Additional patent to main patent No. 287868. Process for the production of a trisazo dye. It has been found that a valuable, new trisazo dye is obtained if 1,3-dioxybenzene is mixed with 1-oxy-2-aminobenzene-4-carboxylic acid (4'-methyl) -phenylamide on the one hand and with it on the other the one-sided coupling of.
tetrazotized 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl with 1-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid coupled diazoazo compound.
The new dye is a dark, green bronzing powder that dissolves in water, dilute sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide solution with a brown color. It dyes cotton using the one- or two-bath re-coppering process in brown shades with very good lightfastness and excellent wet fastness.
The coupling of the 1,3-dioxybenzene with the two different diazo compounds can be carried out in any order; However, it is advantageous to implement the implementation with the diazoazov connection in second place. Both couplings he follows advantageously in an alkaline medium.
Example: 18.4 parts of 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl are tetrazotized as usual with 13.8 parts of sodium nitrite and coupled in a known manner in a sodium carbonate-alkaline medium with 14.0 parts of 1-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid to form the diazo-azo compound.
At 8 to 12, a solution is added to the suspension of this intermediate product which was obtained by dissolving the monoazo dye prepared according to the information below in 800 parts of water with the addition of 16 parts by volume of 30% sodium hydroxide solution.
The suspension of 26.6 parts of 1-oxy-2-aminobenzene-4-carboxylic acid - (4'-methyl) -phe- - nylamide in 200 parts of water is cooled to 0 by adding ice and treated with 27.5 parts of 30o / Oiger hydrochloric acid and 8 parts of sodium chloride are added. At 0 to 5, a solution of 7.6 parts of sodium nitrite in 25 parts of water is added dropwise and the diazotization mixture is then stirred for about one hour at 5 to 12.
The solid diazonium compound is separated off by filtration, washed with water until the filtrate no longer reacts acidic to the Congo and suspended in a solution of 14.4 parts of 1,3-dioxybenzene and 1 part of concentrated hydrochloric acid in 100 parts of water. For coupling, this mixture is allowed to flow at 5 to 10 in a solution of 40 parts of sodium carbonate in 300 parts of water. After stirring for 8 hours, the monoazofa dye is completely separated off by adding sodium chloride and separated off by filtration.
After stirring for 12 hours, the reaction solution is heated to 60 and the tris azo dye is caused to separate completely by adding sodium chloride.
