Additional patent to main patent no. 297021. Process for the production of a copper-containing trisazo dye. The present patent relates to a process for the production of a copper-containing trisazo dye, which is characterized in that the diazo compound is obtained from 1 mol of 4-amino-4'-carbethoxyamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-sulfonic acid with 1 mol 2-acetoacetylaminonaphthalene-5,7-disulfonic acid coupled,
in the monoazo dye obtained, the carbethoxyainino group leads to the amino group, the amino monoazo dye is diazotized and combined with 1 mole of 1-amino-2-methoxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid,
the now present amino-disazo dye is diazotized again and coupled with 1 mol of 2-benzoylamino-5-oxy - naphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, and the trisazo dye formed is converted into its copper complex compound by treatment with a copper donor.
Example: 33; 6 parts of 4-amino-4'-carbäthoxyamino-1,1'-diphenyl-3-sulfonic acid are diazotized as usual and added to the solution of 43.0 parts of the sodium salt of 2-acetacetylaminonaphthalene-5,7 disulfonic acid, 30 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, 10 parts of sodium carbonate and 400 parts of water are entered.
When the coupling is complete, 80 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution are added and the mixture is heated to 90 to 95 until the saponification of the 4'-carbethoxyamino group to the amino group is complete. The aminoazo dye is isolated, redissolved in 400 parts of water and, after the addition of 7.0 parts of sodium nitrite, is diazotized at 5 to 10 by pouring into the mixture of 25 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of ice.
When the diazotization is complete, 50 parts of sodium acetate are added to the diazo solution, followed by a solution of 27.5 parts of the sodium salt of 1-amino-2-methoxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid in 300 parts of water.
The mixture is stirred at 5 to 10 until the coupling is complete, made alkaline by adding 40 parts of concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, adding 7.0 parts of sodium nitrite and again diazotizing by pouring into the mixture of 75 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 200 parts of ice.
When the diazotization is complete, the diazo-disazo dye is filtered and in concentrated form at 5 to 10 in the solution of 34.3 parts of 2-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in 20 parts of concentrated aqueous ammonia solution , 200 parts of water and 200 parts of pyridine base mixture entered, whereupon the formation of the dye takes place. It is isolated and converted into the copper complex compound in the usual way.
The new trisazo dye is a dark powder that dissolves in water with green, in concentrated sulfuric acid with an olive color and dyes cotton and fibers made of regenerated cellulose in dark olive shades of excellent washing and lightfastness.
