Waterproof watch The subject of the present patent is a waterproof watch whose case is formed of at least two parts assembled with the interposition of a seal.
This watch is characterized by the fact that it comprises a valve allowing a pressurized gas to be blown inside the box, and by the fact that the two said parts are shaped so as to be pressed against each other. 'other when an overpressure reigns inside the box.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a partial section of the first embodiment; fig. 2 is a similar view of the second embodiment.
The first embodiment comprises a box formed by a bottom-cap 10 on which is screwed a fixing bezel 11 of the crystal 12. This bezel is supported on a rim 13 of the crystal by means of a package of annular seal 14 conforming to the V-shaped contours of a projection and a centering groove which the bezel 11 and the rim 13 of the crystal have respectively.
The seal between the middle part and the bezel is also ensured by a sealing washer 15, V-shaped, compressed by the clamping pressure.
The middle 10 is provided with a valve 16 intended to be connected to a device for blowing gas into the box. The orifice of this valve is formed of three sections: a first threaded section into which is screwed a threaded plug 17, a smooth intermediate section of diameter equal to the original diameter of the threaded section and a reduced diameter section opening inside the box.
The valve flap consists of a stamped capsule 18 sliding in the intermediate section. This capsule takes the form of a bowl, the edge 18a of which has an inverted V-shaped profile.
One of the seats of this valve is formed by the inner face of the cap 17 which has an annular groove in profile corresponding to that of the edge of the cap 18 and in which is glued a sealing washer 19. Its other seat is formed by a frustoconical surface 20 connecting the intermediate and reduced diameter sections of the orifice of the valve.
The valve is closed when the capsule is applied against the washer 19 and open when this capsule, which has notches 18b on its periphery for the passage of gas, is applied against the surface 20.
When the different parts of the box are assembled, air or another pressurized gas is blown inside the box.
The overpressure then prevailing therein presses the crystal 12 against the bezel 11, ensuring between these two parts an absolutely perfect seal.

The second embodiment differs from the first by the fact that the middle part 21 is integral with the bezel 22 and distinct from the back 23 and by the fact that the movement is placed in a casing circle 24. A valve, no shown, allows a pressurized gas to be blown into the box so that, as in the first embodiment, the glass 25 is pressed against the bezel 22 by the overpressure prevailing in the box.
