll the logs to be debarked, keeping them at the correct height relative to the knives.
By rigidly mounting, in a single element, the drive motor and the working head, a particularly manoeuvrable and easy-to-use machine has been achieved. In fact, this machine is only linked by a flexible electric wire and not by a relatively rigid cable as in devices where the head and the motor are separated.
Of course, this machine can be used independently, for example by hand, or on the contrary fixed on a support of the type described.
