Process for the production of a condensation product.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of a condensation product of the formula
EMI1.1
characterized in that 3-trifluoro methyl-4-chloro-aniline is allowed to react with a halogenated carbonic acid derivative and the reactive carbamic acid derivative obtained is reacted with 2-amino 4,5-dichlorobenzenesulphonic acid sodium.
One embodiment of the process according to the invention consists in allowing 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-aniline to react with phosgene and reacting the 3-trifluoro-methyl-4-chloro-aniline obtained with sodium 2-amino-4,5-dichlorobenzenesulphonic acid. It is preferable to work in the presence of a tertiary base as the condensing agent. Pyridine or quinoline are particularly suitable for this purpose.
Furthermore, 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-aniline and phosgene can be allowed to react at elevated temperature and the 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-phenyl-1-isocyanate obtained can be reacted with sodium 2-amino-4,5-dichloro-benzenesulfonic acid, whereby the compound of the above formula is obtained in good yield and excellent purity. A particularly suitable solvent for this type of reaction is acetonitrile or pyridine.
Finally, one embodiment consists in reacting 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-aniline with a halocarbon acid ester and reacting the 3-trifluoromethyl 4-chlorophenyl-1-carbamic acid ester with sodium 2 amino-4,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonic acid.
Mainly lower alkyl or aryl esters are suitable as halocarbonic acid esters. The conversion can advantageously be carried out in water.
The new condensation product forms a pale crystal powder that is clearly soluble in hot water and can be used as a moth repellent.
Example 1: a) 300 parts of dry benzene are saturated at 70 with phosgene; To this end, a solution of 100 parts of 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloroaniline in 300 parts of dry benzene at 65 to 70 is added dropwise with stirring and introduction of phosgene. After some time, the mixture is heated to reflux and phosgene is passed in until only small amounts of the amine used are undissolved. The benzoic solution is then filtered, the benzene is distilled off and the 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-phenyl-1-isocyanate is fractionated.
Bp 14,920; Yield 81 / o. b) 13.2 parts of sodium 2-amino-4, 5-dichlorobenzenesulfonic acid are dissolved in 100 parts of dry acetonitrile, mixed with 11.1 parts of 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chlorophenyl-1-isocyanate and placed on a water bath for three hours warmed. The reaction solution is filtered and the solvent is evaporated. Yield 21 parts. After drying and grinding, the new condensation product forms a pale powder that is clearly soluble in hot water.
Example 2:
The 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chlorophenyl-1-earbamic acid chloride prepared from phosgene and 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-aniline in a dry, inert solvent results in the addition of pyridine as a condensing agent with sodium 2-amino-4,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonic acid the urea described in Example 1 b) in a satisfactory yield.
Example 3:
The 2-trifluoromethyl-4-chlorophenyl-1-carbamic acid phenyl ester prepared from chlorocarbonic acid phenyl ester and 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chloro-aniline in dry pyridine gives by reaction with 2-amino-4,5-dichlorobenzene sulfonic acid in hot water the urea described in Example 1 b); Instead of the 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chlorophenyl-1-carbamic acid phenyl ester, the corresponding methyl ester can also be used.
