Comme on le voit, le bras 8 est disposé tangentiellement par rapport au dispositif 7 de changement de vitesse, sui vant un angle tel que, quand il est libéré, il se dégage de ce dispositif en tombant sous l'action de son pro pre poids. L'élément 23 se présente sous la forme d'un renvoi de sonnette, articulé par un axe 25 à l'intérieur de la chape d'extrémité du bras de limita tion de couple ; la branche courte de l'élément 23 constitue la mâchoire 24, et sa branche longue 26 comporte une fente incurvée 27, dans laquelle s'en gage un axe 28 pour limiter le pivotement de l'élé ment 23 à un angle approximatif de 20,,. La branche longue 26 de l'élément 23 se termine par un bord 29, qui a la forme d'un arc ayant comme centre l'axe 25 ;
Torque limiting arm, in particular for transmission and speed change devices The present invention relates to a torque limiting arm, in particular for transmission and speed change devices, comprising an articulated rod, with a first end, on a fixed point, a device for connecting the second end of the rod to a protruding and eccentric part of an organ tending to turn, this part being able to disengage itself when a predetermined force is applied to it. applied by said member, this positive say comprising an element which is articulated on the second end of the rod and which comprises a jaw intended to engage with said sail lante part, on one side thereof,
and an elastic device incorporated in the rod for normally maintaining the articulated element in an active position with respect to said protrusion.
Limiting arms of this type are known in which the fingers pressed by springs are responsible for normally maintaining the pivoting and articulated element, located at the end remote from the torque limiting arm, resiliently engaged with the projecting part and eccentric of the gearshift device housing. Due to wear and tear; and / or their seizure in the guide sleeves, as a result of the accumulation of rust and foreign bodies, the fingers risk not playing their role, that is to say not maintaining the control arm. torque limitation connected to the gear change device.
This arm, being constantly subjected to vibrations, frequently escapes outside the speed change device, and in this case it is necessary to reconnect it to this device, consequently stopping the driven machine. The object of the present invention is to provide a torque limiting arm making it possible to eliminate the drawback mentioned above. It is charac terized in that a stud is arranged on the rod to be applied on the protruding part, on the opposite side thereof.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the neck limiting arm which is the subject of the invention.

The gear transmission and reduction mechanism shown comprises a motor 1, which is mounted on a base 2 and a drive pulley 3, connected by a belt 4 to a driven pulley 5; this pulley 5 is mounted on the input shaft 6 of a speed change device 7. The grained sections of the device 7 are enclosed in a housing 9; they comprise a pinion with spur teeth 11, which is wedged on the input shaft 6 and which drives a toothed wheel 12 wedged on a shaft 13 pivoting inside the housing. A third toothed wheel 14, keyed on the shaft 13, drives a fourth toothed wheel ;. 15, wedged on the output shaft 16 of the gear change positive.
The output shaft 16 is fixed directly to the shaft of the machine M which is to be driven.
The torque limiting arm 8 serves to normally prevent the rotation, in one piece, of the positive shifting device 7, around the axis of the shaft 16; for this, this arm is engaged with a pin 20 that has the housing 9; this stud is eccentric with respect to the housing and protrudes laterally.
As seen in Figs. 3 to 9, the arm 8 comprises a rod 19, which is articulated at 21, at its lower end, on a fitting 22 fixed to the floor or to another fixed surface; this rod 19 has at its upper end a yoke of tines to receive a pivoting element 23; this element 23 is provided with a jaw 24, which engages in a removable manner with the pin 20 of the housing 9 of the gear change device 7, partially encircling this pin, on one side of the interval between the heads thereof.
As can be seen, the arm 8 is disposed tangentially with respect to the speed change device 7, following an angle such that, when it is released, it emerges from this device by falling under the action of its own weight. . The element 23 is in the form of a bell return, articulated by a pin 25 inside the end yoke of the torque limiting arm; the short branch of the element 23 constitutes the jaw 24, and its long branch 26 has a curved slot 27, in which is engaged an axis 28 to limit the pivoting of the element 23 to an angle of approximately 20, ,. The long branch 26 of the element 23 ends with an edge 29, which has the shape of an arc having the axis 25 as its center;
this edge 29 has a central V-shaped notch 31, in which the wedge-shaped end of a trigger 32 can be engaged. This de tent is pushed into the notch 31 by a spring 33; it has a longitudinal slot 34, in which engages a key 35, which prevents the trigger from rotating around its own axis, while allowing it to come and go while approaching or moving away from the notch . The mouth of the jaw 24 opens substantially at right angles to the axis of the rod 19.
A stud 36 is arranged so as to rest against the stud 20 of the casing 9, on the side opposite to the jaw 24; this stud is supported by a plate 37, so that it can be retracted; this plate is removably attached by screws 38 to one side of the end yoke of the torque limiting arm 8. Normally, this stud 36 is resiliently held in a protruding position, as shown. in fig. 7, by a ball 39 engaged in a circumferential groove 40 of the stud; this ball is pushed by a spring 41 ', which is housed in a socket of part 37, and which can be adjusted by means of a screw 42 screwed into this socket.
The stud 36 also includes a second circumferential groove 43, which is spaced from the groove 40 and in which the ball 39 can engage, in order to hold the stud in the retracted position.
The offset part 41 of the rod 19 comprises a bore 45, in which the spring 33 is located; the trigger 32 is guided in an axial direction in this bore. A plug 46 is screwed into the lower end of this bore; a screw 47 is screwed in this stopper along the axis, the inner end of which rests against a disc 48 for supporting the spring 33. Thanks to this arrangement, the pressure of the spring 33 can be adjusted with precision, and 'the chosen setting can be fixed by means of a nut 49 screwed on the screw 47; this nut rests against the lower end of the offset part 41 of the torque limiting arm 8. The lubricating oil is introduced into the bore 45 by means of a connector 50.
In some cases, it may be necessary or desirable to place the torque limiting arm 8 in a reverse position with respect to the gear change device 7, as seen in Figs. 10 and 11; this adaptation is obtained simply by transferring the part 37, which carries the pin 36, on the opposite side of the end cap of the arm, as can easily be understood by looking at the drawing.
