Automatic winding device for watch placed on a vehicle. The present invention relates to an automatic winding device for a watch placed on a vehicle, comprising a pendulum suspended from a support so as to be able to oscillate in all directions.
This device is characterized by a rod, guided so as to be able to slide on its axis and. having at one of its ends a member that a spring. tends to press against a second member integral with the pendulum, said rod carrying means intended to actuate a ratchet. winding the watch, the whole in such a way that, when the vehicle is in motion, the pendulum oscillates and communicates to the stem a back-and-forth movement, so that said ratchet is always actuated in the same direction and go up there. watch.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment and three variations of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view, partially in section, of this embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a section, on an enlarged scale, along line II-II of FIG. 1.
Figs. 3 to 5 are elevation views, partially in section, of the variants.
The device shown in FIG. 1 comprises a support 1 fixed to the vehicle and integral with a watch 2 intended to be wound up by said device. In the support 1 is pivoted, by means of a gimbal 3, a pendulum 4 which can therefore oscillate in all directions. The rod 5 supporting the pendulum 4 ends at its upper end with a member 6, the role of which will be explained below.
A cylindrical rod 7 is guided, on the one hand, in a bore 8 of the support 1 and, on the other hand, in a fixed sleeve 9, so as to be able to slide on its axis. The rod 7 carries. at its upper end (fig. 1), a pawl 7.0 pivoting at 11 and subjected to the action of a spring 12 fixed to the frame of the watch 2. The mouthpiece.
of the pawl 10 is intended to actuate a winding ratchet 13 connected to the driving spring of the watch 2. A retaining pawl 14 cooperates with. the teeth of the ratchet. 13. The other end of the rod 7 carries a member 15 that a coil spring 16 tends to press against the member 6 integral with the pendulum 4; the spring 16 bears, on the one hand, against the bottom 17 of a recess 18 presented by the support 1, and, on the other hand, against the upper face of the member 15.
When the vehicle is in motion, the pendulum 4 oscillates, so that the member 6 momentarily takes an inclined position and lifts, against the action. of the spring 16, the member 15 carried by the rod 7. By moving upwards, the rod 7 transmits its movement to the pawl 10 which turns the ratchet 13 with one or more teeth, which rises watch 2. When the pendulum 4 re takes its rest position, the member 6 returns to the horizontal position, and the spring 16 brings the member 15 back into contact with the member 6.
For clarity of the drawing, a slight clearance is shown between them. organs 6 and 15; it is the same in the other figures of the drawing. The rod 7 therefore resumes its initial position, the pawl 10 jumping on the teeth called ratchet 13. During a next oscillation of the pendulum 4 in any direction, the same cycle begins again.
As the space available in a vehicle is practically not limited, the pendulum 4 can be given a fairly considerable mass, so that it is not necessary to provide a reduction gear train; the ratchet. 13 can. therefore be mounted on the barrel shaft itself.
In the variant shown in FIG. 3, the organ integral with the pendulum 4 is constituted by the plate 19 which has on its lower face an annular rib 20 resting on the bottom 21 of the support 1. An opening 22 is. provided in this bottom 21 to allow the rod 5 carrying the pendulum 4 to pass.
The diameter of the rib 20 is as small as possible, in order to leave the pendulum 4 quite easily oscillating. When the pendulum 4 oscillates, the plate 19 swings around a point of its rib 20 and its upper face pushes back the plate 15. The operation is also identical to that of the embodiment of FIG. 1.
The second variant comprises a crown of balls 23 housed in a groove of the support 1 and cooperating with the lower surface, in the form of a hemisphere, of the member 24 integral with the pendulum 4. Finally, in the last variant (fig. . 5), the lower surface, in the shape of a hemisphere, of the organ 24 co operates with a rim 25, directed towards theinté. laughing, support 1.
In the last two examples (fig. 4 and 5), the pendulum 4 can oscillate in any direction, as in the constructions described above, and the member 24 lifts the organ 15 and the each time. rod 7, thus causing the re-assembly of watch 2.
