Watch movement with device for starting the balance. Stopping a watch can occur for various unavoidable causes and more particularly by stopping the finger. This latter defect is particularly noticeable in movements comprising a Roskopf type escapement. For a portable watch, restarting can be done very easily by simply rocking. It is no longer the same when the watch is permanently frozen, for example an automobile or vehicle watch. In this case, the watch movement is provided with a positive device for starting the balance, a positive device which comprises a movable member intended to impart an initial impulse to the balance.
The object of the invention is a watch movement with a device for starting the balance, as defined above. It is characterized in that said starting device is controlled by the reset and time-setting rod, when the latter is moved along its axis, for example during the engagement of the setting mechanism. time.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example and plan view, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
On the plate 1 of the frame of the movement, we can see the balance 2, the cock 3 and a lever pivoted at 6 and having two arms 4, 5. This lever is subjected to the action of a spring return 8 formed by a torsion spring, one end of which rests against a pin 9, while the other end, acting on the arm 5 of the lever, always tends to cause the latter to pivot around 6, in the opposite direction of the rotation of a watch hand, and to keep pressed the arm 5 against the internal end of the winding stem 10. The arm 4 is oriented towards the balance 2 and carries at its end a whip 11 formed by a wire steel and tiné to impart to the balance 2 an initial impulse, touching the rim of the latter when the lever 4, 5 performs a pivoting movement.
The winding and time-setting stem 10 is mounted on two stems 12, 12 'fixed on the plate 1. On the stem 10 is fixed a winding pinion 13 which bears on the stem 12 and engages in a winding wheel 14. The rod also carries a coil spring 15, interposed between the stem 12 'and the pinion 13; the rod 10 being movable in rotation and along its axis, it is possible, by a traction exerted on the rod against the action of the spring 15, to move the pinion 13 axially, so that it deviates of the wheel 14 and engages on the other hand in a time-setting reference 16. As soon as the tensile force exerted on the rod 10 ceases, the spring 15 acts as a return spring and brings the rod respectively back to the pinion 13, in its original position.
The return springs 8 and 15 exert a reciprocal antagonistic action; however, the action of the spring 15 is predominant, which has the effect that the spring 8 can cause the lever 4, 5 to pivot only as soon as the rod 10 is moved axially from bottom to top, for example during setting the time of the hands.
To start the balance 2, it is therefore sufficient to pull the winding and time-setting stem 10 and push it back to its original position. It follows that the lever 4, 5 is first brought into the position drawn in phantom, under the action of the spring 8, and then resumes its initial position under the action of the rod 10. At each oscillation of the lever 4, 5, the whip 11 communicates an impulse to the balance 2.
