Etau.
Cette ouverture 14, ménagée à partir du centre du support 7, suivant un méridien de celle-ci, est plus étroite que le diamètre du perçage 13; à l'une des extrémités de ce der nier est engagé un tenon 15 vissé à un collier 16 logé dans un évidement correspondant 17 du socle 10; ce collier 16 est destiné à être déplacé, suivant l'axe du perçage 13, pour immobiliser le support 7 sur le socle 10, au moyen d'un excentrique 18, dont est pourvue une tige 19;
Vice. The present invention relates to a vice, comprising a pair of jaws, ca ractérisé in that its jaws are carried by a frame mounted on a generally spherical support on which said frame is retained by an arm housed in an opening of the support comprising the center of the latter where one end of the arm is articulated which can thus oscillate in the support, support which has a foot allowing it to pivot on a base intended to fix the entire vice on a base, means being further provided to block the frame on the support, respectively the support on the base,
after the frame for both jaws has been given the desired inclination and azimuth.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the stau which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view thereof, and FIG. 2 is a dirty cross-sectional view with the jaws removed.
The vice shown comprises two chisels 1 and 2 carried by a frame 3 to which is fixed a head 4 which has one end of an arm 5, the other end of which is screwed to a sphere 6 arranged in the center of a support. spherical 7; the latter is provided with a foot 8 bearing, by means of a flat face 9 on a base 10. The face 9 comprises at its periphery a circular shoulder Il housed in the corresponding groove 12 of the base 10.
The spherical support 7 has a radial bore 13 leading, on the one hand, to the center of the circular face 9 of the foot 8 and, on the other hand, to an opening 14 in which the arm 5 can oscillate.
This opening 14, formed from the center of the support 7, following a meridian thereof, is narrower than the diameter of the bore 13; at one end of the latter is engaged a tenon 15 screwed to a collar 16 housed in a corresponding recess 17 of the base 10; this collar 16 is intended to be moved, along the axis of the bore 13, to immobilize the support 7 on the base 10, by means of an eccentric 18, with which a rod 19 is provided;
the latter, disposed through the collar 16, is pivoted in the base 10 and comprises an operating handle 21.
The tenon 15 bears against an annular stop plate 22 housed in a recess of the foot 8 and screwed to the latter.
A locking screw 23, which can be reached through an orifice 24 in the support 7, ensures that the tenon 15 is screwed onto the collar 16.
The sphere 6, arranged in the center of the support 7 at the other end of the bore 13, is designed to pivot in the latter when the arm 5 oscillates in the opening 14; a locking screw 25, which can be reached through a duct 26 drilled in the support 7, enables one of the ends of the arm 5 to be screwed into the sphere 6.
The head 4 of the other end of the latter is engaged in a housing 27 of the frame 3; it has a bore 28, inside which an eccentric 29 is housed, carried by a rod 30 pivoted in the frame 3 and provided with a -handle 31.
The movable jaw 2 can be moved on the frame 3 by means of a screw 32 actuated by a crank 33.
The vice shown can be used as follows: When it comes to giving the jaws 1 and 2 a certain inclination, the net ma 31 controlling the eccentric 29 is actuated to release the head 4, which makes it possible to move the arm. 5 angularly in the opening 14; when the jaws have the desired inclination, the lever 31 is returned to its original position.
To rotate the jaws 1 and 2, the lever 21 is actuated to release the tenon 15, the support 7 is then pivoted by the desired angle, then said support 7 is blocked by returning the lever 21 to its original position. .
In a variant embodiment, provision is made for an opening 14 such that the arm 5 can describe an angle of 180.
A spring stopper 34, provided in the support 7, makes it possible to identify the position of the frame 3 for which the rod 5 is perpendicular to the base 10.
