Description

Robinet.

Tap. The object of the invention is a valve, characterized by a rubber tube having a cross section of which the interior and exterior contours are lenticular, the liquid flowing through this tube and a member being provided which, when when the valve is closed, crushes the tube so as to prevent the passage of liquid.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the robi net according to the invention, FIG. 1 showing this valve in longitudinal section and FIG. 2 a section of this valve along A-B of FIG. 1.

The valve shown has a metal valve body in which is disposed a rubber tube D through which the liquid flows. This tube has a cross section whose inner and outer contours are lenticular. This tube is provided at one end with a flange E by means of which it is firmly fixed to the body of the valve by the threaded washer F.

The valve is closed by crushing the rubber tube D, so as to prevent the passage of liquid. For this purpose, a sleeve G is provided which moves transversely to the axis of the tube and crushes the latter. This sleeve G has an internal thread into which is screwed a threaded part 1 rotated by means of a clear ma H. By turning this lever H we advance or move back the sleeve G, a lug K penetrating into a slot made in the sleeve G not allowing the latter to rotate with the handle.

A cable gland L, of standard construction, prevents the liquid from finding an outlet through the stem of the handle H in the event of inadvertent closing of the outlet port M of the tap.
