Self-winding watch. The object of the present invention is an automatic winding watch for vehicles. This watch is characterized by a lever, one end of which is articulated to the frame of the watch, while the other end carries a weight, and which is held by at least one spring in a rest position whereby it is shaken. temporarily exits this lever carrying a pawl which cooperates with a control ratchet of the watch wheel.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, four embodiments of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1. is a rear elevational view of the first embodiment; -the fig. 2 shows a detail in elevation; Figs. 3 and 4 are rear and side elevational views of the second embodiment; figs. 5 and 6 are two similar views of the third embodiment and FIGS. 6 and 7 two similar views of the fourth embodiment; fig. 9 shows a variation of a detail of the latter.
The watch shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, intended to be placed on a vehicle so that its dial is vertical, comprises a box 1, in which is fixed a support 2, carrying the movement 3 and a lever 4; the latter is rotatably mounted, at 5, by one of its ends, on the support and carries, at its other end, a weight 6. The coil spring 7, fixed by one of its ends to the box, and by the other end, to an arm 8 itself fixed to the lever, normally maintains this lever in an approximately horizontal rest position.
9 is a pawl articulated to the lever and coo operating with a ratchet 10, on which also acts a double retaining pawl 11; the ratchet 10 carries a pinion 12 (fig. 2) which meshes with the teeth 13 (fig. 1) of a drum 14 rotating around the axis 15. In the turn of this same axis can turn a pinion 16 which meshes with a wheel 16a screwed to the ratchet of the barrel and on which the cam 17 is fixed.
The periphery of the latter is formed by a spiral extending over approximately 860 and the two ends of which are connected by a radial flat part, so as to constitute a nose 18. 19 is a roller rolling on the periphery of the cam. , the radius of which is of the order of magnitude of the nose, which is pivoted at 20 on the drum and that a spring 21 constantly tends to apply against the cam. The pressure of the latter can be adjusted by the eccentric 21a.
When the vehicle is in motion, the jolts to which it is subjected and the action of the spring 7 cause the lever 4 to oscillate in a plane parallel to the dial; on each downward oscillation, the pawl 9 rotates the ratchet 10 in the direction of arrow f; this ratchet- communicates to the drum 14 a rotation in the direction of the arrow fi, rotation which brings the roller 19 into contact with the radial face of the nose 18; from this moment and as long as the mainspring is not complete Once reassembled, the roller 19 drives in its rotation the cam 17 and the pinion 16, which produces the winding of the mainspring.
When the latter is completely reassembled, the roller 19 will pass through the nose 18 and will turn over the entire periphery of the cam 17, which will remain stationary.
The watch of Figs. 3 and 4 is also intended to be mounted on a vehicle so that its dial is vertical, but the winding lever 22 is arranged in a vertical plane perpendicular to the dial, the plane in which it is held in a rest position, substantially horizontal, by means of the spring 23. It acts on a ratchet 24 by means of the pawl 25.
The watch of Figs. 5 and 6 is intended to be mounted on a vehicle so that its dial is inclined or even horizontal. The winding lever 26 is rotatably mounted on the lower part of the frame so as to be able to oscillate in a plane perpendicular to the dial, the spring 27 maintains it, in the rest position, at some distance from the frame. This lever 26 acts on a ratchet 28 via the pawl 29. The latter is articulated at 30 on a small ball of the lever 26; it moves between two parallel guides 31, one of which is visible in FIG. 5.
The watch of Figs. 7 and 8 is also intended to be mounted on a vehicle, but so that its dial is vertical; the winding lever 39 is held in the position shown in the figures by two coil springs 32; it carries a pawl 33 cooperating with a ratchet 34 wedged on the axis of a worm 35 meshing with the wheel 36 connected to the motor barrel.
Fig. 9 shows a variant of the pawl carried by the winding lever 39 and of tines to cooperate with the ratchet 34, this pawl, 37, is provided with a series of teeth 38 forming a rack and meshing with the teeth of the ratchet.
The various watches shown may be fitted with a customary hand winder.
