Barrel for watch movement. The object. of the present invention is a barrel for a watch movement. In usual movements, the barrel consists of a cylindrical box closed by a cover and movable around the barrel shaft. The barrel. is fitted with teeth which generally mesh with the center pinion. The movement spring is hooked by its inner end to the plug which is integral with the barrel shaft. When winding the watch, the spring is wound around the bung by turning the barrel shaft. This rotational movement is obtained by a succession of graining in watches with a pendant winding, the last gear, the ratchet, being a toothed wheel carried by the barrel shaft.
The aim of the invention is to construct a barrel which makes it possible to reduce the height which is reserved for it in the movement as well as for the organs which depend on it (shaft, bridge and barrel ratchet), without however reducing the height H of the spring and the sfirets necessary for the proper functioning of the movement.
The object of the invention is a barrel for a watch movement, characterized in that the bung forming an integral part of the barrel ratchet let is hollow and mounted coaxially on the barrel shaft, itself integral with the barrel.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
The fi-J is a plan view of the barrel and Fig.2 a section passing through the shaft of said barrel. The barrel 1, open at its upper part, is integral with the barrel shaft 2 pivoted, on the one hand, in the plate 3, on the other hand, clans the barrel bridge 4. The ratchet. of barrel let 5 is, frictionally adjusted on square 6 of bung 7. The bung, internally cylindrical, can turn freely on two collars 8 and 9 of shaft 2; the base of the plug 7 rests on a bearing surface 10 of the shaft 2. The depth of the barrel is very slightly greater than the height H of the spring. motor 11, one end of which is fixed at 12. The lower face of the ratchet 5 is flush with the upper edge of the barrel 1 and acts as a cover for it.
On the other hand, a circular groove 13 is provided in said face of the ratchet to prevent the lubricant from flowing out of the barrel. The lower reach 10 and the collar 8 limit the height swing of the shaft 2.
In the usual devices, the barrel bridge is disposed between the barrel itself and the barrel ratchet, but, in the described barrel, the ratchet. 5 is placed between the barrel 1. and the bridge 4 and acts as a cover for the barrel. In addition, while the barrel shaft is usually integral with the ratchet, the shaft 2 is integral with the barrel 1.
When the movement is reassembled, the ratchet 5 leads. bung 7 and axis 2 remains fixed. On the contrary, under the return action of the spring 11, the barrel actuates the movement driving the shaft 2, while the ratchet remains blocked by a pawl (not shown) according to the usual system.
