Additional patent to main patent no. 297021. Process for the production of a trisazo dye containing copper. The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of a copper-containing trisazo dye, which is characterized in that the diazo compound is obtained from 1 mol of 4-amino-4'-acetylamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-sulfonic acid with 1 mol 1-amino-2-methoxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid coupled,
the aminoazo dye obtained is dianotized and combined with 1 mole of 2-oxynaphthalene, the acetyl amino group is converted into the amino group in the disazo dye that is now present, the aminodisazo dye thus obtained is dianotized again and coupled with 1 mole of 2-acetoacetyl aminonaphthalene-5,7-disulfonic acid ,
and the trisazo dye formed is converted into its copper complex compound by treatment with a copper donating agent. Example: 30.6 parts of 4-amino-4'-acetylamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-sulfonic acid are dianoed as usual and added to the solution of 27.5 parts of the sodium salt entered the 1-amino-2-methoxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid and 300 parts of water. The pH of the solution is kept between 4 and 4.5 by adding sodium acetate or sodium formate until the coupling is complete.
The monoazo dye is isolated, dissolved in 600 parts of water with the addition of 40 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution and, after the addition of 7.0 parts of sodium nitrite, by pouring into a mixture of 75 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 200 parts of water and ice at 5 to 10 dianotated.
The diazo-azo suspension is now carried into the solution of 14.4 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene in 400 parts of water and 30 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, 20 parts of sodium carbonate are added, and the mixture is stirred at 5 until the new coupling ends is.
The disazo dye is isolated, stirred again in 1000 parts of water to saponify the 4'-acetylamino group to the amino group and, after adding 100 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, heated to 80 to 90 until complete saponification has occurred.
7 parts of sodium nitrite are then added and the mixture is dianotized at 5 to 10 by pouring the dye solution into a mixture of 150 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 200 parts of ice. The diazo-disazo dye is isolated and carries it in concentrated form in the solution of 43.0 parts of the sodium salt of 2-acetoacetylamino naphthalene-5,7-disulfonic acid, 500 parts of water and 200 parts of pyridine, whereupon the formation of the Trisazo dye takes place.
It is isolated and converted into the copper complex compound in the usual way.
The new trisazo dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a green color and dyes cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose in olive-green shades with very good wash and lightfastness.
