Additional patent to main patent no. 297021. Process for the production of a copper-containing trisazo dye. The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a copper-containing trisazo dye, which is characterized in that 1 mol of the tetrazo compound is obtained from 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-sulfonic acid with 1 mol of 2- N-acetoacetylamino-naphthalene-5,
7-disulfonic acid and 1 mol of 1-amino-2-ethoxy-naphthalene-6-sulfonic acid kup pelt, the aminodisazo dye obtained, combined with 1 mol of 2-N-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and the now present Trisazo dye treated with copper donating agents.
. Example: 26.4 parts of 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-sulphonic acid are tetrazotized with 13.8 parts of sodium nitrite as usual. After addition of 30 parts of crystallized sodium acetate, a solution of 43.0 parts of the sodium salt of 2-N-acetoacetylamino-naphthalene-5,7-disulfonic acid in 1200 parts of water is allowed to flow in.
When the formation of the intermediate compound is complete, the reaction mass is added to a solution of 28.9 parts of the sodium salt of 1-amino-2-ethoxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid in 300 parts of water. The pH of the solution is kept between 4 and 4.5 by adding sodium acetate. The disazo dye formed is filtered, stirred into 1500 parts of water and 40 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution and, after addition of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite, dianotized by pouring into a mixture of 75 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 200 parts of water and ice at 5-10.
The isolated diazo-disazo dye is added to a solution of 34.3 parts of 2-N-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in 20 parts of concentrated aqueous ammonia solution, 200 parts of water and 200 parts of pyridine, whereupon the trisazo dye is formed . It is isolated and converted into the copper complex compound in the usual way.
The new trisazo dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water with green and in concentrated sulfuric acid with an olive color and dyes cotton and fibers made of regenerated cellulose in dark olive tones with excellent wash and lightfastness.
