Ball valve. The present invention relates to a ball valve comprising, in a housing provided with the fluid inlet and outlet pipes, a pivoting central body, pierced with a passage opening and provided with sealing gaskets, valve characterized in that the seals, arranged, on the one hand, between the central body and the housing of the valve and, on the other hand, between said central body and the fluid inlet pipe, are constituted by elastic and flexible rings of plastic material, housed in grooves made at the periphery of the central body. and located for the first seal, in the vicinity of the upper end of the central body in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the latter, and for the second.
seal, along a plane inclined relative to the axis of the fluid supply pipe, plane oriented chi side of the supply pipe and partially surrounding the orifices of the light passing through the central body.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, shows schematically three embodiments of a wood bucket valve according to the invention.
In the first embodiment (fig. 1 to 6) the inlet and outlet pipes of the valve form a 90 degree bend. Fig. 1 is. a section in elevation, along line 1-I of filw. 2, of the valve with central body in the open position, for the passage of the fluid. Fig. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 shows a sectional elevation taken along line 111-11I of FIG. 4, with the central body in the closed position.
Fig. 1 is a horizontal section, along line IV-IV of FIG. 3. Figs. 5, in elevation, and fig. 6, in plan, show in detail the central body.
The second embodiment (fig. 7 and 8) refers to. a Z-shaped double bend valve and shows, in fig. 7, a sectional elevation, open position, and, in fig. 8, a similar section with the central body in a closed position. In the third embodiment (fig. 9 and 10), the inlet and outlet pipes of the valve are on the same axis, the central body being. inclined by 45 with respect to said axis.
Fig. 9 shows a sectional elevation of said valve with the central body in the open position, and FIG. 10 groin similar cut, with the central body in the closed position.
The valve angled at 90, in the first embodiment shown in fi-. 1 to 6, comprises a housing 15, provided with an inlet pipe 16 and an outlet 17, the pipes being. provided with a thread for their connection to the inlet and outlet conduits, not shown in the drawing. In the casing of the casing 15, of cylindrical shape, is housed a pivoting central body 18, provided at its upper part with a rod 19 with a square head 20, to be operated by means of a key. The central body 18 comprises an axial recess and a slot \? 1, perpendicular to said axis and the diameter of which corresponds to that of the tube 17.
In addition to the seal with which the cover 2 of the casing 15 is provided, the central body has at its upper end an elastic seal formed by a flexible ring 7, castrated in a circular groove 8, in order to ensure the sealing of the valve.
It goes without saying that the casing as well as the central body housed therein could have a conical shape.
The central body 18 is, moreover, provided with a seal, intended to ensure its tightness with respect to the casing 15 and located on the side of the pipes 16 and 17. This seal consists of a groove? 3 (fig. 5 ), carried out at the periphery of the central body and inclined at 45 relative to the axis thereof, groove in which is housed a flexible ring 24, elastic, also con fected in a plastic material.
The opening and closing positions of the valve are shown in fig. 1 and 3 respectively, the arrows of fig. 1 indicate the so-called fluid passage when the position of the central body is as it is drawn therein. By turning the central body of 180 to bring it into the position drawn in fig. 3, the valve is sealed, so that all communication between the inlet and outlet pipes is intercepted.
The same construction of the central body is. applied to the second embodiment shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 and which differs from the previous one by the fact. that instead of being vertical and coaxial with the central body, as shown in fig. 1, the inlet tubing 16 'is. horizontal and parallel to the 17 'outlet tubing. The opening position of the central body is shown in fig. 7 and the closing one in fig. 8.
Finally, according to a third form of ex # 1-- cut.ion, figs. 9 and 10 show an inclined position of the housing 15 'of the valve enclosing the central body, with respect to the inlet 16 "and outlet 17" tubes, arranged in extension of one another on the same axis. The opening position of the central body is shown in fig. 9 and the closing one in fi-. 1.0.
