Waterproof watch case. The subject of the invention is a waterproof watch case of the type comprising a movement-carrying cap, a bezel fitted on this cap, and a protective glass with a heel made of unbreakable material, this: the case elements being assembled with each other with the interposition of a compressible and moisture-impermeable sealing gasket disposed between said elements.
According to the invention, the casing. Is characterized in that said compressible lining is inserted between the aforementioned cap and the heel of the protective glass, which heel is engaged and held under a rim. Of the bezel, the as semblage of these housing elements being ensured, to. the tightening state, by lateral screws supported by the bezel and penetrating, by their end, each into a hole in the cap: these lateral screws preferably comprise a cone end.
In order to maintain the compressed sealing gasket laterally, it is placed, preferably , between the bezel * and a flange fitted in the cap and of which an inner rim bears on the dial, after the interlocking of the watch movement fitted with its dial.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
The, fig. 1. shows, in section, a rectangular box along a line I-I from the end. 2.
Fig. 2 is a plan view. The cap comprises the bottom 8 and the wall 4. The latter comprises a housing bearing surface 5 serving as a seat for a shaped watch movement 6 surmounted by the dial 7. The movement and the dial are drawn in phantom in the drawing.
On the wall 4 is fitted a caseband 8 which has an inner rim 8 ', under which is engaged, by its heel 9', a protective glass 9 with a heel, made of an unbreakable material.
Between the edge of the wall 4 and the heel 9 'of the glass 9 is inserted a sealing gasket 10 made of compressible material and impermeable to humidity, for example a rubber strip (in black in fig. 1). .
In the wall 4 of the cap is adjusted, with gentle friction, a flange 12 which takes ab pui on the fitting bearing surface 5 and of which an inner flange 12 'bears on the dial when the movement, fitted with the dial, is fitted.
The sealing ring 10 is held laterally by the bezel 8, on the one hand, and the flange 12, on the other hand, which has the effect that it is contained inside by said flange as soon as it is is compressed and therefore cannot expand laterally.
The assembly of the case elements with each other is achieved by clamping when the rim 8 'of the bezel is pressed towards the edge of the caseband 4, so that the sealing ring 10 is strongly compressed and pressed. laterally coulters the bezel 8 and the flange 12, while the heel 9 'of the crystal 9 is clamped between the edge of the net 8' and the ring 10. Tightening is ensured by lateral screws 13 supported by the net 8 : and penetrating by their end, of preferably cone, each in a corresponding hole 14 of the middle part 4 of the cap 3.
In the example shown, two side screws 13 are provided on each .des small sides of the housing. As a result, the assembly joint, usually forming an access path to the interior of the housing, is practically watertight, thanks to the elastic gasket 10, the cone screws 13 of which allow the need to be increased or reduced as required. -reduce the tightening.
Indeed, the holes 14 could be of elongated or olivated shape and present an inclined plane cooperating with the end of the screws 13, such that the latter, depending on whether it advances or retreats, produces a reinforcement. respectively a reduction in the degree of compression of the elastic seal 10.
